Made it today for MK early opening. It was definitely worth it as we were able to do many rides and attractions.
We did stop to get a coffee smoothie in Tomorrowland. DH and I were very disappointed however. We used to get them at the sunshine tree terrace in Adventureland, and they were like a coffee ice cream shake...amazing. They stopped serving them there about a year ago and we've been on a quest to find them elsewhere. The ones we had in tomorrowland were more "icy" rather than creamy....
Did not eat much otherwise as we were saving ourselves for dinner.
Dinner, Cape May Clam Bake
About 3 years ago, we took the kids for the first time here for breakfast, and it was fantastic esp. the character interaction with chip and dale. We went back the next year and we were disappointed. However, since we have never done the dinner we decided to give it a shot.
Unfortunately, we came away from this experience disappointed. Maybe it's because we're New Englanders and are picky about our clams? Anyway, the food was good, but IMO buffets are not a good deal. I simply do not eat my moneys worth. I also find myself feeling "rushed" and do not enjoy some people who lack proper "buffet etiquette" (i.e. reaching across you in line, hovering while you plate your food, bringing up a dirty plate...yuck).
We all began with salad...good. Between the four of us, we sampled most of the offerings including, New England Clam Chowder (pretty good), Hand-Carved Prime Rib of Beef with au jus and horseradish cream (better), Smoked BBQ Pork Ribs (fatty, not-so-good), french fries, mixed vegetables, Corn on the Cob etc.
The Farm Raised Clams with Garlic Butter and Prince Edward Island Sound Mussels with Roasted Tomato Butter were rubber bands. The Steamed Peel & Eat Shrimp were very good...and from the children's buffet - Macaroni & Cheese, Crispy Fish Nuggets (these were amazing!!!) and Fried Chicken Strips. The pizza was just plain BAD (DD had me try a bite).
Desserts were very good, but somehow they didn't make up for the rest of the meal. Service was fine.
Overall rating: 7 - Not terrible, ok food. Sadly, however I don't think we'll come back. I think we'll also stick to breakfast for buffets.
I still have 5 more days to review...
I will try to do this as much as my schedule allows...thanks. Hope you all are enjoying them as much as I enjoy reading others reviews.
