12-3-09 December 3, 2009 3 nite WONDER

Hi Donna,

I think a cut-off date for the FE list is a good idea. Also, we are planning on getting to the terminal early, so we could do a meet there or on the ship. Whatever works for the group.

Mary

I couldn't sleep so I threw this together for us. Is it Dis Winter Wonder Cruisers? I hope I got it right. LOL.

I might just have to also turn that into a t-shirt transfer to wear the day we get to the cruise.

Millipie--Thank you so much for the designs. I love them. I will probably be requesting more as I'm really really anxious to get my stuff done. I'm going to look through your designs more this weekend and make my final decisions.

I've been working hard getting our pirate costumes done. DH won't dress up which is fine as I don't want to sew another thing. My kids are now pirates for halloween although I originally thought they would be batman and robin. After what I've spent and the time involved--we are pirates!

Here are the costumes:

Favorite WDW memory--Probably just our honeymoon in general. We had a dormer room at the GF with a view of the Magic Kingdom. Magical indeed.

I also like the cut off date for the FE as I really want to get stuff done sooner than later. The door magnet design is amazing.
We won't be at the terminal early as we take Disney transfers from the Poly. I don't think we leave there until noon or so.

Mousebrat- Those pirate costumes are TOO cute! Wish I could sew stuff like that. I have been wanting to learn to sew so I can make dresses and such for my girls, but no one to show me!! Great Job!

Milliepie- I LOVE the cruise group design:love: It is gorgeous!

Donmil-saw on facebook where you're having your reunion..hope you had a great time :)

I have a GTKY question for everyone, if thats ok?? What is your favorite memory of your first DCL cruise?

Mine was seeing my girls faces as we approached the cruise ship...then their expression at Castaway Cay playing in the ocean (the first time they had ever seen it). I guess the most amazing thing was that my oldest DD,who is in the autism spectrum, actually stayed at the Kids club and didn't really want to leave. This is a first for her, only vacation we've done that she didn't cry at some point to go home.

OMG...so much to catch up on when you don't sign in regularly. :surfweb: Had a wonderful Labor Day weekend with Brad and Donny. They are quite the hosts and spoiled us rotten. It was wonderful. I love you guys!

Milliepie - Absolutely LOVE the design you created. :lovestruc Very beautiful and it will go with my door decoration idea.

Mousebrat - Love the pirate costumes you made. I bow to your talent. :worship: I'm having enough trouble thinking about how to make the FE let alone the pirate costumes for my Sis and I. I'm going the easy way....borrowing from a friend or buying a costume. pirate:

As for meeting early, we are staying at WDW before the cruise and don't know when we'll arrive at the ship so 3pm would work the best for our peeps. We want to get there early but never done this so don't know how it works. :confused3

Not eating at Palo's. Sticking to the rotation dining this trip.

:beach: As for shore excursions...I'm thinking the only one I'd be interested in is on Nassau doing the 2 hr tour of the castle and Queen's stairs. If it's just as easy to sight see on our own, then that will work too..... Paddle boats on Castaway Cay are a thouht too.

May not be my best but it's definately the most memorable memory :lmao: On our 2007 visit with Brad, Donny, Steve, Robert and Monique we went to the Rose & Crown on our 3rd day at WDW...it involved a toast and much laughter afterwards :lmao: Will have to explain later.

I can't wait for this trip for so many reasons...my 50th :cake:, my Sisters first time to WDW :cheer2: , time with my friend and meeting new friends :grouphug:. Who could ask for more....okay, I could but I won't.

Have to go take care of the yards.......TTFN :tigger:

Those costumes Rock! You are a very talented seamstress. Can you make ours. ;) LOL..

I'm glad you all like the design!

Since this will be our first time Cruising, are there any reccomendations on "cant miss" things? With three days, I'm sure you can't get everything done.

rebagarth, I'm glad you had a fabulous weekend, did you get much planning done for the cruise?

Hi everybody !

Usually I am on the section Wedding and honeymoon, but I join you here since I just booked this cruise.

Thanks Lisa !
For sure WDW is a bit far from my home.

I have to read the board, because I have so many questions about the way to go to Port Canaveral, the activities I need to book etc

We will try to help you out with whatever answers we can!! I hope you will join in the Fish eXtender gift exchange with us and also in the cruise group meet and greet, so we can meet you as well :) If you'd like to join these just send Donmil a PM or leave a comment on here. Sure hope you'll join up with us!!

:surfweb:Boy you sure do miss a lot when you don't sign in must put this on my to do list every day! :scared1:

Well Donna - I appreciate the "idol" status I just wish :tinker:I had been able to enjoy that time more , I was young and foolish...

I do want to know a little about FE - What kind of gifts are appropriate - I don't want to do too much or too little. Do we pick a day or time to leave them or is there a way to go about it? I know this seems like a strange question but I don't want to make a DCL faux pas:upsidedow

I have so many Disney memories but I can think of 2 one Disneyland/one WDW

1. The first time Donny:donald: my DH took me to DL was amazing. Prior to this I was skeptical. I am a Florida kid, former WDW cast - I thought DL was small and boring. Well that day all I did was follow him, listened about "his" Disneyland. I saw everything through his eyes and found my love for DL through him. It was truly a magical day. We rode every attraction in both parks except Dumbo and were there open to close.
2. The same trip Rebagarth (Denise) :tigger:mentioned one night we all went to 8 tracks in Pleasure Island planted ourselves on the 3rd floor next to the DJ booth. The entire night we requested almost all the songs they played and danced:dance3: right there at the edge - People actually asked us if we were hired by the place to "keep the party going " hilarious! We danced:banana: and sang :cool1:every word to every song!

Hi everyone! Looks like I have a lot to catch up on too!

mousebrat--Your costumes are fantastic! :cool1: I don't think DH and I will dress up this time but here are pictures of us at pirate night on our last two cruises.

Lisa--yes, we had a good time at our reunion. Russell and I were the hosts this year so it was a little more work. We both came home and took a nap afterwards much to our puppy's dismay. She wanted to play so while we slept she found a cardboard box under the bed and chewed it to bits.

As far as our favorite memory of our 1st Disney cruise, it would probably be the feeling when we walked into the atrium and they announced our family's name. I still get choked up and teary eyed so if I see you right then and don't talk it's because I won't be able to speak for a few moments without crying like a baby. :confused3

Denise--On our first cruise, we just walked around ourselves. We went to the Queen's Staircase and Fort Fincastle. I used the walking tour in the Disney Cruise Line Passporter book. I felt safe walking around. Let me know if you have any questions.

Calleigh--:welcome: I'll PM you about the info for our spreadsheet for the meet/FE. Congratulations on your wedding and upcoming marriage! :goodvibes

Brad--Even though I have been on 3 other DCL cruises, this is the first time our Disboard group has wanted to do the FE exchange. Although some groups schedule days for people to distribute their FE gifts, I think we should do it whenever it works with our own schedules especially since it is such a short cruise. As far as gifts, anything goes. I've gotten some ideas from the various FE and FE gifts threads on the Dis Cruise Line Forum.

From reading the posts to date, I think the general consensus is to have our meet on Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Promenade Lounge and to have a cutoff date for joining the FE exchange. So is November 3rd--one month prior to the cruise--a good cutoff date?

Well this post has gotten way too long so I'll say good night!!!!!!!!

Thanks Donna -
It's only September but the frenzy seems to be starting - glad to see so many others excited about their trip.

Is it Saturday yet???? I get to check in online for the cruise... I am so excited but it's hard to keep the secret from DD that our trip is THIS close...

Donna-- Love the pics of you two in the pirate costumes! Those are awesome! Glad you had a good time at the reunion...hosting is always a lot more work, but most of the time is quite fun!
I think that Nov.3 is a good date for cut off, that is just my opinion. It would make it easier to figure out how much of stuff we need to buy, make, etc.

Bradg- i can't think of anything I consider a "do not miss". Mainly because this is only our 2nd DCL cruise, our first was a 3 night as well. There is so much to do, it does fly by. We didn't go to any of the shows last time, and I regret it, so I do at least want to try and catch one or two of them this time. I don't know if we'll even get off the ship at Nassau, its my 3rd time there. We might because my mom and stepdad have never been there, though.

Mary- I don't see how you've kept it from your dd this long!! I just couldn't do it!! My mom is recruiting me to help her with her cruise info. this saturday as well. I have already filled mine out on the 4th. Wouldn't you know the day before my printer decided to tear up...never fails :rotfl:

Definitely counting down the days till cruise time! Can't wait..lord knows I need a get-away! All of us here do, I think :cutie:

talk to you all later!!!

It's easy because I can still talk about it all I want and I have even mentioned our actual dates just not the year... So she has been helping with the planning all along without knowing our true surprise...:cool1:
