12/24/08 Christmas Cruise on the Wonder

Gee and here I was whining like heck because it was 35c/95f the other day. You guys are tougher than me as we are not accustomed to that kind of heat:thumbsup2

Sounds good. Did you purchase this at the time of booking? Is that why there is a 105 day booking mark? I don't this will be for us this time as the whole family is in one room. God forbid the kids should see anything romantic!!! :rotfl2:

I remember booking it about a month after we booked the cruise when I found out about it. We got connecting cabins so we are putting the kids in one room and dh and I in the other:hug:

Heck, I whine when we visit Houston. It's even worse than here. This year hasn't felt as bad as previous years. Guess it has been drier.

I suppose you get to book the rest of your excursions at the 105 day mark as well? Lucky you has a room all to yourself with DH. :rolleyes1 Still trying to decide on dinner or brunch for Palo. I gotta call CS on Friday to give passport info, make sure they know about DD's birthday, and ask about dining rotation so we can make the proper ressies. I'm leaning towards the dinner but may do an early one so that we can meet up with the kids at dinner. What time will the sun set I wonder? :confused3

Alright, going to make some more headway with the thread this weekend. By the way to answer a question, my DD’s sweet 16th birthday is the 15th of Dec. It was another busy week this with a particularly memorable event on Wed:

My goal had been one home cooked meal a week. After a long day at work, cooking often doesn’t happen. Then daily football practice commenced. Now a days, I’m just happy that we eat.

This past Wed, a couple of items dropped off of my calendar so I decided to pick up a rotisserie chicken, whip up some cheesy mashed potatoes and green beans and make a nice dinner for us. I called home at lunch time and asked DD to go to room off of the kitchen, find the long brown thing called a table, clear it off and set it with plates, cups and silverware.

DD: “Why are we eating in the Music room?”
(We’ve turned our living room into a Music room to support DD musical talent. No couches, chairs or tables, only instruments. The formal dinning room is next to it.) :rockband:
Me: “We’re not eating in the Music room. The room with the table is a dining room. I want us to sit at a table together and eat.”
DD: “I don’t need a table, I can eat at my drumset.”
ME: “CLEAR AND SET THE TABLE !!!”
DD: “Are we having company over?”
ME: “No I want us to sit together at a table and eat.”

DS gets on the line

ME: “I want you and your sister to clear and set the table so we can have a family dinner this evening.”
DS: “who’s coming over?”
ME: banging head against the desk at work and thinking, we haven’t eaten dinner together in a looonnnggggg time.

Ok fellow cruise mates. What is this cruise planner everyone's getting except me? :confused3 We got our passports a few months ago. Was suprised when we had them back in 6 days:dance3:

I sure want that spa villa, but good grief it's expensive:scared1: But since the only shore excursion we will likely do is parasail, I just might splurdge. It is Christmas after all:rolleyes1

Sorry I haven't been around.Wish I could say I have been busy, but that would be a lie:rotfl2: I have been stalking another cruise board anxiously awaiting for the books to open on the biggest cruise ship on the planet. It was a mad house yesterday, but Im booked! Me and five of my newest cruise buddies will be cruising on Oasis Of The Seas Next Dec.:woohoo: Anyway, now that I am booked, I can spend more time over here:cheer2: :thumbsup2

Jodale, that is too funny! I'm still smiling:cool2:

Ok, I'm off to bed. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

JoDale...that is hilarious. :lmao: :rotfl2: I have put down to have instant notifications of postings on here so I even get it on my Blackberry. I was reading your post while eating dinner at Cici's and about spewed pizza everywhere. Shared it with DH. He agreed. And it sounds very similar to us.

I was the one who asked about your DD's birthday. Mine has a birthday on the 10th. And they sound pretty similar. She doesn't play any instrument other than what is on Rock Band but she will certainly sing. Okay, so the voice is considered an instrument.

Any one else seen the Banana Boat Rides at CC disappear off the Excursions list? I checked yesterday and it is gone!! Wanted to hum the JAWS theme while riding it with the kids. :lmao:

Another suggestion was made that for those of us who are participating in the FE's that we might want to find out what the kids like....just a thought.

It is a planner that is much more detailed than the planner you would receive if you ordered one online. Glad to hear you booked your cruise, we are probably going to book March 2010 on the Oasis also. Just waiting for a quote from the TA as I do not have a detailed price list yet.

I believe their was a accident recently on the banana boat and they have removed them from the excursions.

Heck if I know.:confused3 Since you are staying in the ivory tower I would have assumed Rob Iger would have delivered one personally to you on a silver platter blowing kisses and saying have a magical day Brenda!!!!:cool1: :lmao:

It is a letter saying...blah blah looking forward to seeing you..blah blah you have (insert number) of days before you can book your excursions etc!! Then you get this really nice planner with it.:thumbsup2

That must be it. I just have to be patient till Rob gets here with mine...or maybe I won't get one cause....Rob will do all the planning for me:worship: Yeah, right :lmao:

Ok, so I was looking at the shore excursions at Castaway Cay. Michael wants to do the waverunner excursion, but says he has to be 18 to drive. This really upset him, as he was allowed to drive one in Cozumel two years ago when he was 14. So now, I have no idea what he will do. Trying to convince Dale to take him and go on the bottom fishing excursion. But good ole party pooper that he is, says why would he want to do something they can do at home? Funny, last time I looked all we have here is a couple lakes:confused3

This is our argument also. It has to be something we cannot do at home and would never get the opportunity to do anywhere else. We are still going to book the waterpark and if it is a no go then I am not sure what happens....do you double book your day???? One plan for Nassau and one on the ship???? What if the Nassau day gets pushed ??? sheesh:confused3

Of course of course :worship: :worship: A 24k gold embossed letter with a wax seal will be delivered to your floating palace to inform you that every whim and fancy has been personally taken care of by Rob himself!:thumbsup2 ;)

Still should have had it by now. When did you get yours?Darn...I bet the dogs ran Rob off off:scared1:

How did I miss this?:confused3 The blonde must be showing through.:lmao:

For this cruise I think I'd book any excursions through DCL. If you do, then you will be covered if the itinenary is changed. If you don't you could be out of luck. I was going to say check the cancellation policy, but that won't do any good since most want at at least 24 hr notice. There are a couple excursions I am looking at for Nassau. I need to get the kids opinions before making a decsion.

Supposed to. I have read that we should be getting either a phone call or letter from concierge, but haven't as yet.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Now that I have that other cruise in the bag, I'll be here more often. I promise...:flower3:

Good morning everyone.

hope you all had a great weekend. The more I try to figure out what shore excursions to do,or spa treatment to book, the more confused I get.:confused3 Not that it's hard for me to get confused. :lmao: I live in a state of confusion these days:rotfl2:

Anyway, have a wonderful Monday.:thumbsup2
