12/29/07 Western - New Year's Eve

Noel -- i am not marking anyone down for any specific night.. I am just going to be pm'ing the cabin numbers of those interested, and whatever day/night they decide they want to drop off gifts, will be soley their choice, and responsibility. If some want to do a lil' gift everyday, that is fine, and if some can only do 1 gift that is fine too..
I don't want anyone to feel they have to give a gift everyday, i want everyone to do what they can afford/ handle. ;)
However, i can't wait to do this, and i know for a fact i will be trying to give gifts everyday --b/c this is my first cruise and i have a billion ideas floating around this blonde head of mine!! LOL
How does this sound..?

BTW -- happy saturday everyone!! Hope it's a good one!

Sounds good to me!! We took books yesterday to a book buyer (38 boxes full). Samantha made $60.00 in cash and $343.00 in store credit. They took about 2500 books and we are donating the rest.

Today is our local cleanup day. We are taking lots of stuff to the recycle, the trash and getting rid of old electronics. Going to be a busy day!!

Hey Guys,

I'm just popping back in, but I noticed the list of gift ideas. Where do you plan on getting these? I own an Embroidery franchise and I can get items like that pretty inexpensively. Also if you wanted to do T's, if each would send their sizes and we could decide on artwork, I would ship prior to sailing and everyone would have T's to match. Just think it over and let me know.

Pam

Okay -- AQOWF???

Wondering about this new acronym I have not seen before (considering myself fairly Internet savvy). So I do a search...

And this is the first line in Google...

Did you mean: aqotwf here

Noel: (and everyone) here are the people i have down so far (with cabin #'s) for the FE swap .... Well, was AQOWF here but now I have some errands to run! ...

Okay. That was unhelpful.

So I do more searching and find that this is a reference to All Quiet on the Western Front. Ah Hah! Noel is saying that she is not busy. And since Stacy also has a lot of free time that makes sense.

And my wife wonders why I don't get things done on Saturdays and why planning for a cruise takes so much time. THIS IS THE REASON :lmao:

Pam - Those ideas posted by me are for our Fish Extender swap, If you have or want to make a Fish Extender, (i will post alink to a "what is a FE thread") you can pm me your cabin number and basically we go around as sort of "secrect" (or not so secret santa types).. Delivering gifts to each other for fun. Let me go look for the fish extender gift thread and post the link..
BRB. :)

Pam -- ok, here is the Fish Extender thread, which will describe what we are talking about..

Tomorrow is TWO MONTHS (mini happy dance) :dance3:

And now I go to tuck in my youngest. Who wants to spend his bedtime conversation tonight talking about the Disney Cruise. :cloud9:

We booked this trip in April 2006. Told oldest daughter at the time, and then the next two (accidentally) this summer.

We knew the youngest would obsess and it has proven true so we waited to tell him until a few weeks ago. When we did, he thought I was joking so we had to show him the physical confirmation forms until he believed us. He is a special needs kid and he has never enjoyed anything as much as that week on the Magic during Spring Break 2006. :goodvibes

End of post. Tuck in Evan. Finish cleaning the garage before DW and DS15 get home from a marching band competition.

Not sure we will do the cabin gift.

Ann and I live in a world governed by to-do lists and constant activity. Part of vacation for us always is the escape of schedules and external demands. Just the thought of having to come up with the right gift for people I don't know stresses me out. I can see the nights spent in the gift shop trying to reply to the perfect, cute Disney gifts left to my by my fellow DISers. The gift shop staff will get to know me by name. I will pretend to be a parent in the kid's clubs so I can make crafts to give away. I will cancel my shore excursions to go shopping at tourist trinket shops. I will stay up personalizing towel animals in search of just the right thing that will fit in/by/under a door.

I will be doomed.:scared: :scared:

I will stay up late. I will lose rest.

Oh Oh. I will neglect tucking in my son, because of my fellow DISers.

Rats -- that's what's happening right now. Ouch -- better go everyone.

Good night.

(so do I participate in gifts or not :confused3 )

Jim, you are hilarious!! :lmao: And for what it's worth, i am doing the FE as much as for me as for my dd, who i know would be thrilled with Kit Kats or hershey bars in the FE.
I am sure whatever you would do would be more than fine. It's just more about having fun and suprising people. :goodvibes

Caitsmama,
That is exactly what I am thinking! Keep it simple and mostly for the kids. My girls loved doing the "you've been boo-ed" thing around the neighborhood this year so I know this will be right up their alley!

I am a tech guy. Not a sewing guy. If I tried to use a sewing machine, I would probably end up with my ear attached to my right ankle accidently. Imagine the 911 call for that one. "Excuse me sir, my father just sewed his ear to his foot. Yes sir. No, I don't think he is in any danger at the moment..."

Oh Oh -- just got off phone with DW. There was a collision during the marching performance tonight and there was a three-tuba crash that my son was in the middle of. Sounds like he broke a rib when he landed on his tuba wrong while trying to avoid landing on the first guy down.

GTG ---

What a kind and generous offer, Pam. Any idea of the price range for tee shirts? Do they come in lime green?

Sorry that I was so much trouble!! I have been using that expression for years ever since I read the book by Erich Maria Remarque. I consider it especially appropriate since we are from California!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Saturdays for us these days are lazy days for the most part. No more kids to rush to swim, volleyball or other various meets or practices!!!

You have nailed the fish extender giving on the head!! We all do it for fun and to surprise each other. If it is a stressful thing, you wouldn't get me to do it!!

I can't even sew a button on either!! I would rather spend the day on the computer than even attempt to make a sewing repair. All my sewing "issues" go to the cleaners.

Good heavens, I hope our son is ok!! Keep us posted!! :pixiedust: for you son to be only slightly injured!!

Jim, hope your son is ok!!!!

As for the FE gifts -- if you want to quiet all us "adults" down, just drop lil' nips in our FE's!! LOL ;)

In a previous post reply to Jim, I thought you might "want" a chocolate with liquour in it. This is a champagne ganache described as an exquisite pairing of rich dark Belgian chocolate ganache and a splash of fine Champagne, molded in a vintage Champagne cork shell of premium dark or milk Belgian chocolate.
