Ok, so call me crazy, but I am already starting on a packing list for this cruise and it is still over 500 days away! I hear there are two formal nights? How many semi-formal nights? How about extras that are good to have on a cruise this long? I always pack laundry tablets and we will likely bring the laptop to download our digital pix to. Lots of books for DH to read by the pool, snorkeling gear for him, multiple swimsuits for DD (she spends the at sea days in the pool, DH sits and reads and keeps an eye on her), small Christmas decorations (lights, window clings, maybe an ornament or two). What else will be handy?

Thanks,

the control freak behind door number 1 :yo-yo:

Does anybody have copies of the navigators for the 10 day or know where they might be posted? I would like to get some idea of activities, etc. My DH thinks I am nuts thinking about this already! Heck, I am already trying to figure out what to pack!! Yes, I am bad like that. But I enjoy it so what the heck and I will try not to bother him with it for the next however many days it is (I need a counter...)

Kat

I have navigators posted at my site for this cruise. its
http://www.estel-miire.org/cruiselist
click on the onboard section of the site. It will have all the navigators. Hope that helps. Well for my case in DC we are the defense. Its definetly the easier side, but there is this one kid in my group who is just sooo annoying. oh well. its dinner time. see you all later.

Hi everyone!
Beautiful day here. DH is cleaning out the garage, DD is babysitting, DS is at a paintball tournament and me ad other DS were swimming.

Kat-- you are definately not the only one already planning. Whenever me and DD are out shopping, we see something and say "Oh, we should get this for our cruise." We do have a June cruise planned before this one though. I think there was only one semi-formal night. We also brought along some Christmas music to listen to. You might add that to your list.

They are coming to finish my new patio tomorrow!! (It was supposed to be done three weeks ago)

Judy

On the 10 day there were 2 semi-formal nights. If thats what you are referring to. I really wish i had time here to just relax, but the TA's (Team Advisors) keep us moving. lol. Tonight i get to see the monuments all lit up. Should be fun. Sue, i am headed to Baltimore harbor on thursday i think. Didn't know how far you were from there. Well talk to you all later.

Has anybody heard from gaRry lately? :confused3

Top.....................

Thought I'd try to sneak that one in since I haven't been around for a while.

Good morning everybody,

Well after I took 20 minutes to catch up with you chatterboxes...

Mary Ann, your list is entered and nope no repeats. :cheer2: Italian men huh? :lovestruc

Kat, we checked out excursions in the Passporter book. We got alot of good ideas about what goes on from that book. It is updated annually. For a clothes idea I've been looking into Chicos. Start with a solid color outfits and have different tops and wraps to go with it. That's what I am planning for this next cruise. The clothes are beautiful. Plus their sizing is cool size 1,2,3,and4. How fun to get to say I'm wear a size 3 or 2 or 4.maybe someday a 1 :rolleyes1
Have fun in London. My prayers have been with them. There is a couple we know from England who were on the last 10 day, and they are going on this cruise as well. They have a little girl, can't remember her age but I know Julia(MAryAnn's DD) and her got along well also so one more playmate.

Brings up the thought of my DD. Sierra is almost 6 if anyone has a little one near her age...

GarRy hang in there. I'll be saying some prayers and wishing you lots of Pixie Dust. Remeber we will be thinking of you :love1: .

Hi jEn, glad to hear the trip is good. Would love to go the capital someday. Maybe when the girls are old enough to realize what its all about.

Well aren't I a rambler. Coffee is good :bitelip:
Have a great day all. D

Joke of the day........

"Oh, To Be Six Again"

A man asked his wife what she'd like for Mother's Day. She replied, "I'd like to be six again."

On Mother's Day, he woke early, made her a big bowl of Lucky Charms and then took her to Six Flags Theme Park. He put her on every ride in the park: The Death Slide, The Wall of Fear, The Screaming Monster Roller Coaster and every other thrill ride. Her head was reeling and her stomach was upside down.

He then took her to McDonald's where he ordered her a Happy Meal with extra fries and a chocolate shake. Then it was off to a movie, popcorn, soda pop, and her favorite candy, M&M's.

Finally she wobbled home with her husband and he leaned over with a big smile and lovingly asked, "Well Dear, what was it like being six again?" Her eyes slowly opened and her expression suddenly changed......... I MEANT DRESS SIZE, YOU DUMB ***!!!!!!!!!!!

The moral of the story.....Even when a man is listening, he is gonna get it wrong.

Yeah, its definetly something you have to be old enough to appreciate. We went to all the memorials (korean, vietnam, etc) and the holocaust museum, and arlington cemetary. It was really moving to see the changing of the gaurds at the tomb of the unknown soldier. The holocaust museum was also really sad. The images, and movies, and artifacts were really really sad. The destruction. Okay, i am tearing up just writing about it. Today we go to Georgetown. That should be fun. Going shopping. haha.

Did you all find my navigators? I did my best when scanning them in. I was going through the picture thread on the DCL main board and the pictures of the Repo cruise were amazing. I really really wish i was on that cruise. Well, I have to head out to another lecture. Will pop in later this evening. Take care all.

DCLgodess,

I looked and that is very helpful, thank you. But I am a bit confused as Saturday seems to have the front and last pages from Thursday.

The rest was great though. Gave me a good idea of what to plan in terms of clothes to think about packing (look at me, over 500 days out and I am already thinking of what to pack! DH and I just bought him three cool tropical type shirts at Meijer yesterday. I don't know if they will all last until then but I can always get him more before then. He loves to wear those during the day and then one for dinner on Tropical/Caribbean night.

Thanks,

Kat

It is great to hear about what you are doing in DC. My DS will be going for a week in Oct for a leadership program and it sounds like you are hitting many of the same places. I hope he gets out of it as much as it sounds like you are.

Denise, I have recently "discovered" Chicos and I love the store. They do have some great travel clothes that can be used for the nights to dress up. It also has some great casual stuff.

I went on summer break at the beginning of Jun and have yet to accomplish anything I needed to. Once summer break hits I think my brain just turns off. It is hot here so I am going to use that as my excuse. :goodvibes The big goal for the day is to find riding boots for my son for the dude ranch.

Have a great day.

Hey Bubbles,
Fluffy is here, just reading. She's just fluffing and waiting to be a smart ---.
We saw a lady who looked alot like Lynda but the gilrs were asking me where Cash was.
Ta, Bunny

Gotta love Chicos Pooh Luver!! The clothes are beautiful. If only they were a little less expensive, I'de buy a lot more. :flower:

I will look into that Kat. Thanks for the update. I will check that out right now.

I have looked at the clothes on Chico's. I hate to buy clothes from catalogs though because they never fit me right (they certainly don't look like they do on the models!) and then I have to return them. And I agree with Denise, they are on the pricey side. Ah well. I have clothes for a formal night and one for a semi-formal so I am part way there anyway. And I have plenty of time to find more! Who knows, maybe I will see something cool in London later this week!

GarRy, my thoughts are with you too. Lots of pixie dust heading your way.

Kat

Ok I have to start a new subject. HOT FLASHES. I'm getting them
I just turned 40 darnit. Oh this is going to be a fun time.

I'm up for suggestions

Oh and Kat check your area. Chicos are popping up in store fronts. There are 8 stores in your state.

Denise, I will have to check it out. I haven't seen any here but maybe down in Indy or something. Oh well.

No real hot flashes for me yet (and I just turned 43!). I am glad in one way though I'd prefer to just get the whole darned mess out of the way and behind me.

I wish there was a smiley for tired...'cause I sure am. I really need to get to bed early tonite. I have to catch up on my sleep before Thursday. Trying to find a Harry Potter party to go to Friday night...fun fun fun.

kat

I'm with you Kat. DH went on a pub crawl Friday night and we are still recovering from his 2:30 am return home. What was he thinking that he's a 22year old again?
Can't wait for the new Harry Potter. DD5 and DD2 love Harry Potter. Good imaginations.
Sweet dreams
