12/24/08 Christmas Cruise on the Wonder

We are new AKV owners also!! We rented points for this trip to go and do some research to see if we wanted to purchase......welll Dh had a conference in Anaheim in November so we all flew down to Disneyland. Being from Alberta, DVC legally cannot give us any information or even talk to us about DVC unless we are onsite. The incentives were so good we bought AKV in November in Disneyland. This spring trip was already booked so dh and I decided to use it as a nice getaway for the two of us! We actually stayed at OKW for this trip but will be going back for our first trip home in the spring of 2010 once Kidani is open also.:lovestruc

We stayed at the AKL in Jan. I had booked a 1 bedroom value villa specifically witht the intent of checking the new DVC resort out. Somehow our reservation got lost between Disney central booking and the actual hotel, our room had been given away, so we were given a two bedroom suite in the regular hotel. A very nice upgrade I must say, although I never did get to check out one of those new Jambo rooms.

My DH would like a massage, but the rest of it, forget it. The hot tubs are"too hot" for him. sissy boy:lmao:

DD and I will most likey parasail on Castaway Cay. We will go on our own to the Dig, then find a nice local cafe for some conch.

Yay parasailing! :cheer2: If he's willing to do that he can't be too much of a sissy boy. Or is that Mr. Sissy to me?

HA, notice I said DD and I would parasail. Sissy boy and son will be on the beach holding their breath the whole time we are up:rotfl2:

No, You can call him sissy boy Adrianna:lmao:

Come on Courtney, Just do it:thumbsup2

What, and where, is the Dig? My mouth is starting to salivate for the conch. I am sure I will love it and want to marry it....:bride: :lmao:

Wow, I skipped a page:rotfl: The Dig is the underwater aquariam at Atlantis. Not sure of all the details as yet. We will most likey do this on our own. I have heard it is much less expensive. If I could spell it, I'd tell you what the locals say Conch is good for.;)

Consider it DONE!!! DH is up for it for sure. He's used to jumping out of airplanes. DS will do it. Not quite sure about DD

Why is the shore excursion to the Atlantis waterpark so OVERPRICED!!! Any recommendations?

All cruise lines excursions are overpriced. But this one because in order to have access to the water park, you have to purchase a day room at the hotel. There should be all kinds of info about this on the general board. We won't do it. We will go on our own to the aquarium. Maybe walk around and have a look at the property before heading back to town and the ship.

Great Courtney, You will love it! It is so quiet up there.

Anyone want to join me for 2 for 1 Bahama Mamas? I suppose the real question is... can you drink and parasail?

Adrianna-

My husband wants to know what your husband's MOS is

SF, huh? I had to look that one up. I love the internet. Info at the speed of fingertips. When was he in?

Ain't the internet grand....:surfweb:

He was in from 1989-1994. Home station was Ft. Bragg with the final two years as DI at Ft. Benning. War all the years in between...official or otherwise.

Before our time. Hubby wasn't even commissioned until 1996. My, how the world has changed since 1996. We were at Ft Benning when the planes flew into the WTC. We used to think a six month peacekeeping mission was tough stuff. Three combat deployments later... It just makes the time together that much sweeter. :goodvibes
