12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

We're going to be doing the Candlelight on Nov 30 since John O'Hurley will be the narrator, and he's FANTASTIC!

I'm very said that Gary Sinise won't be here this year though, we love him. :(

I don't think we'll be doing the package this year either, since I'm vegetarian and it's not worth it at that point, plus we have DDE. We do go to Biergarten every year around Christmas though, because we love the show there!

Happy weekend cruisers! I can't believe how close we're getting.

Oh, I think we're goint to switch to early dining... we rarely want to do the late night activities on the ship... I love getting up early and watching as we pull into port, or just enjoying breakfast on the veranda as the sun comes up... so we're going to aim for early... not sure if it's waitlisted now...

Getting ready to book our room at Universal Studios and buy the tickets.

After that, it's just paying off the cruise in time to get the reservations done and saving up for tips and shore excursions and souvenirs!

Hey fellow cruisers!! Hopefully everybody's having a great weekend. Is it just me or has the time been flying by lately? I agree with you Joy, I'd rather drink my tea early on the verandah than stay up late. Although I have heard fantabulous reviews of the midnight dessert buffet, we might have to check that out. :woohoo:

We have early dining and I'm glad we requested it, especially with 4, 6, and 8 year olds. Hopefully they'll be able to switch your family Joy! :)

A few weeks ago we finally got our ADR's finalized for our pre-cruise WDW stay. Now that I have my ADR's I really feel like it's getting close. For all you foodies out there we have ressies for: CRT dinner (for the kids), 50's Prime Time, Narcoosee's, Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Teppan Edo, Yak and Yeti, and Le Cellier.

We also got ressies for the kids to do BBB before dinner at the castle and a pirate cruise at Yacht and Beach club Marina! pirate: Should be fun.

Joy, you'll have to let us know how you liked Universal, we've never been there, only have done Disney in Orlando.

My DD, 6 has been taking her snorkel and mask to the pool and practicing for the cruise!! Before we know it the kids will be back in school :teacher: and the trip will be upon us! :beach:

Oh man, I'm going to miss WDW this year... this is our first trip to Universal and I am hoping the kids enjoy it. I think they're finally old enough to get something out of it. Nick is a roller coaster junkie and Sarah's not afraid of everything anymore.

My kids go back to school in a week! (We're year-round here, which is why we can go cruising at the beginning of December!) Today I have to go pick up school supplies, new backpacks, shoes, etc. We only had 3 weeks off for summer....

You guys should enjoy it! Are you doing IoA as well? We prefer IoA to Universal, hands down. Plus you're going at a great time of the year. If you are at IoA, do see the Grinch story, it's cute.

Though Universal/IoA just don't hold our attention like Disney does, and we don't have kids. We had annual passes a few years back and went exactly 6 times. Disney passes, we've had for 5? years now. The guy at the ticket counter yesterday told me I've used mine 34 times since Dec 5, 2007.

(And yeah...our PAPs come up for renewal on Dec 5. What an EXPENSIVE month that will be! Thankfully the cruise is long paid off.)

Hi all,

Haven't posted in a while.

Well, we have some bad news, and a little good news.

The bad news is, we have had to cancel our December cruise. The only thing we really took a hit on was $300 ($75/pp) on the airfare to cancel, but we can apply the rest to future travel. With my current unemployment situation, the summer rapidly passing, and 2 kids with Catholic school tuition starting up again in a month, it just wasn't realistically doable for us. So, we're looking at dates next August (09) and will decide soon.

On the good news front, we have a new member of the family. For my DW's 40th birthday we got her an italian greyhound. He's a cute little guy, who is 10 weeks old, and of course his name is Mickey. He has helped to soften the blow of not cruising.

I thought i'd post a few pics.

Here's one of him playing ps3 with me lol:

And here's one of him all tired out with DW:

We are pretty sad that we won't be cruising with you all, but we know we'll get that first cruise in sooner or later. Thanks again joy for organizing the site and all. We hope you all have a wonderful time in December! :hippie: :thumbsup2

So sorry you had to change plans. But very understandable. Hopefully you will find something very soon!! And what an adorable new addition!! Hope all goes well for you!! :wizard: :)

Hi :wave2: HiddenMickeys

What a bummer HiddenMickeys! But......what a cute new little Mickey you now have in your family. :dog2: How adorable!! Hopefully you'll be able to get on another cruise soon! Here's some pixie dust......pixiedust:pixiedust:

Just found you guys and enjoy catching up on the preparations for the cruise. My wide and I will be on cruise #2 on the 12/8 sailing and looking forward to a great time! Can i be approved for the google group? I am a Disney addict not looking to recover any time soon.....

I just showed this typo to my DH and he said..."ooohh, bad dog, no biscuit!" :pluto::rotfl2:

But, on the otherhand...Welcom Sleepyluke!! Can't wait to meet you!!

Okay, so remember the deal I got on our flights? (Roundtrip Sacramento to Orlando, 2 for free with Delta SuperSaver Skymiles and 2 cash for about $250 plus taxes).

Anyhow... the flight times changed AGAIN (this always happens to us on every trip and I'm used to it by now), so I call Delta to reconfirm the flight change and while I've got him on the phone, I notice that our layover is now 2 hours long, and I asked if there was anything with a shorter layover.

He finds one that leaves an hour earlier so we only have an hour layover. Switches everything over, all cool, and I ask him about the seat assignments since we're on 2 separate itineraries... I need to make sure we're seated near each other if possible. He said they were together and rattled off SINGLE DIGIT seat numbers... you know what that means...

I didn't say anything at the time but I just logged on and it looks like we're in FIRST CLASS on our 1st leg and Business Class on our 2nd leg. Is this possible? I'm almost certain they'll either figure it out or bump us (December is a long ways away!) but I'm just basking in the possibility that we'll fly first class on the way to Orlando. I s'pose it's too much to ask that they won't change the flights again and nobody else will take a 2nd glance at these seat assignments.

I feel sorry for this poor agent, who I'm sure didn't quite know what he was doing. Delta can't afford to have its agents giving away First Class seats to passengers purchasing seats using air miles and Super Saver ones at that! How crazy would it be to have 4 first class seats for under $600?

Joy that is awesome, you guys totally deserve it! We haven't bought our tickets yet but just found out we'll be in Virginia the week of Thanksgiving for T-day and my step-mom's big milestone bday. So while hubby needs to fly back and work the week in between, the kids and I may take the train down from Washington DC to Florida and go to Sea World for a few days. Paul will fly home from DC to Minneapolis, work the week and then fly down to Orlando on Friday.

That is IF I can make the $$ work out for the extra week's vaca for me and the kids. :thumbsup2

LOL, my DH is of the opinion that jackets are useless since most men take them off as soon as they sit down to eat anyway. Yup, we probably will pack nice slacks, maybe even black Dockers, shirt and tie only... For my DH, that IS dressed up!

uh Joy, at the other end of your table there will be 3 in tuxes and one in an evening gown. Hmmm, maybe we need to compromise and meet in the middle! :)

Hello fellow cruisers!! WOW, some of you have been posting for awhile. I am so impressed. We booked our cruise back in March, and my kids have requested that we never ever tell them so far in advance. The anticipation is really killing us! :hyper: Anyway, this is our first Disney cruise and we couldn't be happier. DH and I went on a Carnival Western Caribbean cruise for our honeymoon. We are taking our two boys, along with my sister Lisa, her DH Scott, and her boys: Josh (5) and Brady (3). Also my mom, little brother Ryan (18) and sister Kacee (20). Big group!! :grouphug: I have been quite obsessed with trying to plan every little detail, but am finding it really difficult to decide when to go to Palo for dinner. I'm so torn. I've read lots of advice from people, but I'm still undecided. I'm going to need Disney to throw in an extra night... BONUS! :goodvibes As for excursions, we're thinking of setting up parasailing and the zipline in St. Maarten (through outside companies), the Buck Island Catamaran Sail & Snorkel in St Thomas, and the Castaway Cay Getaway Package. Also, after the cruise is over... we're going to WDW for 4 days and staying at the All Star Movie Resort. We're even trying out the Disney Dining plan for the first time. So, I would appreciate any advice from you lucky ones with experience with all this!! Oh, has anyone heard about something called the Surial Bath offered at the Spa? I'm intrigued and am thinking of setting it up for DH and I! Anyway, looking forward to chatting... my family and friends are sick of talking about this with me!! :rolleyes1 THANKS!!

welcome Sheri! You're from Utah, can we assume you scrapbook? :)

Hi all... I have only briefly scanned all the posts on this thread... it's exciting and overwhelming to see how many people are connecting prior to the trip!
My sister, her partner, and two sons took the 3 day cruise last year and called upon returning informing me that I WOULD be going with them on this cruise.
Sooo I'm heading out with my mother, my daughter Susan who will be 8, and my daugter Kate who will be 5. This will be our first real vacation since my husband passed away in March of 2007. It's much needed. Having Mom in the stateroom with us enables me to have some "me" time, as well as my sister and her family along.
I see, from the brief amount of reading that I did tonight, that I should get all the info... stateroom, dinners, what have you. This is my first cruise, and it will be my daughters first trip ANYWHERE other than to relatives around New England.
Good Lord, a "first" plane ride with two little ones and just me. Thankfully, I'm used to flying.
So I'm off to bed, but I'm looking forward to checking in tomorrow and over the next several months.
...
Hidden Mickeys, as your posts were on the last page, I did read up on your situation. I'm from the Red Bank area... I'll have you and your family in my prayers tonight.

~Kathy Rose

Kathy, welcome aboard and I'm so sorry to hear about your husband.

Hey all - I've lost track of where I was updating the roster on the Google Group site, so if you are not on there, let me know your info so I can add you.

We have a Google Group site? I need to check this out! Man I am out of it!

Anybody been on the Google Group recently? I haven't looked in a long time, not even sure I remember my password? :confused3
