Getting ready for a new trip and that means new creative Pixie Dust. (You can see my previous themes in my sig.) This time we're going for 12 nights at the beginning of December so of course the 12 Days of Christmas theme just jumped out at me.

A little background about the trip: It's our first time for the Christmas holidays and MIL and FIL's first time ever. Since we're going for 12 nights/13 days we're planning a fairly relaxed trip of park highlights and holiday stuff. We're staying at BWV and then switching to AKV for the last 4 nights. We've been planning this trip for a year so I've had a lot of time to work on the creative prep. Of course, that didn't stop me from saving most of it until the last minute. ;) One other wrinkle in the plans - FIL fell a few months ago and fractured 3 vertebrae in his next. We didn't think they would be able to go at all, but right now the trip is on. We'll have a final decision when he sees the doctor on Tuesday.

So, on to the creative stuff. The plan, of course, starts with a tree. Well, since we have two rooms, it will actually be two trees. I'm planning to order one 3' green, pre-lit tree from Amazon Prime and have it delivered to the resort. For the Studio I bought a 2' red tinsel tree from Target. Target also had a nice array of accessories for mini trees - skirts, toppers, battery-operated lights, ornaments and garland. I got a green skirt and lights plus a gold topper and garland for the red tree. For the green tree I got a red skirt, topper and garland.

Then I made ornaments using my Silhouette die cutter.

I'm working on garland for the room. I bought some cute green and red garland and I'm sewing gold Mickey heads onto it. Not sure if I'll get this done in time but we'll see.

I'm still working on something for the door. But that's the room decorations. Next up is the presents.

I made a card for each day with a different theme. The plan is to give everyone a present on the first and last days. Then each day in between 2 or 3 people get a present. There are also some additional presents for my parents who are local and will be joining us for a couple days.

I made the cards myself using Photoshop and clip-art.

I'm working now on wrapping the presents in a way that's transportable. I'll share pics of some of them later this week.

What a clever idea!!!
I love the Mickey head garland w/ the holy leaves...

Can't wait to see the rest!

Thanks such a good idea. I LOVE it! I will have to steal a few things from you if you don't mind as I will maybe changing our trip for December and taking my mom along.

sorry to hear you FIL is not joining you. Hope he gets better fast.

Just realized that I never updated this with the pictures and gifts. I don't have pictures of all the gifts but here is the list. Of course, I went totally overboard. :rotfl: Most of these are relatively inexpensive but I splurged on a few. I got a bunch of these Christmas-themed items in January on clearance. We went much lighter on Christmas this year with all the Disney presents.

Since my in-laws did not end up going with us, I took one of each of their presents and put it under the tree on Day 1. Then I told DS that I would let Disney know that they didn't come and have them ship the rest of the presents home. The box was waiting for us at home and DS gave it to my in-laws at Christmas.
