12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

Hi all! Just checking in since it's been awhile. Can't wait for December and I'm super excited about the stocking idea! I can see it now I can use our new shared last name! Woo hoo! Sorry I'm thinking being so recently newlywed at that point it will still be a novelty!

I'm spending my Sunday catching up on the boards and watching the travel channel's Disney Cruise Line special..... I sooooo want it to be December but I'm soooooo not anywhere near ready for it yet!:lmao:FYI it's the travel channels season of Disney so they may be replaying this special all month for those who need a DCL fix :rotfl:!

Well, 8 months from today we'll all be boarding. :cool1: I agree, I wish it was tomorrow, but after looking at the ol' bank account I'm glad we have 8 months left. :rotfl2:

I totally feel the same way HiddenMickeys!! We are also going on our first cruise!! I almost have enough saved up to pay off the trip (both the cruise and WDW), but then I'll need to save up lots of spending $$! Oh yeah!! Here's to the time flying by!!:cheer2:

Hi all:wave2:
I'm just updating you on what I've decided to do. I AM flying in on the 5th and spoke to my DU agent, Tracy and she booked us for the Caribean resort the night prior to sailing and magical express picks us up from MCO and brings us to the resort and I am getting transfers to get to and from the ship (which I needed in any case) She used my AAA discount for the resort and it came out to $134.00:thumbsup2 ...not bad. I'm not going to the theme parks or anything I'll just lounge and do the pool scene w/ the kids (they love to swim) But I think this is the best decision...God forbid the flights come in late if I were to fly in the day OF the cruise. I STILL have not purchased tickets for the flights...waiting for specials...even with the price of gas there will be better prices closer to the dates. Hope everyones doing great!! I like the stocking idea also...I just wish I knew how to decorate...I'm lucky I know how to switch on my pc lol.

Hi Linda ;)

Tracy (yes, that one!)

It is so expensive to fly to FL from the west coast that we make it an all-out trip every other year, so we will spend a few days at WDW first.. usually we do a week at WDW and a week cruise (ideally) but I have to be at work to close out reports on the 1st of the month so we will fly out on the 2nd, giving us only 3 whole park days. We will take a limo to the port on Saturday morning.

Last cruise, 20 of us went in together and rented a Hummerzine, which was great fun and fairly decently priced ($30/person) but was a logistical nightmare that I don't care to relive. I think we will book a limo/towncar from the resorts to the port, then from the port to Universal, and then I have to figure out how to get from Universal to the airport... probably another limo... can't give up luxury by then!

Limo prices really aren't all that bad if you are a family of 4 or more. We decided to book one that will take us from mco to the port the night before (staying at the radisson on the 5th) and then they have a free shuttle to the port. After the cruise the limo will take us back to mco. RT for the limo was $305 (with a coupon from mousesavers). Considering the DCL transfers were $69pp (and we're a family of 4) thats $276. I don't mind paying the extra $29 plus tip for the extra room. :thumbsup2 Once the dust settled, it was actually LESS money for us to book the limo and the radisson (WITH a jacuzzi tub i might add lol) than dcl transfers and the airport hyatt. :lmao:

That's the same price for the one that I was going to recommend, FLTours.com. A town car roundtrip with FLTours for four would be $190.

Well, we had a great opportunity come our way for a free trip to Hawaii at the end of November, so we decided to bump our cruise back to August 2009, and we are ending up with it cheaper! And DD will be 4, so more willing to try WDW for a day.

I was looking forward to meeting people here. Enjoy!!!

Oh bummer!

But who can blame you for a free trip to Hawaii. :beach: Enjoy your trip this year and Happy Sails next year. :wave2:

Hi All,

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I'm Deb ( Cass's mom ) and yes, we're finially booked for the cruise. Just added our airline tickets this morning, booked our room at the radisson for the night prior, and reserved the car service we always use. I've tried to read as many posts as I can....and wow there's alot of them. Would love to get the t-shirts...the designs I've seen are really cute. Also, would love to participate with the stockings and such....especially since the day we leave is officially St Nicks day! I think it would be great for the little ones especially to have something when they get back to the rooms. I'll be here on and off....don't have a whole lot of down time due to my job, but I'll try to keep up. Look forward to getting to know you all!! :)

Hi Everyone!

I just saw over on the main board that there is a shuttle launch scheduled for 12/4/08. I just wanted to make everyone aware because if you want to stay at a hotel in the area they tend to book up far in advance. Many shuttle launches are delayed so I would imagine that many people might book rows for multiple nights around that time frame. I was not planning on making hotel reservations until this summer but I think I am giong to do some research and get booked this weekend just in case.

On the upside we got to see the shuttle launch from the Magic in December 2006 and if the shuttle is delayed this time we might get a chance to see it again. And to think I thought it might be a once in a lifetime event. :woohoo:

sorry to those with park plans but......*is secretly hoping for BIG TIME rain on 12/4 and 12/5* :lmao: :rotfl2:

Well it looks like it is scheduled to be another night launch with an 11 PM time on the 4th. If I remember correctly I think the launch window gets pushed back about 20 minutes or so each day so it could be between 11:30 - Midnight if they launch on the 6th. I doubt we could stay in the port area that late and still arrive on time to St. Maarten. I wonder if they would try to stay in the area before leaving if the launch was delayed to the 6th or if we would see it from out at sea....still very cool.

This launch is already looking to be delayed a couple of months (all but official). On the launch time, it does move back about 23 minutes per day...but that means 11pm the 4th becomes about 10:15pm the 6th, etc.

Thanks! I was not sure which way it moved. It would be very cool to see a launch but I won't be too disappointed if it does not happen. :)

Hi Guys,

Welcome to the newbies.

Beca, Thank you for the Launch info. It would be so cool to be able to see that.

Hey Everyone!

Has anyone here stayed at the Ron Jon Resort before? How close is it to the beach and what did you think of the place? I don't know where we should book our pre-cruise hotel stay. We will probably get in town by 3 or so on the Friday so we won't be spending a great deal of time there.

Bump back to the top before we get lost ;)
