12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

I think the idea of the formal night sounds good - whoever is around - but who would do the photo (Joy, aren't you a photographer? ;) - - oh, wait! Then you wouldn't be in the picture!!) I haven't done this before. so who would take the picture? The Disney photogs? What if everyone met at 7:45 in the atrium lobby, near the elevators, on formal night? (Sunday?) And for the first photo, what about 4:45, on Deck 10, on Saturday during the Sail Away? :cool1:
I figured I would get the ball rollin'!! No one will offend if they want to offer up another plan!!

Where do you find out when the different tastings are? I did notice the Margarita Tasting (on the spreadsheet) on Monday! :woohoo: And the beer tasting is just before that.....and Palo Brunch earlier still.....I think it is safe to say I may be pretty useless on Monday!!

I think it will be hard to get a photo done by Shutters on Formal night because they have all their photographers set up taking photos already all over in the atrium. If you request Shutters services before getting onboard, you will have to pay for the shooting. If you wait until you get onboard and see when they can do it, there is usually no charge (I've never heard of anyone getting charged, but won't guarantee it won't happen). If we have a list of everyone's cabin numbers, Guest Services will call and let everyone know when the photo shoot will be.

The tastings (wine, beer, martini and margarita/tequilla) can be signed up for once onboard. My guess is that they were on the spreadsheet after looking at past Navigators. They usually have tastings on all of the days at sea.

Keep in mind also to do a private wine tasting, you will have to have a location to do this and you do not want to ask DCL for space. They will charge a corkage fee for each bottle that is brought. Having it in a suite is the best idea or we could just meet up somewhere (depending on how many there are - secret deck 7?) but you will need to have glasses (you can get one from the bar or dining room) as they won't set up glasses in a public place for us.

Still looking for my answers here? :confused3

Gina, as just mentioned in the quote after yours, the tasting schedule will be available when you get onboard. You can get an idea of when they are based on previous Navigators but that is no guarantee when they will happen.

I know the adult pool closes at either 11 pm or midnight, but I'm not sure about the other two as I never use them.

Greetings,

  We've shopped the after Halloween sales for pirate costumes, got the door/room decorations organized, now have Adriana's passport, made the flight/car rental/hotel reservations and bought the new cruise clothes!

DGD (5) is interested in sending/receiving emails from some other young cruisers. She's shy and is afraid she won't have any friends. When I took DGS on his Disney transatlantic cruise, he emailed several other young cruisers and felt like he had some new friends before we left, friends that he still emails 18 months later. So if you have a young cruise, our email address is taxtracker@aol.com (i'm a tax accountant)

thanks and we look forward to meeting you all!

This is from our navigator (2005)

Pool hours: (day of sailing)

Mickey's Slide 1:30-3:30pm & 4:30-6:00pm

Mickey Pool 1:30-10:00pm

Goofy's Pool (closed during sailing) 5:30 - 12:00am

Ouiet Cove 12:30-12:00 am (doesn't mention the hot tub so it must be the same time)

The next day navigator said:

Goofy's Pool -6:00am -9:00pm

Quiet Cove- 6:00am- 12:00am

Mickey Pool- 7:00am- 10:00pm
Mickey slide- 9:00- 6:00 pm

And since the hot tub is in the same place as the adult pool I am guessing it closes at the same time.

These times could have changed since 2005 though. That was the last time I sailed.

Hello,

My daughter is also 5, but not shy. Her name is Kirsten. She makes instant friends with others. We would be happy to email back and forth before the cruise. The pic is in my siggie. Give me a day and I will set up an email account for her and email you.

Hi winotracy!!
Good point on the formal night photos...I think, with all the cameras between us, we could have several photos taken by kind passers-by (or members of our group who really, really, hate having their pictures taken!!):rotfl:
I like the idea of guest services calling us, but that was assuming Shutters was doing the shoot, right?

For the wine tasting, I was thinking we could try to sign up for the same time (or two), not necessarily a private tasting....I know I didn't want to sign up for any of the wine packages last time, because I never knew what I'd be eating, or feel like having to drink with dinner (and besides, I am a sucker for a good frosty drink and a little umbrella....uh, oh yeah, then there's Guinness...but that's another conversation!!) :thumbsup2 But if everyone was game, I'd get my hands on a bottle to share!!party: LOL!!!

Guest Services would call regardless if you just give them a list of room numbers and a message.

I'll be signing up for martini tasting but probably not the other ones. I think the wine tasting is very basic wines that I can get at the Art of Entertaining series.

Wooohooo -- wristband order is in process! I just approved the final artwork.

Here is the proof -- sorry it's such a poor image... I am at work and can't upload a pdf so I converted it to jpeg and hosted it on Photobucket...

It will be lime green with navy blue filling in the debossed areas. We aren't allowed to use the word Disney since it's copyrighted but they did allow me to use DCL.

If anyone is a FL res the discount is out for our cruise! We upgraded to a GTY Cat 6 with the discount yesterday! It was a pixie dust day for us! Just thought I would post the info!   Time to start packing & checking those lists:cool1:

do you think I could just say I am a Florida resident and upgrade? We are dying for a verandah!

Send me some pixie dust!! I have pnemonia and am hoping and praying that it will be completely out of my system by the time we leave....which will be 30 days tommorow!!!

I might have forgotten to do the 31 daysso instead I will do the 30 daysfor all day Wednesday.
I read all the posts and on the Personal Navigators, I found some from January, 2008 at www.magicalkingdoms.com. They are LEGIBLE which was the problem I had with other sites. I have already highlighted things I want to do from those Navigators. I know that some things won't be the same but it was at least a start.
As of tomorrow, I will be on the phone to AAA EVERY day until I have a cabin assignment. I went last week and the agent called Disney and she said that I would have my documents and cabin assignment by 30 days and since it is that as of tomorrow.......Only all of you would understand the EXCITEMENT!!!!! Especially since this my first cruise on Disney and my last cruise on Royal Caribbean was in 1974!
Did get the patches for behind the ear to not get seasick. One step further towards the cruise. Clothes are all set. Have started a box with things for the cruise. Has anyone gone down with 1 piece of luggage with another inside for purchases? I am thinking of putting a duffel inside my 1 checked piece and expanding to 2 pieces on the way back......How is the shopping on the boat and Castaway Cay?
Thanks for all the advice. Thanks, Joy for all you have done. Without this posting I wouldn't be as EXCITED as I am!:cool1:
Next time I post we will be in the 20's. Except for the Hawaiian people. We will be flying in on Friday (the 5th) and staying at the Hampton Inn by the airport. Anyone else going to be there?
Have a magical day. :wizard: Lady Disney:cheer2:

pirate: Hey everybody! I had to post since it will be our 1200th post!! Woohooo! Time sure is going by fast now!! I'm starting to get stuff together for the trip and getting excited. Our countdown calendar is down to 22 days!! can't wait!! Hoping the time flies by.................................
