12/5/09 -- DUMMY -- The Cruise Your Heart Desires Most ; )

Oh it was YOU that picked the song Steph??? That's okay, I was just teasing anyway. I'm not sure there is a song out there that we would've stayed in sync with without practice. Except maybe Tequila...which I did recommend BTW! ;) :lmao:

We could do Mike's solo.:lmao: :lmao:

Awesome picture! I really really miss you guys! :guilty:

:lmao: :rotfl: I don't think any of us were good enough to read and sing at the same time! :rotfl2:

I actually had my glasses on my eyes to read the words.:rolleyes1

Sure would be nice to know if/where I am working next week.

Please keep appropriate appendages crossed...

Book it Dano!!;) (Did you get it!!):confused3

Yeah, you guys really put your heart and soul into the chorus ... as for the rest .. well .. uh .. hmmm :lmao:

That is because we needed you there.

:rotfl:

I'm not sure if my interview today went good or not so good.

In my favor though is that one of the interviewers was the girl who had my position at the county before me. (Yeah she quit too  )

So maybe it just seemed shorter because they kinda already knew what my work history was on my last job and didn't have too many questions on that front.

They will be notifying everyone by next week though. (:worship: )

So if I get this job it will be a great b-day present i guess. (Oct 2)

But I can't have any vacation time for 6 months though. (DOH :headache: )

(I'm good for end of May trip though  )

Keeping everything crossed for you!!:flower3:

Keeping everything crossed for everyone job interviewing!

Lookd at the dates and anything would work for us except the problem of $$ which we are saving to do DCL in 2011...so looking at maybe a trip to WDW and a 7 day or something like that.

Have a great Tuesday!

So we could do a reunion down at WDW!!:woohoo: :yay: :woohoo:

To think my bottle of DCL champagne made it home thanks to the suggestion of Christian and a DCL towel!!!:worship: I don't think I will wait til next anniversary to open it..........New Years Eve sounds like a reasonable time!!!

We still have our bottle from our Feb 2006 sailing! LOL!

Look how many problems you and I have solved in the past wo years!!:worship:

Many!

I just love the sense of you British!!!(Yes.......I know you are Welsh!!):lmao:

You do know how to get him! LOL!

I actually thought it looked better on video than it did for real!!:worship:

Sounded like a great idea after a few Diet Sprite and Pineapple flavored rum drinks.;)

What was my excuse? I hadn't drank anything but water! :rotfl:

pixiedust: I hope you findout soon!!!!!

:sad1: I'm more than a little worried about airfare for 4 to Europe as well:guilty:

That's what kept us away from the Med cruises for summer of 2007.

Plus...my MiL is insisting on coming too:scared:

I'm worried about airfare for us, also.... Matbe I'll get the kids to start asking for gift cards for christmas/b-days from their grandparents! ;)

Aruba---that sounds nice. Tom are you moonlighting as a travel agent? :lmao:

2010 repos if true won't work for us. That will be Katie's first year in middle school, so couldn't miss the first weeks. Oh, well maybe something else. Of course 2010 is the year I celebrate the big 5-0! So what to plan? :confused3
We will know in a week or 2.

He must be -- his suggestions are working on my dh!!!

Since quite a few of us will be that age (with in a year or so of each other) maybe something fun will come up......

Spent the weekend being a booth captain at our church Festival. below are some pictures of Tori and Richard playing in the booth. It is called Water Wars..primarily..you buy a bucket of water baloons and launch them at your friends. The school teachers each took a turn too ala "dunk booth" Kids could buy balloons to launch at the teachers but the teachers couldn't launch back.

Have a great Tuesday!

I'm glad that you survived! It looks like it was lots of fun --- I bet you were exahsted by the end of the weekend! LOL!

The Repo dates are no good for us as in April 2010 Alex will just about be starting his A'Level exams with the results in the second week of August.

Then, about the start of the third week in September, he will be leaving home to start University. Like you, the end of August would be perfect.

The fact that he wants his own stateroom are irrelevant - we want him to come.:)

David

If we didn't care if Samantha could come with us the dates wouldn't be a big deal... BUT, as of now we really like her! LOL! When Michael & Katherine were her age we wouldn't have brought thme with us --- they were the kind of teenagers that *know everything* and we (as parents) must be idiots! :lmao:
Samantha is NICE! LOL!

Good news --

We closed on one of houses last night -- BUT, now I have to really get teh rest of our stuff out of it!

We didn't know that we were going to close until about an hour before. They had wanted to do it today and dh said *That's great but, I'll be in Mexico.* (dh left early this morning) The buyer (and dh) didn't want to wait until Monday -- I did!. So, we closed last night.

I am NOT a person that likes last minute plans. I have a tendency to panic and be really rude/mean to everyone. I try to control it but, it shows through....:sad2:

A family reunion at WDW would be fun! If you all decide to do that..let me know..we would definitely be in for that...we are looking at DCL in 2011 and either a new ship or a new itenerary.

Ditto! I'm all for a WDW reunion! :thumbsup2

Congrats on the closing Steph! I don't do well with stress either. I try so hard to be patient, but once things start going unexpectedly, I start acting like a raving lunatic! :sad2:

We are discussing this very thing over on the 8/17 thread. Possibly pirating one over the water parks as a WDW version of CC.

We're already talking about a visit to WDW next summer as well - possibly combined with a side trip into WDC. My BIL in Boston was going to come down to WDW and WDC to meet up with us - however the precise dates have not been aired. I tend to think it would be August though. Maybe I can shift our trip to match up with everyone the plans being formed here?

Changing channels here... last nite I spoke with about 100 other families on behaf of our old preschool - which was being threatened with UNFAIR cancellation of thier contract to opertate the school. It seems someone in the city is attempting to abruptly circumvent the bidding process to put a new operator in substitution. The new operator has not been shown to be better qualified or to improve the relationship with the city (revenue or quality of service to the community). EG, the new operator has been CLOSING local pre-schools they have run - they do NOT operate any INFANT care or TODDLER programs - and DO NOT operate a 7-6PM program - only part day ... and they have nothing like the Nationally recognized accredation of our old Roots and Wings program. Furthermore, several examples of questionable conduct and merit have been demonsrated by the city finance people and proposed new operator... and so we had a large organized prescence with several prepared statements ... including one which took several of us to read in consecutave fashion. I was one of 3 speakers who drew loud applause before the mayor requested we hold the applause down. Also, one person saw me specificly speaking on City TV last nite and jumped in their car (ANGRY) over what she heard was happening - and spoke at the council as well. I was one of a couple who were singled out to amplify my comments to the council - as council members were asking me to clearify certain statements I made (infammatory). Yes ... I was a bit outspoken - however it was nominally diplomatic in defense of those who were being UNFAIRLY targeted... and threatened with destruction of thier business and destruction of the preschool which has come to pass as a great local feature of our community. Here's a simple info link for any who might be curious as to what I'm in a "huff" about here... and I might add Rogers' daughter shared a pre-school class with my daughter many years ago here... http://rootswings.info/Background.htm

At any rate - here are a couple of images of me (the trouble maker in red) shot by friends in the audience in the council chamber last nite...

Good luck K and M on the interviews!
Kristina, my daughter had so much fun with your DD and pyramid2000's DD. She is keeping in touch with them through email. I know she had a great time!
We were planning to go to WDW in 2009 for free dining, but we may be able to move it up if everyone is thinking about August.

I just love the sense of you British!!!(Yes.......I know you are Welsh!!):lmao:

I can cope with being British - that's what is on my passport after all. Wales is the country of my birth and being Welsh is what I am proud to be. BUT NEVER call me English - I may live in England but that is it.

To be born Welsh is to be born privileged.
Not with a silver spoon in your mouth.
But music in your blood and poetry in your soul.

About Wales

Wales is 256 kms from North to South and is about 96 kms wide

The population of Wales is approximately 3 million.

Welsh (Cymraeg) is one of the oldest living languages in Europe.
The language is referred to within Wales as Iaith y Nefoedd (The language of Heaven)

The Welsh National emblems are the leek and the daffodil

The National flag is the Red Dragon passant on a green and white field.

The national musical instrument is the harp (the instrument of Heaven).

Lesson over !! :)

My family took a driving trip into Wales a few years ago. We visited Pembroke where a friend was working for a few weeks - we stayed at a bed & breakfast farm - saw Pembroke Castle (is that correct? as shown above) - then went on to explore other parts of the UK (Stonehedge, London) and parts of France.

ok so has anyone seen the pics of the Bay Lake Tower DVC models...

Is it just me or does the decor look like a bad Tar-jhay modernish knockoff....?

I think the location is great but after looking at the pics...I'd rather stay at one of the other 6 resorts. (WL or BW or BC or OKW)

We could do OKW grand villas (sleeps 12 + [plus being the air mats you bring for your kids :) ] for only 45 points per night s-th or 107 pts fri or sat nites. {August 16th - 31st} Although our schools go back the week before labor day.

I'm voting for a Sat through tuesday'ish stay. (ie extended weekend) at least as a group and then peeps could stay wherever if they wanted to stay the rest of the week.

Excellent Tom !!

I've been to Pembroke Castle in the 1970s with my parents. It's a fairly good example of a medieval castle. We lived about 90 miles east of Pembroke.

On the map we lived about 15 miles just south of the Brecon Beacons.

It's great to visit but I'm not ready to move back:rolleyes1

I posted on the other thread, but just thought I would chime in here. Looks like we'll be at WDW in mid-June this coming summer for our 20th Anniversary! It would be wonderful to have a "family reunion" with everyone :thumbsup2 We like June since it doesn't seem as insanely hot as July and early August and the crowds aren't quite as huge (busy, but not insanely crowded).

If it ends up that everyone else is going a different time, we can try and come for a quick couple day trip if airfare and hotels aren't totally crazy....

That's probably when we'll be at WDW too. When I graduate, I'm considered an Executive-In-Training, and can be a little flexible in my work schedule. Once I get my license, I'll officially be a pharmacist, at which point, I'll be starting out with no vacation time. Hopefully, I'll pass the boards and law exam on the first try, and will get my license by mid July. So we'll probably head down just as soon as the kids finish schoool in June.
