We just got home a few hours ago, living in Orlando means short travel to and from the port! We had a great time on our Cruise and thought I would share the highlights and such!
It was myself and My mother on a Mom/Daughter Getaway! This was our 2nd Cruise, and 2nd Disney Cruise overall (1st was on the Magic).
Our Room: It was a Cat 6 somewhat Midship #6594 our room host was Dalton who was so funny, he went out of his way to make sure we had enough ice, 2 buckets worth as my mom made the mistake of mentioning how she LOVES ice!! The room was spacious, clean, and in good shape, we had a verandah and we had a nice view of the starboard side, Atlantis in Nassau, and Family Beach and the Flying Duchman at Castaway Cay. It was quiet and the only noise we heard was the last night with all the suitcases being moved around in the room above us. We felt it was closer to the aft elevators then the midship but it was a bit too far for my mom to walk to/from with her mobility needs so next cruise will be closer to an elevator for her. Overall the room would be a 9 out of 10.
Dining Rooms: Our Rotation was PTTA. But we were a little different because we were able to book on the ship for Palo's Dinner the 1st night for dinner. We waitlisted for a 2nd Dinner for the 2nd night and received it so for us it was Palo, Palo, Triton's, Animators Palette. We also did Palo's for Brunch after a cancellation came in for that as well (we were waitlisted). I'll Start with Palo's and go night by night here!
Palo Night One: we were seated at a table for 2, right near the bar, our server was Michael from the Philippines and we were very impressed (by the end of the cruise Michael had become our favorite CM of the Cruise). The food was superb, everything Michael brought us to try, along with what we ordered were prepared perfectly and tasted wonderful! I had the Margarita Flatbread for my appetizer and I had the Filet Mignon and it was cut with a fork tender and cooked perfectly. For my Mother she had the Shrimp and Asparagas Salad and the Lobster Marscapone Ravioli. Both of which disappeared quickly so she must have enjoyed it! For Dessert we both had the Chocolate Souffle and Michael brought a Panna Cotta and some Gelato to have us try as I couldn't decide if I wanted the Souffle or the Panna Cotta well we received both! We both Decided the Souffle was ok, but the Panna Cotta was far more our speed and we enjoy that a lot more. The Gelato was delicious as well but the Clean Plate of the evening was the Panna Cotta nothing was left on the plate! Dinner here rated 10 out of 10!
Palo Night 2: I had the Margartia Pizza again and I had the Osso Bucco for my entree it was the special of the evening and it was the Best Osso Bucco I have ever had! The Sauce was perfect not to much and perfectly seasoned. My mother had the Mozzarella and Tomato Caprese Salad and it was fantastic the Balsamic Reduction and the pesto sauce was terrific! We were given a plate of the scallops to try and that was fantastic! We both had the Panna Cotta for Dessert again, Michael brought me a chocolate Decadence dessert and mom some Gelato to try as the flavors were different tonight. Michael was a pure gem, he made us laugh, smile, and shared his work history with us (he went to Italy and worked on the Magic, from Day 1, and then the Wonder in Italy from its Day 1 as well) and we saw him at Triton's and Goofy's Galley helping out during the trip and you couldn't help but smile when you saw him as he was so happy to be doing the work, and making magic! Dinner rated 10 out of 10!

Triton's Night 3 Pirate's Menu: We were utterly disappointed with the servers we had been assigned too, more on that later on, but the food was ok, nothing spectacular, I have an allergy to bananas and Plantains and so finding something was difficult as it was a very caribbean Menu with lots of no no meals on it. I ended up with trying the Conch Chowder I found the one at Olivia's at OKW to be far better. I also had the bibb salad with the raspberry dressing and that was good but not great. For my entree I had Short Ribs modified to take the plantains off the plate it was good but the Osso Bucco the night before was better. I also tried the Shrimp and Scallop pasta dish and that was good, a nice tomato sauce not overly sauced and the scallops were really sweet. The shrimp went to my mother as she loves them so I figured she'd enjoy them more then I do. For Dessert I tried the Sampler, the cheese cake was the best but the other two were ok. My mother had the rice pudding and she loved that very much! Rated 7 out of 10.
Palo Brunch: It was fantastic, the selection was terrific, we loved the salmon mousse, the cheese selection, the stollen Bread with cream and berries, the shrimp, the poached Scallops and for our hot items we split a frittata, a margarita pizza, a chicken parmesan, and an eggs Florentine. The food was fantastic! Michael was our Server and I went up to get dessert, I got a chocolate mousse cake, and 2 small martini glasses filled with Panna Cotta and sat down, well Michael knowing how much I loved that dessert, asked the chef to prepare a full meal of it and showed up with the dinner portion of Panna Cotta

Yes Michael is a pure Gem
Rated 10 out of 10
Animator's Palette Night 4: The show was great a lot of fun watching the kids around us light up as they watched it, but here is where we really just really got fed up with our servers we were assigned. We were just being served our entrees as the last family walked out of the restaurant. We were the last family there, they were so slow and the food was luke warm at best. It was like we were forgotten and their tips sadly for them reflected it. I understand they have a lot of people to serve but every other table had received their appetizers, entrees, and desserts and drinks far before us, we were all seated at the same time, and we hadn't even eaten our entree's by the time all the others had left. We missed the Till we meet again and the food was bismal at best. Rated 3 out of 10 thats just because the show was fun.
Lunch on Embarkation was at Parrot Cay, it was great and a good way to start the festivities, and we enjoyed that very much, I enjoyed the kids selections as the adult section had a few items that were unsafe for me to eat due to my food allergy. My mother loved the adult selection.
Breakfast on our Disembarkation at AP was a standard ala cart menu and it was ok, but again service was very slow, and we were one of the last families again felt bad for our table mates who had to eat and run to catch their flight.
Ports of call:
Nassau, we got off and went down to the Welcome Center and bought a few souvinears and then got back on the ship to enjoy the Wonder's pool, spa and relax as we hadn't been on the Wonder before. It was clear that they had increased security at least at the port, but as far as the rest of the Island I'm not sure as we hadn't gone past the Welcome center.
Castaway Cay was fantastic, low 80's- Mid 80's nice and Sunny the water was a bit cool but it was very nice. There was refurbishment areas blocked off but nothing was intrusive that we saw. Cookie's was delicious, lots of activities going on and 1 of the best days of my life! Can't wait to get there again!
Onboard Activities:
Shows were fantastic we loved Toy Story the Musical, and that was the favorite show of the 3 we saw. We felt The Golden Mickey's was just ok we saw it on the Magic and it was just ok. Disney Dreams was a lot of fun, but we would go to the Matinee if they offer it and use that evening show time to pack instead. They played Old Dogs on Night 3 and that was hilarious we thought it was a cute movie. for the shows we rated the whole lot an 8 out of 10
Night Clubs: we thought it was a nice selection for everyone, the shows were hilarious Glenn Foster was performing and thought his adult show was fun! We enjoyed it! 9 out of 10.
Pool: We loved the Adult Pool but the lack of lounge chairs was disappointing especially when people plop a towel on the chair and then ask their friends to hold their chair as they want to go for a jog on deck 4 and your standing there looking for a chair to use right then. I can't imagine what it will be like on the repositioning cruise on sea days but we never got to use a lounge chair we just put our things down and used the pool and left. Rated 8 out 10.
The Spa: Fantastic! Loved the Rainforest Room and the Tile chairs and we got a 2 day pass to enjoy it on Nassau Day and the Sea Day. never had trouble getting a lounger and never stayed in the chair longer then an hour to give others a chance to enjoy it, I loved the steam room that is in the back and the showers were nice as well.
I had an Aromatherapy Stone Massage and it was nice but I felt overpriced and the hard sales pitch I was given at the end of the Massage really ruined the relaxation. I would skip the massage and just do the Rainforest room myself next time.
The Spa was a 7 out of 10.
DIS'ers are amazing though, we had booked this cruise just 3 weeks before our cruise was to leave, and they welcomed me into the group with open arms. I was also able to join the Fish Extender Exchange and it was a lot of fun to see what everyone had shared with each other! I hope they liked our Snowmen Beach Balls, and the Holiday Rubber Duckies!
If your planning a cruise find your Meet thread and get involved it was fun to meet everyone and say hello!
We had a Fantastic Cruise, a Fantastic Time, and while we did get a bummer of a dining team we wouldn't have changed anything, we had a great time and even with the small frustrations we had a great time and still feel Disney is worth the additional cost for sure!
Off to introduce myself to my new cruise mates as we booked 2 new cruises on board!!
