Hi Everyone,

Sorry I've missed so many postings! I'm just trying to catch up on work so I can leave without feeling like I forgot to do something :scared1: I need this vacation! Oh, and I can't wait to see National Treasure 2, too! What a treat, the movie selection is really good. Can't wait to see the show Twice Charmed again.... we loved it! That's what we LOVE about the Disney cruises, there is always something to do for everyone!

Noel: Thanks for the PM. And the time is fine with us. We look forward to meeting everyone. That is so thoughtful of you to have us all stop by!

Have a great day everyone, the time is almost here! Yeah!

~janie

Janie, i have you down for the FE list,

So, everyone, please add one for the list.. and that would probably close it out.. since it's only just over 2 weeks away, that way we can finalize our gifts.

I will pm everyone today or tomorrow with the list and the staterooms participating.

Thanks!!

Welcome Aboard 44 Majestic,

I see you have kids 15, and 12. Are they boys, girls, one of each?? I have DS 17, DD 15, DD 8, DS 7.
Pam

I have an almost 8 year old girl, too -- it would be great if they could get together. Maybe they could even e-mail each other before the cruise?

Ok gang, since this date and time seems to work for everyone, let me see if I can organize some sort of snacks and drinks for the get together. Any preferences on snacks or drinks? Please post what families like so I know what to order.

Please let us know if we can chip in for this -- on my last Disney cruise, the host put out a "Future DCL Cruise Donation Jar" to help offset the costs of the shindig. :)

I think cheese and crackers and fruit is always safe and universally liked.

I've been swamped with work (and non-stop business travel) and am so sorry I haven't participated in the thread, but I look forward to meeting all of you! We booked this cruise pretty late for DCL standards and ended up with a "guaranteed" room that left me disappointed, but my dh keeps reminding me that we don't do anything but sleep and order cheese platters in our cabin, anyway. :lmao:

Janie:

We are looking forward especially to seeing National Treasure 2!! Our family is happy to have everyone get together so we can all finally meet. Part of the fun of cruising is meeting people that share the same interests.

Marcy:

You sure sound busy with your family and work related travel. I also have a GS Spencer who will be turning 8 the day before the cruise. Spencer loves sports and would probably spend the entire cruise in the pool, if his parents let him.

Looking at the concierge menu, I think you are right about what we can order. However, I will be working with the concierge on the ship to see what we ultimately serve.

What a interesting idea about having "Future DCL Cruise Donation Jar" to help offset the costs of the get together. However, I wouldn't want anyone to feel obligated to donate. Our get together is after all my idea. Maybe people would feel more comfortable bringing something to drink or whatever??

Anybody else have any thoughts about Marcy's idea?

Noel

Noel, yes, your numbers/names are correct for the FE . I am trying to pm people this week with the cabin numbers.

As for Marcy's idea, i think it's great. ;)

Thanks for your thoughts. I can't believe that in one week and one day I will be leaving for WDW!!

ohhhhhh.. isn't that awesome!!!!

BTW-- i am psyching myself up by listening to Jimmy Buffet's Christmas CD at my shop today.. LOL

Oh, we're Jimmy Buffett fans too! The holidays wouldn't be the same without a little Mele Kalikemaka from JB!

I guess I am old school because it's not Christmas until I watch White Christmas on tv and hear all of the old songs.

Spending a few Christmas times and New Years in Hawaii you say Mele Kalikimaka me ka Hau'oli Makahiki Hou Or just happy new year in hawaiian which is Hau'oli Makahiki Hou.

I have to laugh because though I have heard the Jimmy Buffet version I first heard Mele Kalikimaka as an old Bing Crosy Song recorded in 1950 with the Andrew sisters. Plus I have heard that Bette Middler did another version that is supposed to be pretty good on her Cool Yule CD.

For anyone who is not familiar with the words:

Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say

On a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day

That's the island greeting that we send to you

From the land where palm trees sway

Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright

The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night

Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way

To say "Merry Christmas to you."

(Repeat)

You know, it's funny, b/c even as recently as a few years ago, if you asked me, i would tell you i HAD to be home for the holiday. Now, each year that goes by, i dislike the cold dreary days more and more, and i would love to be somewhere warm and sunny (with my family of course!!) for Christmas.

We are in for at least 6-7" of snow today.. oh, goodie. NOT!! And another snow storm sat. night . Double goodie.

Being a native Californian, (born in Pasadena) I like to "visit" snow. Snow is the biggest reason we do not open up our house at Lake Almanor in the winter.

My perfect Christmas is in Hawaii or some other tropical climate!!

Mike (halfan) offered to bring some wine from his home state to the get together. If anyone else wants to bring wine, beer or any other type of libation, it would be most welcome.

We have had about 70 persons on the thread respond to coming to the get together so I am not sure what people want to drink so I will just order an assortment of sodas, water etc along with the cheese and fruit plates.

Any other suggestions are most welcome!!
