12/5 to 12/7 - Saturday vs. Sunday for DL/DCA - Strategy?

Hi all,

We arrive at GCH late on 12/4 (Friday). We are visiting the parks on 12/5 (Saturday) and 12/6 (Sunday). I know it is going to be very busy considering its the Christmas season and it being the weekend of the Candlelight Processional (which we do not plan on attending).

Our tentative plan is as follows:
  • 12/5 (Saturday) - DL in morning (EE); DCA in evening (Pixar Parade; WOC)
  • 12/6 (Sunday) - DCA in morning (EE); DL in evening (Christmas Parade; PTN; DL Forever)
My general thought process is that DL will be busier on Saturday night, so we should watch PTN and DL Forever on Sunday night (in violation of HydroGuy's Fireworks Rule--I know). My logic on Saturday vs. Sunday night is that: (1) Touring Plans says Saturday at DL will be more busy; and (2) I would guess that APs would be less likely to stay late on a Sunday night to watch PTN and DL Forever with work/school the following monday morning. However, SoCal APs are blocked on Saturday, but not Sunday (SoCal Select APs are blocked on both Saturday and Sunday), which could make a difference in crowds.

What do y'all think? Should I do DL on Saturday night and DCA on Sunday night instead? Any other suggestions or thoughts?

Any suggestions, thoughts, or comments are greatly appreciated!

Sound logic to me. I'd add the MadTParty to your DCA night visit. It be fun.

I am sort of thinking the same thing for Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend. I was trying to keep track of wait times last weekend and it seemed like DL was busier on Sunday, but that could just be a fluke!

Disneyland always seems busier to me on Sunday's than Saturdays!

I agree. Sunday nights are always more crowded to me than Saturday, especially for things like parades and shows. I would rather be in DL on Saturday night.

Of course for the OP, they have to contend with Candlelight. So that is a bit different. I am not sure if one narrator is more popular than another?

Thank you all for the advice!!! I am thinking I may switch our plans around to watch the DL parades and shows on Saturday instead. Although Geena Davis (with more name recognition) is the narrator on Saturday night, it appears that most people are excited for Sunday night's narrator, Lana Parrilla.
