I have a 12 year old and a 14 year old. Miss 14 is totally excited about doing all the teen activites when we cruise in a few months. I'm not sure we'll see much of her at all. I'm worried about my 12 year old daughter who is somewhat quiet and shy. She's cruised before and did a few of the activities in the 8 year old group but didn't enjoy much because she didn't know anyone. What do the 12 year olds do in the kids clubs that I can tell her about?

Thanks!

Here is the navigator for the 10-12 group from two weeks ago. Have her look it over. Also, sign up for your cruise's meets thread & she will have the chance to email someone else who is her age & will be in the group. She will already have a friend onboard that way. :)

My 12 year old (and her 16 year old brother) checked the Kids Club Navigators everyday, and the regular Navigators. They NEVER went to the clubs the entire 7 days. Found plenty of activities on the regular Navigator, and other than Wine Tasting, did everything with DW and I. Yep, together 24 hours a day for the week.
It was the best vacation ever. We got to be our kids friends for a week instead of mom and dad.

When will she turn 13? If she is a month to her birthday when you cruise she can join in the teen activities.

She wishes! She will be two months shy of her 13th birthday, besides, my 14 year old would just shrivel up and die if the younger one got to be treated as a "teen"!

We sail 4/1/06
We have a 14 DD and a 12 (13 in 2 months) DD. Any chance you are on the 4/1?

I am a bit worried about DD12. We have DD8 and DD6 too!

We can share ideas.

We have done three cruises with friends. Their dd is one year older than mine and for the first two cruises were in the same age group as far as the club thing goes. This past July though - my daughter was (is) 12 and her daughter is 13. I asked my dd if she wanted me to see if she could be with the older group. I questioned one of the club reps and was told that she would have to register with her age group first and if they felt and I felt that she was ready/comfortable with the 13 and up group, she could move up. She also told me I might not want her with the older group anyway til midnight and so forth.

My daughter stayed with us the whole time and did not join either group and we were all happy with that. It really depends on each child and what they and you are comfortable with (my daughter is not one to go out often or wonder on her own anywhere).
