morning gaRry - missed you! weather says we may get a sloppy mix today, starting with snow turning to rain. I can deal with it as long as it warms up fast so we don't get any ice.

we got about .5 inches of snow overnight, and its slowing down. Then it will turn to rain. As long as the SATs aren't canceled tomorrow, i really don't care what it does. I am so ready to take this beastly test.

Hi everybody,

Woo I love honest mechanics. My lease is up in 3 months and he just tightened the hoses that are going to need to be replaced but not right now. :teeth: That was a $400 savings. God love him.

So my lemon tree is overgrown and I pruned it yesterday. The bees weren't too happy about that. But I got poked by one of the thorns. What the heck is in those things? My finger started hurting and swelled and blistered this morning. Same thing happens with roses. Oh I know I'm allergic to gardening right? Is there a poison on those thorns or am I just sensative?

Hey Jimmy...at least its not the front window hey? :rotfl2: When I lived in Maine I drove a car that didn't have a heater. Switch hands every ten miles or so ..keep the other under your leg.Wear all outer clothing while driving and sneer at all the drivers who havew heaters as you use your credit card to scrape the frost off the interior window. :cold: Good times yeah good times.

Got that cold too. Sniffles and cough. Don't you just love decongestants? Took a night time yesterday morning and was a zombie for half the day.I wish everyone well. I'm into week 2 myself. I'm in a snotty mood today HAH. :rotfl2: I crack me up sometimes.

Ok I have to go run errands since the squirrels are at school. Have a great Friday all.

cheers- D (TGIF) :drinking1

Hey Stacey,

How's your new housemate? Glad to read that you have someone who understands you. :flower:

Have fun with those taxes. :badpc:

-D

The taxes are done, and I am a happy little person. I even got most of Jay's dad's done today, too. Free....freeee.....all the big deadlines are almost all gone!!

I don't have the dog yet. Megan is getting him clipped and I get him on Sunday. I went to visit him today, and he didn't want me to let him down. I have a feeling he's going to become a big (little) spoiled baby. I have never had a dog you could actually hold...they have all been BIG dogs. This might be fun. (I said might)

Yesterday it was 82° and today it hit 88°. We went right from winter into summer. I wore jeans to work today and almost roasted!

Good news, Jesse's cardiologist says his heart muscle is stronger and did not change his meds. Sam's lab work came back with GREAT numbers for her liver function. Jeanne sees her cardio and eye docs on Monday. Hope she gets good reports!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad I am healthy :teeth:

Stacey - Can't wait for you to tell me if a small dog is like a cat. I have always had big dogs.

Good Evening Everyone.....

Well about a .5 inch of snow today, just enough to make the driving crazy. Too bad I have to go to a wedding Sunday Morn or I would go skiing. We are supposed to get more tomorrow, how much depends on how far the storm stays out to sea. They can never predict these storms correctly. You just wait and see what's on the ground when it's over with.

Denise, glad to hear the mechanic was kind to you. More $$$ for the cruise, ya know.

Stacey, a big DIS welcome to the newest member of your family. He sounds really cute!!! Taxes are done?!?!?! I am very jealous. You are much more organized than me. Oh, and a little jealous of the weather you have too.

Sue, glad to hear the good news. Hope everyone STAYS healthy.

My Dad has informed us he will no longer go to anymore DR appointments. So they will not be able to treat the tumor in his lungs since he will not allow them to do a biopsy. They are 85% sure it is cancer (that is treatable) but without the biopsy they are not 100% sure there for cannot proceed with treatment. I really don't know what to do with him. He's old, Italian & stubborn...an impossible combination.

jEn - good luck on the SATs :wizard:

thanks very much. I better head off to bed before i fall alseep in the middle of the test. Take care all.

jEn GOOD LUCK and lots of PIXIE DUST tomorrow. I know you are probably in bed already.

Stacey I had some friends in college that had a little dog...they had a harness made for him with the grim reaper on it. Really cute sweet dog just looking up at you with the reaper across his chest. Too cute. :) Little ones are sweet. Paul reffers to them as toe jam though. Can't wait to hear how it works out.

Ditch the wedding MaryAnn. Go skiing for me and I'll lay out for you. DEAL?
Have a great weekend all.

D

Finished father-in-law's taxes......that was easy, for now. He passed away last March 21st, so there wasn't a whole lot to do. After this tax season, though, we will be finalizing his estate and that may be a pain. Oh well, one thing at a time.

I am going to pick up the little bugger Sunday....but I doubt Megan will have had him clipped. The fun starts right away...I get to see what it's like to take a dog to the groomer...on a regular basis. They lost his collar, so I think I'll get him a harness instead. I think they work better for big dogs, how much different could a little dog be?:confused3
Maybe I'll buy a rhinestone studded harness!

Friends of ours are going skiing in Flagstaff this weekend. Just a few hours' drive, and I too, could be enjoying snow! NOT!

Tomorrow Jared's baseball league is having team pictures and a carnival. I was given the choice of running the cotton candy machine for 2 hours, or working the bungee jump for a half hour. Hmmmmm:scratchin Jay couldn't believe that I turned down the cotton candy......I LOVE cotton candy....but, two hours out in the sun, plus standing around for pics? No thanks. I NEVER should have had kids at my late age!

That is a tough one! I know that if Jay's dad had not had the last stroke, we NEVER would have gotten him to a doctor. Up until then, he kept insisting that he was perfectly healthy and could take care of himself.......yeah, right.
I'm guessing that he doesn't have a Medical Power of Attorney, or a guardian? I just wondered if he had the Medical POA....maybe that person could step in and authorize? I guess not, if your Dad is of sound mind. Maybe his refusal of treatment could be taken as not being capable of making his own medical decisions?? Just trying to think of ways around all the legal stuff, and getting him the treatment he needs. Otherwise, I imagin you would just have to wait until he gets tired of being sick, and decides to go. I wonder if we all get that stubborn? I know Jay's parents did, and mine are.......
Good luck with that one........wish I could be of some help.

Mary Ann I am very sorry about your Dad. You never know how they will react to illness. My Dad had leukemia and had his blood transfusion/treatment just three days before he died.

Sue

this is turning into a very sad thread. lol. people just signing up for this cruise are going to think we are all very sad people. lol. Naw just kidding. I am very sorry to hear about your dad Mary Ann. My dad died from cancer almost three years ago. It was very sad. But he was a fighter and wouldn't give up. Some people are just ready to go. :sad2:

good. I think i rocked the essay. the rest of the test was pretty straighforward. So i hope i did well. I won't know for two weeks from today how i did. I can't wait to get the scores back though.

how are you?
