12/29/07 Western - New Year's Eve

Looks like we have a small but fun group of DISers!

JimV, you live not far from my old stompin' grounds. Grew up in Hastings, south of Grand Rapids. My boys will be glad to know there are other teenaged boys on the trip. Is your son playstation crazed too? One son plays tennis, the other football and track. You have an ambitious summer planned!

Any other teens joining our group?

We are on deck 7 starboard too. Forward. Love that location!

Suprises?? We were on the Wonder for NYE. Each stateroom recieved a limited edition Don "Ducky" Williams lithograph and a special engraved clear paperweight. Of course, there was also a special NYE menu and several parties around the ship. Some for kids, family, and some adult parties. It was a blast as I recall.

I guess we all want to sail a day early :-) There is another thread started that has our real sailing date 12/30/2006. I'm going to see if there is a way to merge the threads (any helpful moderators?)

More DIS action for our great NYE cruise!

You mean year and day early right? :rotfl2:

My bad....I'm going on the 2006 cruise...got excited that I was with all of you. I guess I'll have to report back so you can plan for the next year.

I wish you were with us. :goodvibes  You'll just have to rebook on board for the next year.   It is a long way out but it will be here before you know it. I have two other DCL trips before this one. Please keep posting Teresa, maybe we can get a few more DIS people on this cruise. It's a hard one because of the family holiday and it's not discounted. Well worth it though. Maybe I'll come on over and crash your thread. ;)

Hi all ... just wanted to chime in and say we're going to be on this cruise too. This will be our 3rd cruise ... all on the Magic. We went in 1998 and 2000 and had a great time. This time it will be myself and my husband and our (then) 20 year old daughter. It is a loooonnnnggg way out but it's never too early to start the party. party:

While we have our deposit in, we are waiting to decide until we have a family chat about this in a few months when we have a better idea of finances (fully funding two kids in college right now) and see what the two kids in college think of the idea, and see how it aligns with school schedules, and see if we can get free flights with the half-million frequent flier miles I have available.

So, my wife and I are hoping to go, but will wait to get really excited about it when it is a sure thing (and then we will get REALLY REALLY excited).

Here's hoping everyone is doing well that has commited to this trip. It seems a long way off but the time seems to pass quickly when you start planning. I'm leaving on the 11 day Southern soon but I promise to post a picture of the litho we received as a gift when we sailed at New Years a few years ago. There are always special things on board for special cruises and what could be more special than to be on the Magic for the New Year. We are all in for a very magical time. :wizard: :goodvibes

Okay -- We were talking with the kids last month and DD20 said that she would really rather not go on a cruise. She thinks it would be boring.

She does not know we have already reserved the trip.

My wife is REALLY looking forward to having all of us on a cruise together, since DD(then 19) was in school when we went this past spring break.

Hopefully it works out!

Well DD20 wants to go. Sent up a trial balloon and it looks good. All systems are go now. :thumbsup2 Probably spring it on the kids in December on Christmas morning. Then, we will march the ones without passports to get pictures and start that process (since we will all need them when we sail).

So --- are there just two of us on this thread?

-- JimV

no ... there's at least 3 of us :cool1: I'm glad your DD20 decided it was a go. My DD will be 20 at the time too and is really looking forward to the trip. So at least there'll be 2 20yr olds on the ship :)

We've got quite an age spread I think. Good mix of folks. I'm glad the 20's have some company. :teeth:

We can always invite the crew to our party :dance3:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: The crew are very talented! They did a show for us on the 11 day. :rotfl2: IMHO As soon as this NYE cruise sails the rebooking will take care of the numbers. :goodvibes party: :jumping1:
