12/23 At MK. Not that bad

So we are at MK today, 12/23/2018. I am surprised that the park is not as bad as I expected. We got a late start due to DAH last night so we arrived at 10:30. It’s now 3:00 and we had a FP for under the sea, Tomorrowland speedway and Jingle cruse. We have also done 7DMT, BTRR and Splash. We just finished lunch at The Plaza (1:55 ADR) and are debating dessert. The decorations are awesome and the park is very festive. If all goes as smoothly the rest of the week, I’ll be one happy camper.

I think everyone decided to go to Hollywood Studios! It was jammed pack as we were leaving! We may head to MK later with the late hours!

10:30 this morning.

We went yesterday. It was great during emh and until @10:30, then it got quite crowded. We did 7dmt (5 of us) and small world, wtp, dumbo (the other 5). Carousel (the lovely cm let my 4yo stay on for 2 rides!), then went to btmrr at 8 when park opened. It was maybe 10 mins, then we walked on magic carpets (two did hm). We had FP for Peter Pan at 9:05, then HM 10:10 and lunch at Skippers Canteen at 11:40. We did PP, then carousel again, Ariel ride (walk on), barnstormer (5 mins, I refuse to wait longer). Then went to HM and lunch. Climbed the tree house then had a FP for pirates at 1:20. Showed up @1:40. We left the park just as the 3pm parade was close to starting. Went back to hotel and rested, then back for TT dessert party.

We are a group of 10 and booked the party 180 out. They had mistakenly given our table to a smaller group (6 or 7) so we had to be at an 8-top with another small round table squished next to it which was a little annoying, but we managed. It was great to have a seat and some protection from the chilly weather.

Some of us left right after and managed to get to the monorail station via the back passageway quickly and on the 2nd monorail. We were home before 11. The others lingered and got stuck in the huge crowd and didn’t get to the hotel til @12:30. What a difference!

Overall it wasn’t bad for the first day. At Epcot today and it feels more crowded.

I find over the holidays mornings and evenings are great! Afternoons we usually duck out or do shows/lunch etc. Either way it is what you make it so it sounds like you will have a great trip =)

We were at mk yesterday, definitely more crowded than we were expecting. But we made it work though. Wonder if its better today

I took a few good pics and honestly, You can meke it what you want to when it's crowded. It's easy to take a pic of a massive crowd at WDW. Not so easy to take empty or somewhat empty areas. The pics give you an idea. Main Street was jam packed when we got here but everything outside the hub was not bad at all.
