My DD12 told us many years ago that she wanted to be a Chef. And when it gets right down to it, she wants to be a Pastry Chef at Disney when she grows up. I've always told her that that is fine so long as I can move to Disney with her and drive a Boat :boat: (Epcot to BW to MGM, etc.).

As a birthday present, my wife took her to the Food and Wine Festival to sit through a demonstration with Collette Peters, my daughter's favorite cake chef. They went down on a Friday (with MIL and DD10) and spent Saturday in the park. But Sunday was just for DD12.

She had a blast. The best thing is that she was treated lilke any other adult guest (except for the champagne :rolleyes1 ). She was able to enjoy watching the cooking demonstration, eating the breakfast and sampling what Ms. Peters had made. Our family has never been to the Food and Wine Festival, just because it happens during school and DS13 plays football, DD12 plays volleyball, etc., etc. But this was a great trip (from what I heard). DS and I were stuck at home watching football - GO GAMECOCKS!

Anyway, we are headed back for a family vacation the week of Thanksgiving.

So, if in a few years you see a retired gentlman driving the water taxi and munching on pastries, that's me!
