Word from various Tweets is that Disneyland is sold out for the day. Tickets are being sold for DCA only. APers or those with previously purchased multi-day tickets are being admitted. APers are being told to get hand stamps in order to have the *possibility* of re-entry.

Merry Christmas, to those who celebrate!

Didn't realize thats how they did it when they were over capacity, I assumed they just closed the turnstiles whether you had tickets or not. After all, don't most people buy their tickets before they get there.

Gotta say I'm glad I'm not there today.

Raining right now but DL is having the fireworks anyway! Can't disappoint the guests on Christmas Day. I'm sure we'll get some reports about watching fireworks in the rain.

Does anyone know what happened with World of Color tonight? Less than five minutes into the show, the music suddenly stopped. Then the fountains stopped, and the presentation ended. Everybody had to leave.

I am just so disappointed.

I never thought I'd say this but...

...I'm glad I didn't go to Disneyland today! :scared1: :rotfl:

jdisnut, I'm sure that "disappointing" doesn't even begin to cover what happened with WOC! I hope you didn't have to stand there for hours waiting, only to have that happen!

... and it's POURING!

I'm not in Anaheim, but less than an hour away and starting around 9pm - without hesitation - it started coming down. STRONG!

And it seems Disneyland is being affected. The following are all from Twitter feeds I follow, as of about 9:30pm:

Due to expected rain. Fireworks will go at 8:30 and the first Fantasmic will be at 8:45 tonight. #Disneyland
2 hours ago

Due to the NOS power outage, Pirates will be evacuating. This is a pretty big deal. All available cast members have been called to assist.

Power outage affecting all of New Orleans Square currently. #Disneyland

8pm World of Color show cancelled tonight due to "technical issues".

Mansion is also down and evacuating due to the NOS power outage.

Fantasmic has been cancelled for the evening.

9:15pm and 10:15pm shows of World of Color will go on tonight despite the cancellation of the 8:00pm.

This Pirates evacuation is not going well at all. Paramedics have now been called in to assist.

Power is coming back on in New Orleans Square.

In the past hour. Paramedics have been called five times to the Disneyland Resort. Fun night...

Oh my goodness.

We got out of there right before all the outage madness.

Watched the fireworks in the rain. Not worth it lol!!!

The rest of the day pre-rain was amazing!! A little rain couldn't spoil all the awesome magic we experienced today :)

You have various "types" of ticket holders coming into the Parks.

1. People who have daily/weekly tickets that have not entered the Park yet.
2. People who have annual passes and may come for a full day or just a few hours.
3. People who buy a one day ticket.

When the Park starts to near capacity, they will put up warning signs to be sure to get a handstamp and that re-entry is not a sure thing. The 1st phase of closure is that no new tickets are sold. Then, if you have not entered the Park yet, you cannot enter. Then, solid closure... meaning if you are not in the Park, you aren't entering the Park.

I've watched Disney Christmas parade on ABC this afternoon, and it looked like it was a beautiful day at the time of the Christmas parade.
I am so sorry to hear that WOC was canceled.

I hope this doesn't ruin the magic. The disney parades are not shown live like the Macy Parade of Rose Bowl Parade. They were filmed about a month ago.

Good news is the forecast looks better for tomorrow.

!

I can say our day did not go as planned. There have only been a handfull of times where I was just miserable at DL and today was one of those days I just wanted to go home. Oh well, it happens. Disney can not control technical difficulties or rain. After having this be our Christmas tradition over the last 5 years, I do think we may do something different next year. The tropics are calling to me at this point pirate:

Well, yes, November 6th, 2010 was a beautiful day weather-wise. ;)

Another update: Around 12:20 p.m., New Orleans Square again lost power. As of 4 p.m. or so, The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad were down. I don't know what's going on, but it's not good.

I really can't describe how bad I felt last night when they stopped World of Color in the middle like that. Trying to see it again tonight.

Wow, how wild it has been and apparently still is at Disneyland, as of late.
Why were paramedics called out yesterday? Was someone ill? Or injured? Or just having an anxiety attack or some such? TIA
It sounds like I missed out on a lot of action. Oh well.... maybe next time.

I hope that things will calm down, and go back to normal very soon.

As for the paramedics being called I'm guessing a lot of anxiety and possibly syncopal episodes (fainting).

Wow, we choose to do Universal Studios/Hollywood for our Christmas weekend and by the looks of this thread I am glad we did. ::yes::
US was absolutely crowded but very doable. We did not have FOL passes and our longest wait was for WaterWorld and that was probably 40 minutes and I believe they were having technical difficulties as the show was at 2:40pm and they did not even open the gates for us until 3pm. :confused3

The weather was amazing in LA; as we so deserved it in SoCal after 7 days of intense rain.
