Denise...oooh, yuck. Beer is bad enough but warm beer is disgusting! I never did get into beer drinking. Of course, having an alcoholic, British ex-husband might have something to do with that too!

Is it 5:00 yet? I want to leave and go home and sleep so I can be well-rested for tomorrow.

Just over 24 hours from departure!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: It's a good thing there are walls here or I'd really be bouncing all over the place!

No, we decided we will just hit the bookstore the next morning. We will have gotten off the plane at 8:00am which is 3:00am our time after maybe having slept some on the plane and then likely won't get much chance to nap so it is unlikely we are going to want to be awake that late. My Mom definitely won't be but since she is in a wheelchair and fully dependent for help we wouldn't leave her alone at the hotel anyway so we have opted to just hit the bookstore the next morning. I cannot believe we are hauling 7 copies back with us!

I am bummed. I just tried to check in online but apparently you cannot do that with international flights so we will have to check-in at the airport tomorrow. Ugh, that makes things so much more complicated. I had hoped to have all that taken care of to avoid lines and just go through security since we aren't checking any bags but I guess it is not to be.

And my SIL was supposed to be done with work at 1:00 today so she was going to pick up the kids. Instead, she is still there (it is 4:15 now) so I am going to have to try to get out of here early so I can go get them. I hope they let me....

Oh well, I will be out of here soon and don't have to be back until Tuesday morning (why didn't I take Tuesday off too? I will be sooooo tired).

Kat

Have an awesome time Kat. Its storming here now. Thats great. Run all over campus in lightning. Sounds fun huh? Well not my idea of fun. Well all, i have to go make friends with my TA because he and I had it out last night over something really stupid. TTYL!

Top

Have a great, SAFE trip Kat.

I do hope all is well with Alison and Richard. I forget what shots we were slugging down that night. It was a special tradition of Heindrich's (Juletime's DH on the DIS Boards)home country(damn, can't remember for the life of me what is was now). IT was very special and very cool what they did for dinner Christmas Eve. They came to dinner early and set up the table in all thier traditional holiday decorations and gave each of us Holiday Favours (all hand made) explained what each meant and even the story behind the "special" drink...."goes down cold than goes warm and fuzzy". Anyway, what nice people to share all that with us. I really appreciated it and the drink made it over to Denise's table and Alison may have had a little too much. Poor thing, she didn't know what hit her.

Remeber my psycho BIL? My SIL called last night and says she has had enough and is ready to take off. It will have to be one of those get in the car now kids things. Hopefully she will make it. Apparently he is threatening her if she does leave. So prayers her way for strength. I guess that time she spent with us made an impact on her. How life is supposed to be.

gotta go. check back later. :wave2:

Denise;

I will definately say a prayer for you SIL. Sounds like a very scary situation for everyone. I hope she is able to make it out and be OK. Now, is this you DH's sister?

:wave2:

Yeah, I am off to bed so I can get up in the morning and get my kid ready for day camp and see her and dh off then we will head to the airport around 10:30. We were going to leave later but with W in Indy tomorrow that ain't happening! Oh well. We are psyched, that's for sure!

Answers were given by 2nd Graders to the following questions.....

Why did God make mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and alot of string.
3. God made Mom the same as he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are moms made of?
1. God makes moms out of clouds and Angel Hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get thier start from men's bones. Then they mostly used string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?
1. We're related.
2. God knew she likes me alot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?
1. My Mom has always been my Mom and none of that other stuff.
2. I don't know 'cause I wasn't there but my guess would be pretty bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice.

What did Mom need to know about Dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background. Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say No to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your Mom marry your Dad?
1. Because he makes the best spaghetti in the world. And Mom eats alot.
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My grandma says, "Mom didn't have her thinking cap on". :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Who's the boss at your house?
1. Mom doesn't want to be boos, but she has to because Dad is such a goof ball.
2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees alot of stuff under the bed.
3. I guess Mom is, because she has alot more to do than Dad.

What's the difference between Mom's and Dad's?
1. Moms work at work and work at home. Dads just work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Moms have magic. They make you feel better without medicine.

What does your Mom do in her spare time?
1. Moms don't do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would make you Mom perfect?
1. On the inside she's perfect. On the outside, I think some plastic surgery.
2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your Mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.
2. I'd make Mom smarter. Then she would it was my sister who did it, not me.
3. I would like her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

I just love kids  :rotfl:

Have a great day everyone

jEn,

we are heading to Williamsburg Va Saturday and DH tells me yesterday he wants to do a day trip to DC. I just asssumed it would be too hot for him to slug around DC all day long but I guess I was wrong.

Since you just got back, can I get some advise. Did you do the tour bus at all or the Metro? I looked the tour bus up on-line and it looks pretty good. You can get off/on at alot of stops all day long for one price. The Metro didn't seem to have may stations, on the map I was looking at anyway. Not sure hoe accurate it is.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mary Ann - The tour bus is really the way to go rather than subway. The tour bus ppl give you info during the entire ride and you see more. Subway is better if you know where you want to go and have limited time. HTH.

Sue

Thanks for the info, Sue. I think that is the way to go too. This is my first trip to Williamsburg. We went to DC once with my BIL's And SIL's while we were attending a family wedding in VA. Well, we got lost, didn't get to see much and missed the Wedding Ceremony back at the hotel and got some "not very nice looks" from my MIL. We made the reception though. Hopefully, this trip is a bit more laid back.

gaRry,

If I lived closer I would help you out, sweetie.

Seriously, try to take it easy. In fact, I think you should climb aboard the WDW train too!!!!
