12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

Yo Ho, Yo Ho a Pirate's Life for me! Aaaarrrrrgggggpirate: It seems like EVERY day I get a little more excited......It is hard to think that in less than 60 days we will all meet up at the Disney Magic! This post has been a life saver in keeping up the "Magic" (no pun intended) as we prepare to Cruise in December. I know, my DH, DS and MIL will all love to be in warm weather in mid December! It is not yet nasty here in Michigan but by December it will be COLD in SNOWY.
The only white I want to see are the warm sands on Castaway Cay! Every day I listen to the Disney Event Party Music CD and have just recently started to listen to the PotC CD's. Now I just need to find some Jimmy Buffet and Island Music and I will be all set to go. Any suggestions on Island Music?
Have a wonderful night. Lady Disney:thumbsup2

I don't think we'll have too many specific activities planned... maybe a meet-n-greet in the terminal during the check-in wait? How about a group photo on embarkation day? Is the Goofy pool open at all during embarkation or do they keep the stage over it until after the Sailaway party? We could get a group photo going on the stage with the Dumbotron in the background...

Not sure what else anyone wants to do *during* the cruise...

Ok.. so if we go to the port at 10AM to check in to see if we could upgrade... what is there to do for 3 hours? :confused3

3 hours? The ship "officially" boards at 1:00 pm, but we have lately been getting onboard before noon. Usually right around 11:30 they start getting ready to board.

The time goes by FAST! You'll stand in line for check-in, which will take probably 15-20 minutes at least... You have to check out the terminal, take pics of the tile floor, the ship model, etc... SOCIALIZE with your fellow cruisers... the time flies by and then you'll be making a last-minute potty break and then it's time to get in line to board!

Gee I hope you are right! My parents do not want to go til noon but I want to be there at 10am cause I figure if we can get a decent upgrade it will be then! The sooner we can get on board the better! We are CC members so hopefully we wont wait 20 minutes but if we do... so be it! We will make do! Hoping they do start letting on between 11:30 and noon! :dance3:

If we board at noon or so what do I do with my luggage? We have always used DCL transp and this time we are using a town car. Will I have to roll it around with me the whole time until my room is ready? :confused3

You always have to cart around your carry-ons until your room is ready... I don't think that has ever changed.

The CC line was longer than the regular line last time we cruised... I mean 10 years in business means ALOT of repeat customers....

No you give your luggage to the porters waiting outside before you enter the terminal. You will only be carrying your carry on luggage if you have any. Sometimes that is a pain to carry around until 1:00 when you can get in your state room.

My line is usually short because I can either go in the CC return line or the non citizen line which usually is shorter yet.

I think the time usually goes pretty fast too. Not sure how we are getting to the port yet. Maybe Tiffany Towncar or Disney transportation if we do the first night on Disney property. We are still working on that detail.

We did get our paper saying we are paid in full now yesterday. Haven't told the kids yet so when my dd got the mail yesterday we said it was junk mail...

We had several carryons last time (just two adults; valuables/clothing in a wheeled suitcase, softsided cooler with alcohol, DH's laptop backpack, and another wheeled suitcase for some reason or another), and didn't really have any issue wheeling it around. We parked it under the table at lunch (Parrot Cay), DH took it into the hallway while I waited in line to book Palo brunch, then parked it next to the lounge chair while we swam in the adult pool. We'll be doing the same thing this year!

I'm going to do our best to cram everything into one carry-on wheeled suitcase, but I'm not even sure how many suitcases we're bringing yet. I heard that porters can no longer take cases of water - can anyone confirm? I don't want to schlep around a case of water with me for hours....

First, I want to say a BIG thank you to "Bubba's Mom" for starting this thread on the website! I forgot to say thank you last night. Sorry. You are a REAL GEM for starting this.
Second, what is the EARLIEST we can get to the port (ie--when is the terminal open for business)? Third, How are we going to find each other in the throngs of NON Dis Board people? I am all for a photo op in the terminal. Also, getting to know everyone!
Since this is our first cruise we will be in the BIG line to check in. When we do our papers on line do we just make copies as we do them and bring that to the counter in the terminal?
So many questions.....so little time! Thanks, Lady Disney

They should have all that on their computer when you get there. I know we well be signing up the kids before we get on and it makes it so much easier. We did have to fill out custom papers when we got there because they only sent us one and were told that we needed one for each family member.:confused3 I think we had the paper that had the confirmation number and our passports and we were in business. If in doubt print it off and bring everything....

I think the terminal opens at 10:00 then you have to go though the x ray machine line ups for your carry on stuff when you go though the first door. Then you take the escalators up to the terminal and get in the right line. After that you wait. They will give you a number( from this number to this number like the airplanes) you will have to wait to hear so that you can board the ship. This is so you don't have to stand in line and can enjoy the rest of the terminal.

Thank you for all the information. I wish I was in line right now. I am having MAJOR Mickey withdrawal!. We are staying at the Hampton Inn at MCO (Orlando Airport) the night before. We are driving ourselves to the Hertz Rental Car depot in Cape Canaveral and then taking their shuttle over to the ship. We hope to be at the terminal by 10 a.m. Has anyone else done the Hertz Rental thing when getting from the Orlando airport and the ship? I hope it goes smoothly....Thanks again, for the information. Each bit keeps the excitement brewing......I am SOOOOOO ready. Lady Disney:yay: :santa: :cool1: :wizard: :cheer2: princess:

We are really looking forward to the cruise also!! First winter one we've ever done and it will be so wonderful to get away from the nasty weather!! Really looking forward to seeing all the decorations also!! The time can't go by quick enough!! :)

We usually go in Feb. to break up the winter blues. But I am pretty excited to see the ship decorated for Christmas. That will be a first for us.

I am so glad we paid off the cruise in full a week ago. Our dollar is dropping fast the last few days. :sad2: Don't think I will have to much spending money this time round.

I just got a call from my best friend and her husband. We've been trying to talk them (and their DD(8) into joining us on this cruise for awhile now. Well apparently they've been checking out the prices and think they can swing it, assuming she's able to get time off of work! Please send some magic pixie dust vibes their way so that they're able to work it out! :wizard:

Anyone know of anybody with any discounts for this cruise that I can point them to?
