12/5/09 -- DUMMY -- The Cruise Your Heart Desires Most ; )

That is wonderful news!!!:dance3: :yay: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: A good way to start the New Year off!!

That's so great to hear! Prayers are still being sent his way that he continues to improve.
.

Woo Hoo!

Good to hear..some good news finally!

Thank you all!!! Only ONE more chemo treatment left!!!! It is in 2 wks (that Tuesday/Wednesday)........ Then we know it will be at least a couple of months (maybe a little longer) of recovery.
But, right now we all feel like a huge weight has been lifted with the controlling of the white/red blood cells.
The Dr had told him that everytime they fell to nothing she felt like they were playing Russian Roulette with his life. :sad2:

Arlene -- I told him that I couldn't wait until he was no longer talking/acting crazy all the time! ;)
I can tell him *Hey, is this the steroids or the Chemo talking?* The last time that he was being admitted to the hospital I finally had to tell him to be quiet and I would talk to the nurses. ;)

He is looking forward to no longer being all swollen/bloated!!!! :rotfl:

Monica, how's your Mom doing? Last I remember reading, she doing pretty well. Hope that's true and that she's recovered nicely.

Thanks for asking. She's doing GREAT! The first few days home she was worried because she still wasn't feeling well. I gave her 'permission' to lay in bed all day. She feels guilty if she's not up doing something, you know how moms are. Anyway, she finally started feeling stronger and even went on an outing today with the Senior Center. She's tired but feels good.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not CES.....

I didn't want to hear those letters again....

(i was working for their registration company)

You did get your badges already i hope..... Registration is not free on-site anymore.

Yeah,

I got MY badge - however one of my friends has NO badge - and we're hoping he can obtain a badge holder somewhere without showing ID because I have the mailed pass for another friend who was going but canceled. I think we should be able to obtain a badge holder somewhere - somehow - otherwise my friend is prepared to pay the $200 on site reg fee.

We finally adopted a dog and brought her home January 1st.

I've got to get new batteries for my camera so I can get better pics.

She is 4 and 1/2, housebroken, ignores our cats, and listens to me better than my kids do:laughing:

She is a mutt with a bit of Australian cattle dog.

Can't tell you how many neighbors I've met since we got her. She gets along great with all the neighbor's dogs too:woohoo:

So far only bad habits are she eats the cat food and barks a lot when someone comes to the door. We got a cat tower to keep the cat food away from her. Just gotta get used to the extra door announcements now:rolleyes1

Nothing like showing a new pupy around the neighborhood to breask the ice with some neighbors! I've always been one to chat it up with new neighbors when they stroll by with new pets!

I thought I would let y'all know that so far my brother's blood cell count is staying in the *normal* range! :dance3: :dance3:

It hasn't done that in 2 months!!!!

So tomorrow I'm off for CES.... and on he weekend I've got a SURPRISE BIRTHDAY DINNER PARTY planned for Alicia! It's sort of modest and intimate in scale - no extraveganza by any means.... but it so far looks to be well concealed! We'll soon see if it comes off OK! Now I gotta get some rest!

Cheers!

Here is a picture of the puppy we are hoping to adopt....I had told Tori after my final procedure in February we could get a dog but I fell in love with the little guy's picture....I put in the application tonight...Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Aw sorry Des! He was a little cutie!

I know a dog you can have cheap cheap! She's a 7 y/o cockerpoo named Rosie who likes to pee when guests come in the house, if you talk to her in a high pitched voice, or if she thinks you're about to bathe her, clip her nails, yell at her, etc. She will gladly chew a hole right through your wall if you leave her for any length of time or she'll go right through the screen door if she knows you went to the neighbors without her. Sometimes she will escape from the backyard to run to these same neighbors because they spoil her rotten. She growls & snaps at anyone who comes near her if she is chewing a bone, eating, sleeping in my bed (which she apparently thinks is hers), if you touch her back or if she just doesn't know you & you approach her too quickly. She will sit on the back on any furniture to see out the window (said furniture turns black from her paws after a while) & she barks at everything that moves. She spends many days hiding under the coffee table shaking like a leaf, because of thunder, fireworks, beeping cell phones, toy guns, etc. She's a bit neurotic but such a joy!

I wish there was an excuse for Richs swelling and bloating.lol.We just got back from the hospital for his bi weekly drips. He seems to be adjusting better now.No adverse reactions other than the tiredness. Sorry to see Greg is back in the hospital with that infection you just posted about on facebook.I hope it gets cleared up ASAP.Never thought a pimple could be so dangerous. My friend at work found the most awful infection on her daughters rear end this week. She was thinking it must have been a bug bite that got terribly infected. She commented that she just had no words to describe it .:scared1: They had to perform a minor procedure Monday and yesterday when she brought her back to remove the packing the other Dr now wanted her to stay. Seems they are arguing whether it was a bug bite or ???? They finally did let her take her home but they have to come back everyday for IV antibiotics til it clears up. .Poor thing. She drives over 40 min to work everyday and we both work 10 hour shifts. The thought of having to go to the ER everynight when you get home from work . Ugh.Doesn't look like she will be getting too much sleep.

Steph,We'll keep Greg in our thoughts that he gets over this quick....:grouphug:

I went back to work today.....God am I tired!! :faint: It's good to be back though. I received a lot of "Welcome Backs" and "We really missed your smile" from the teachers, the Principal came in the kitchen and gave me a big hug. It's nice to know that they missed me. ;)
