12:30 Miami Port Arrival Time Strategy

I forgot to do our check in right away, and our assigned time is 12:30 (Miami). We will be coming from a hotel in a rental car, what time do you think I should arrive? We would like to get on ASAP because kids will be hungry for lunch, but also don't want to be waiting around for a long time. Thanks!

I haven't boarded in Miami, but I would recommend 12:30. PATs only start at 11am in Miami, and I've heard the waiting area can get crowded. With a 12:30 PAT, arriving any earlier than your PAT is not likely to get you on the ship any quicker, and you should have minimal waiting with that arrival.

We boarded the Magic in Group #1 in December. We arrived at the Port of Miami around 11:00 am, but boarding for us didn't start until around 11:45 so we were sitting around for a while. I would follow lanejudy's advice and get there at 12:30 to minimize your wait time at the port.

We dropped the luggage off at 12:15 and were inline by 12:35- once we got checked in it was open boarding so walked right on (maybe a 5/7 min wait) and we were sitting at Cabanas by 1:00

My only additional comment from our recent Miami experience is give yourself time to park if you need to. The garage in Miami was right by the terminal but it still took time to drop luggage and then find a parking spot. I also thought it was kind of confusing knowing where to go when we arrived at the port. There weren’t any signs for Disney just terminal letters and they don’t have a dedicated terminal so we had to just look for the ship which wasn’t too hard but if we had missed it might have led to some driving around.

When we cruised out of Miami, there was plenty of searing in the terminal. Much more seating than we have seen at port canaveral. We had a hard time figuring out where to park in Miami. We were sailing out of an end terminal, but ended up having to circle back around and ask someone where to park. Once we figured it out, it was easy.
