12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

I think we're going to take a taxi over to Downtown Disney on Thursday the 5th and have dinner at the new T-Rex Cafe.

Anyone else planning to do some shopping at DTD on Thursday night?

SWEET!!! Lucky you!! :yay:
You will be the first in our group to get them!

You got them first then!

Last time we got our room assigned 4 weeks out (booked 12 GTY, got moved to Deck 1 Cat9) and then were given an upgrade as we were actually boarding the ship.

We're still in 6042 according to the website, which is fine as well since we picked it too :)

I forgot to mention earlier that we got our cruise docs yesterday from UPS. So you all should be seeing yours soon. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Actually, Dom and I got ours on Monday.

We are staying across the street from DTD at the Buena Vista Palace for that night. I hope to meet up with another Disser there that will be in WDW all week.

Maybe I will see you there too!

Do you have any information on the T-Rex Cafe?

Wait isn't the 5th Friday and not Thursday?

I mean Thursday the 4th... Friday we are going to go to Margaritaville for dinner and wander around CityWalk.

I am so loving answering the door today. UPS guy just delivered my Magical Express tags!

Now we have transportation to the airport on the way back since we are staying at POR the night we get of the ship.

Still looking for transportation to the boat and to the hotel. We don't want to use the Disney Buses back to the resort because it is $69./person where a town car is much cheaper. But which company to use?

Just had the terrible phone call from my sister JOEYMAC who is joining us on the cruise. Her oldest son jumped off the climbing wall last night and broke his heel:eek:

I just posted a question on the main board to see if anyone has experience flying with a cast, the Dr. didn't seem too keen on it I guess. Anyway they are off to the hospital tonight for his cast, too much swelling last night to put one on.

Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well. My poor sister, traveling with 2 kids, and the oldest in a cast. We will be meeting her in Orlando with some kind of delicious beverage I hope.

 Hope all goes will with the cast. Maybe the doctor thinks it would swell up in the cast if he flies :confused3 My ankles and feet do that with out a cast on so maybe that is it.

At least you will be there to help when she gets off the plane if they are still allowed to go.

Hopefully they can give him a diuretic to flush the extra fluid from his body and help to prevent too much swelling....

Okay, wait, I just googled it... it does appear that most medical profs don't fully cast for flight... they will do half-casts, split casts, or elastic bandages. Perhaps one of those options will work... or one of those air casts... they are adjustable, right?

Hi Michelle2 and KarenNY! Welcome to the group!

If you'd like to participate in the madness, please PM me your email addresses and I'll send along some links and stuff for our cruise group.
Thanks! I will be sure and do that.

hawaiian mickey
I just joined and its already here, wow!
I'm sure you will find something do with your free time.:rolleyes1

I have a DS 11 and DD 8 . I see you have two almost three teens. I can hardly handle my DS's drama , he is 11 going on 18. The girl is fine so far but people warn me that could change.

Actually there are quite a few couples and no kids on board here.

I'm just happy to get out of the cold and not have to cook or clean.
I totally agree, me too!
Welcome Michelle2!:)

Welcome to Michelle2 and KarenNY!!
:cheer2:

Hi,

My DGS (5) were also on the Magic transatlantic last year too! It was a great cruise! It will be exciting to see the changes to the ship, as it was in dry dock earlier this year. We booked this cruise, whilst on the Magic last year, this year it is the DGD's turn.:cloud9:

taxtracker@aol.com

Thanks so much for all the welcomes! I know that I just sailed with Tracy on the EB Repo, and now someone from the EB Med repo, that is great!
Congrats to all who are getting their docs!

From the Orlando Sentinel

Disney Cruise LIne is preparing to unveil overhauled theaters on both of its cruise ships that the company says will make its vessels the first to feature 3-D onboard movies. The company plans to premiere the new technology first on the Nov. 20 sailing of the Disney Wonder out of Port Canaveral, with a screening of the upcoming animated movie Bolt. By early 2009, Disney says, it plans to supplement the 3-d movies with new in-theater effects, including lasers, fog, streamers and stage lighting.

OMG, the 3D would be awesome if we had it for our cruise. My kids are BUGGING to go see "Bolt in 3D"!!!! and I told them we'd see it on the ship but they are like "but it's not in 3D"....

I am also hoping for Photopass to be up and running by the time we get there. I would much rather pay $150 for a CD of all the formal images than $150 for prints. I never do anything with the prints!

I am getting so stressed out (I always do this before vacation). I feel like I have a million things to do and no time... I am slammed with holiday sessions right now and even though I told myself that I would stop sessions by November 15th, I would up scheduling one for the day after Thanksgiving. That's not much time to process and proof! But business is business and in today's economy, I'm not one to turn down earning potential, especially if it means I can book one more massage on board!

So let's see where we're at...

DH took his suit in for alterations, and got his measurements for his tux rental.
I still need dress shoes for DS.
I need to order our cruise baskets from Shirley.
My shopping list is getting longer and longer, ugh.

It's a nice kind of stressed though :)

You sound like me! I have to take my dress for alterations, luckily I have a friend who can do this.
I have to get a new bathing suit
I need shoes for my dress
I have to get some necessities for my travels
I have my luggage out and slowly throwing things in there as I get them. I just dont want to forget anything!
BUT.. it is a good stress! YEAH! :yay:

Ok... I want to do something nice for my parents but dont have a lot of $$$ to spend. They paid for this trip as a christmas/birthday gift so just as a thank you I wanted to do something. Anyone have any suggestions? I thougth about getting something from Shirley delivered to the ship but she cannot do food items correct? Any thoughts? They are not spa people so that would not work plus too much for me. Any thoughts on the disney cruise gifts?

TIA! Gina

What a great idea..... how about?

surprise them with palo reservations and you've paid the bill

get someone to take a family portrait (i would be willing to do - and have a professional camera) and present to them at Christmas framed? you would only be out the cost of the print and frame. you can get an 8 by 12 for 1.50 and a 11 x 14 for 2.99. get a michael's 50% coupon for a mat and frame.

decorate the room, door yourself -- fanagle getting their room key under some guise whilst they eat lunch. check out all the disney items at the dollar tree or 99 cent store. or buddy up with their cabin steward to arrange a time.

make a disney scrapbook of your memories from the cruise -- michael's has a 50% off coupon every week and have great disney scrapbooks.

it's a great thought and a gift from the heart means so much more than splashing out with alot of money. your parents will appreciate the gesture and be proud of you for staying within your budget. princess:
