Good morning Christmas Cruisers!!!! Another day closer!!!! I started to lay out the clothes I am going to pack this morning. The sad things is the shirts I have for DD are all the wrong color for the shorts that still fit her!!! The shirts are all in the turquoise range and the shorts are red and light and dark blue! All of her black shorts have gotten a little small. Wonder if I can convince her blue jean shorts are ok? If so, I can still find those around here. Hmmm.....

And my tomboy actually picked out a beautiful dress for Christmas Eve formal night last night!!!! I about fell over!!! :faint: She looked stunning in the first one she tried on but she decided she liked this other one better. It is a bit simpler but still absolutely gorgeous. And when she was trying to decide between the two she actually said to me "I can't decide, they are both so pretty"!!!! And she says she's not a girly girl. Ok, she isn't, but still! There's hope for her yet. :woohoo:

How great. I love it when the kids get all dressed up - but kids don't. I have the opposite problem. Lots of size 18 shorts but they fall off and kids say I embarrass them in them.

That's only the way life is if you live your life with an open heart to love others. I think your sadness now is a testament to your ability to love. You probably have that, to no small degree, because you were loved so deeply by your grandmother. So, you see, she is living on in the way you live your life. You have that precious piece of her with you always.

Come to think of it, I need to remind my own kids about that surprise wedding. My husband and I have been married 16 years but it is never to early to start planning (especially if it is going to be a surprise!). If my son (18Eagles18) ever signs back on to this board, maybe someone can bring it up :smooth:

I knew there was a connections somewhere with 18eagles!

good morning,
i didnt think anyone else was on now..
bathing suits.....bah...bad word..i havent even tried one on for the cruise yet...i guess i better get started..i dread it..i lost 23 pounds thn gaind 10 back..its a fighting battle every day..
signing off now
take care

Don't ask... I knew I should not go to school today. Lost electricity over night. Not a big deal I have one of those atomic alarm clocks because it happens all the time. But no coffee.

Then I pulled on the shower and it fell apart in my hand sending a flood of water into the bathroom and leaving it 3 inches deep until my husband cound get off the water - cleaned it up but alas, no shower this morning and still no coffee... no water now.

Now my work computer says !!!Hardware Theshols Alert!!!!. I guess I need to call the help desk.

Just another Monday but we are closer to vacation :)

Good Morning!

DS's high school football team won this weekend and advanced further into the playoffs. Next game is Saturday at noon. They usually play at night but changed the time due to the Ohio State game.

I need a new bathing suit. I have about 3 but they are a little big. We do have a store in our area that sells nothing but bathing suits all year round. Guess I'll check them out. If they're too expensive, I'll stick with the ones that I have, they aren't too bad.

Jen--checked out your navigator, it's nice. Thanks. Last time we met on starboard side of deck 10. Is that where it will be again?

Off to my appointment, then grocery store, then get the kids, then dinner, etc....

Judy

Joanie, I don't know anything about sending packages, sorry. I think there are several threads about that on the main cruise board, though.

As for cards, I have a list of at least 23 family groups that I know are going to be with us and at least 5 more that may or may not still be going. I bought two boxes of cards and will just bring them all and see what happens.

Here is the list I have so far. If anyone can think of anyone I have left off this list that they know is going please let me know and we can update the list. I will try to post it on the Yahoo site as well (I sorted the list alphabetically):

"Got Disney"

yes i definitly want to be cruising...no more tickets

I had pretty good luck buying bathing suits from the Lands End web site. They have lots of different styles and specific ways of measuring yourself to get the best fit. Also, you can return them at Sears, which is a nice perk. I haven't bought a bathing suite in a couple of years but I am going to check out the Lands End site for this cruise.

I hate buying swim suits in the first place because they never look very good on me. I don't think I could bring myself to buy them from a catalog, I'd end up having to send them back most likely!! :rotfl:

I thought the same thing and I have sent some back but Lands End lets you chose the leg cut and the arm cut, color, fabric. I was surprised actually. My husband and I both get our suits from there.

Do you ever get the sense that she is looking down on you? My dad passed away two years ago and my son's Bar Mitzvah was this past May. My mom and I joked that dad was relieved not to have to go. He always went dutifully to family events but never really liked all the crowd and hullabaloo, especially at organized religious things. But, during the weekend I had the sense that he WAS there. Maybe wishful thinking, but I had that sense.

well, i know that she is looking down and watching us. but i'm not sure if i've ever actually felt it. but i know she is.

(i'm about to make myself a really big dork...) it's weird, i'm really into the show, ghost hunters. for some reason i love it. and this one time while i was watching my mom asked me what i was watching. so i told her. she thinks the show is boring, stupid and not real. she says that if ghosts were real that my grandmother would have visited in some way, either as a 'ghost' or even in a dream. i think it is all very real. maybe my mom's just hoping/wishing too hard.

yeah, there are just some things that shouldn't be bought from a catalouge. suits are probably the hardest. because they all fit differently. however, if i get anything from speedo that's really easy. i'm happy they started making 'normal' suits (as in non-racing suits, like beach suits, bikinis and stuff like that). cause swimming totally 'killed' my body so that normal things don't fit me right :rotfl:

Ok, I just got the kiddies out the door to school. Speaking of sports crazed teenagers, 18Eagles18 is my 13 year old son, George. Figures. :sad2: I have asked him to post the web site where he found out about the Europe sailings.
Morning/afternoon all :sunny: another hot day here...
George should hook up with My son Branden(13 in Jan) and Susans son Nick(14)...they have been chatting...They seem to have hit it off well.

Bathing suits...blah...I need to get a NUBRA Enhanser for mine...my B***s
have gone south for the winter and I look like ..well need I say more!

Thanks for putting together all the names for cards...I know that Jen has them all but have not heared from some..at least we know of these for sure.

Lots to do today...going to try and put up christmas tree today...also any ideas on what to buy kids for christmas and Birthday that have it all...$$ is good but they love to open gifts.. :confused3

i like to get my bathing suits from Venus Swimwear
