12/16/06 10-day holiday cruise

Hi MaryAnn! That's just it....a mystery! Maybe the mystery will be solved one of these days. Just for you, I will add the next 10 night to my sig!
We had to cancel our August DCL Mexican Riviera, so we may just do some other mystery cruise....I don't know.....

Vegas was chilly....really chilly. And windy. BUT....our weather is supposed to get up into the 80's this next week, so theirs will get warmer, too.
I took capri's and 3/4 tops so that I wouldn't be too hot or too cold. Sweater-top and black slacks at night.

Sorry you had to cancel your Mexican Cruise. I'd love to be able to sneak in another cruise but I think I'd be pushing the envelope since I just snaked in two WDW trips for 2006.

I thought for sure I would be heading into nice summer weather in Vegas but, I guess not. Oh well, anything is better than looking at my muddy, sand covered yard. There is so much sand on my lawn and mud in my backyard. It was certainly a tough winter around here.

OK, have a question. Does anyone here know anything about America West? I never fly out west and found a non-stop BOS-Vegas for $300.00 and grabbed it about a year ago. I get a call yesterday saying or flight is "seriously" overbooked . Asks if we would be open to other alternatives. I ask, "what would the options be"? She replies, "not much" . Well I guess I'm not open to alternatives then. THen she says, "make sure you're at the gate at least two hours prior or you will be bumped". Now, we have a 8:15PM flight on Friday so that would really screw up things. I say to Jimmy, this is not a good sign.

It rained all day here yesterday and now the sun is out and looks to be a great day.

I trade back & forth between America West and Southwest....don't usually fly any other airlines.
Check in online with America West up to 24 hrs ahead of time, then be at the airport AT LEAST one hour ahead to check your bags. That way, you won't get bumped. You'll be checked in......no problem.
Being there two hours ahead of time is just plain stupid. Another way to insure that you don't get bumped would be to check in online and then carry on your bags. That way, you won't be standing in line to check bags, you can go straight to the gate.
Jay & I were just talking about the airlines "over-booking". I just don't see how they can get away with that!!

Good Morning all,

What a nice weekend here. Yeah MaryAnn I was out in the sun having fun. Fixed our mailbox post, watered, weeded, puttered in the garage, and most of all went to tha Junior Carlsbad Marathon and watched Sierra participate. She was my hero. One half mile for 5 year olds. She hasn't taken off her medal. What a confidence booster for her. She was a totally different kid all weekend.
Had some friends over for dinner and went througha 12 pack of Newcastle and 3 yes 3 bottles of merlot. Needless to say I was a slow mover yesterday.
Well I have to make it short as mom is having some surgery today...the tendon in her hend that controls her arthritic finger is getting sliced. Apparently it will relieve some of the pain.

Well, got Another call from America West a few minutes ago. Now they are asking us to be bumped for the return flight which is the following Saturday at 10:15PM...I DON'T THINK SO!!!! Oh, they are making me so nervous.

I got everyone to nap here at the same time today (a rarity) so it is soooo quiet right now...Nice!!

I told her we might meet at chocolate world and she was like "oh that's cool". So maybe we should plan on meeting then. I got my day off from work so pray it doesn't rain. lol.

That way your Mom would see we are not internet strangers. When gaRry gets back on line I will ask him times.
