125% FCC Question/Clarification

If my cancelled cruise was booked with a place holder and I take the FCC. Do I get the placeholder back to use at another time? Can I then combine the placeholder with the FCC or is it just one or the other?
The placeholder/OBB benefits will remain with the FCC and can be used on another cruise within 15 months, even if it would have originally expired. It cannot be separated from the FCC, and if you take the refund offer the OBB benefits will be lost.

Sorry if this has been asked. I'm waiting for a call back from my travel agent, but figured I would ask here. If my cancelled cruise was booked with a place holder and I take the FCC. if the canceled cruise has a placeholder you can combine the same placeholder perks and the fcc to the new cruise date. Plus the expiration of the placeholder is extended too. I only know this because I was offered the fcc, but did not originally book with a placeholder, but wanted to use it along with the fcc, but was told no, only the situation you’re in was allowed.

I was struggling with the decision whether to take the full refund or the 125% cruise credit. After some research and clarification from DCL my problem has been solved. I did not need the funds right away, and I do not see DCL going bankrupt (will still monitor though). Turns out I have the full 15 months to request my refund or use as a 125% credit towards one or more existing sailings (which we have). So I am just going to leave the cancelled reservation alone and at anytime during the 15 months if I decide I want the 125% cruise credit then I can have it or if decide I want the full refund then I can have that. So I will just leave it alone for now and see how this situation evolves. Best of both worlds for now.

Does anyone think they may extend the 15 month rebooking window? As each additonal month ticks by with no sailings, we have fewer options. I'm hoping for an extension.

I apologize if this has been discussed in other threads. If I use the 125% FCC credit to book a new sailing for next summer, will I still have the opportunity to cancel that new reservation prior to a certain deadline and receive my original payment (100%, not the extra 25%) back without incurring any penalty? TIA.

The short answer is yes. You are just subject to the cancellation deadlines on the new cruise. So to get the full 100% back you would have to cancel before the PIF date of the new cruise.
