We are going to WDW in a few more days and I pulled up the menus to show everyone what we had to look forward to. My 12 year old who is suppose to eat off the adult menu was NOT HAPPY AT ALL about her selections at Le Cellier. What is the likely hood they will let her eat of the kids menu? I know she will not even pass for younger than she is considering she is as tall as I am. Were just trying to decide if we should just plan a different meal that evening, feed her before we go and just let her eat dessert there...or if they will let her eat off the kids menu which she would be fine with. HELP!

I am told they will let them eat off the kids menu. In my experience Disney is very kid friendly. They try to make everyone happy. We ordered desserts off the kids menu at LeCellier last year. And as an adult they made me a chicken finger platter once at Boatwright's. So I wouldn't worry! Besides, there are so many great snack carts in Epcot she definately won't go hungry!

Is there a place online where I can pull up menus for the different restaurants at WDW? I would love to be able to pull that up.

Thanks!

I ordered a Dessert off the kids menu last summer, I am 6'1", 220#(currently).

But if adults order off the kids menu there maybe a surcharge applied.

Oh, bubba73! Here's the site I stare at constantly when planning ADRs:

www.allearsnet.com

Click on Dining, then on Menus...it's all there!

Not sure if she likes any of the childs menus, but she wont have any problem ordering from that. Plus you could pay OOP for her kids meal and save the extra table service for a really yummy snack (get it to go one night late, or at DTD, or use it for a signature meal). I'm sure even tho its a plain kids menu its still going to be yummy. They even have a simple/plain steak :)

I've heard tell that the chocolate mouse is to die for :)

Pasta and Tomato Sauce - $4.99

The following items come with choice of fries or corn:

Cheeseburger - $4.99
Hot Dog - $4.99
Chicken strips- $4.99
Grilled Chicken $6.99
Grilled Steak - $8.99

Desserts

Northern Lights - Vanilla ice cream, your choice of soda pop and a red glow cube $5.99

Campfire S'mores - $3.99
Chocolate "Moose" - $3.99

We have never had a problem with my dd ordering off any kids menus LeCellier included, lunch or dinner. We have never "fibbed" about her age nor have we ever been charged extra. I simply mention that my dd would prefer a kids menu if that's ok. Alternately she sometimes chooses an appetizer and salad instead of a full adult meal or the kids meal.

I wouldn't worry about her getting a kids meal but maybe have her peek at the appetizers just in case.

My 12 y/o dd, at about 5'4", just ordered off the childrens menu at both LeCellier and 50's P/T. No problem at all...in fact, when we were seated at LeCellier we found that they had given her an adult menu. We asked for a children's menu, which they promptly brought. Then, our server came back and said.."Hey, they didn't give her crayons to go with her menu...man, it's tough to get good help nowadays!!!" So, off she went to get crayons. Too funny. Dd then ordered a cheeseburger, which she loves at LeCellier!!!

They would not let my son (10 at the time) order from the kids menu at the Whispering Canyon Grill, our waitress was Miss Understood....cute huh? She was very condescending and very unaccomdating. It was probably our worst meal there, and we were really looking forward to it since everyone said it was a blast when they've been.

But, still when asked if he could order from the childs menu since nothing looked appetizing to him from the adults, she said no and said that he would have to order the skillet too. Maybe a ploy to get more tips since we were on the dining plan and she got 18% of our total? Who knows.....but don't assume every waiter or waitress will grant your request.

That's too bad TheRatPack. We had the best waiter at WCC. We were not on the dining plan, but my DD 11 wanted to look at the children's menu. He was very accomodating and brought one to her. There wasn't anything she was crazy about, but told us if she changed her mind about the skillet we could add her on later. She just wanted a corn on the cob, so he let her have one without any charge. He was great and got a very good tip!!

We've never had any problem with an adult or older child ordering off the children's menu. As stated above, you should consider whether you want to pay OOP for the child's menu item and save the TS credit for another meal.

If you decide to use a dining credit on the plan, you can get a larger "adult sized" serving of a kid menu item--they basically double the serving size. A 12 year old girl is one of those tough ages--some eat everything in sight and some don't finish a Happy Meal at McD's. You'll know best whether the standard kid's serving will be enough.

We found Le Cellier to be one of the nicest, most accomadating places at WDW. The kid desserts are a riot!

Just an aside....we loved the atmosphere at WCC, but didn't care for the food.

We went last August, and my 12 year old boy (who is really a picky eater), loved the mashed potatos. He also ate a steak, but he would go back just for the potatos.

Thanks for all your comments. I am thinking that if I go in there and when they ask me if this is going to be on our DDP...I will ask if first they will tell me if there is going to be an issue with her eating off the children's menu. If there is no problem then I will just pay OOP for her meal and save the TS meal for another time. If it is a problem I will just order something myself that she may hopefully like at least part of and let her share/pick off mine and we can always grab a snack later...and still save her TS meal for later. I am not trying to beat the system or anything just hate to waste the TS meal if she is not going to use it. Hopefully they will help with this situation...I am sure they are asked many times a day. BTW...I dont mind paying OOP for the addition to the tip either to make up for it.
