12/16 & 12/17 Crowds?

We went to DL last in December of 2011 and made the bad choice of being there on 12/16 - 12/19 so our trip was on a fri, sat, sun, and mon. It was so packed we could hardly walk around DL. We are not crowd people. We are thinking of going 12/16 & 12/17 which is a Monday and Tuesday. The crowd predictor says a 2 for Mon and a 3 for Tues. Do you think this is any where near accurate? I feel like I used it last time to predict crowds and it was WAY off because DL was packed. Thanks!

I think those predictions are a little low. I'll be there that week as well and anticipate around a 5-6. Many schools are still in session early that week but not all. We are out the 13th, while other districts in our area are in until the 18th.

Hello!

Well, I don't know that the crowd predictor is too accurate. Are you using Touring Plans or something like that? I think it can be quite off on many things.

The general scenario -- and there could always be variations or fluctuations in it, so it's not set in stone -- is that the first couple of full weeks of December are a bit less crowded than the last 2 full weeks of December because a lot of folks have returned home after Thanksgiving break, but it's still too early for a Christmas break.

So, if that rule still applies, then your dates would be right around that time when crowds start to pick up with people out on early Christmas breaks.

I have found Mondays to be a bit less crowded than Tuesdays (at least in my observation and opinion) -- but that is in the first or second week of December. I'm not sure if that still applies in the 3rd and 4th week of December, but it looks like the crowd predictor is saying that Tuesday will be a tiny bit more crowded than Monday as well!

I think the crowds on Monday and Tuesday would be better than they were on your last 2011 holiday visit, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be at "2" and "3" level. That sounds too low to me for that time of December, regardless of the days of the week.
