Good morning Christmas Cruisers!!!! Another day closer!!!! I started to lay out the clothes I am going to pack this morning. The sad things is the shirts I have for DD are all the wrong color for the shorts that still fit her!!! The shirts are all in the turquoise range and the shorts are red and light and dark blue! All of her black shorts have gotten a little small. Wonder if I can convince her blue jean shorts are ok? If so, I can still find those around here. Hmmm.....

And my tomboy actually picked out a beautiful dress for Christmas Eve formal night last night!!!! I about fell over!!! :faint: She looked stunning in the first one she tried on but she decided she liked this other one better. It is a bit simpler but still absolutely gorgeous. And when she was trying to decide between the two she actually said to me "I can't decide, they are both so pretty"!!!! And she says she's not a girly girl. Ok, she isn't, but still! There's hope for her yet. :woohoo:

My 10 year old son is now typing away to post something on that thread. He is getting smilie happy! :Pinkbounc

My 13 year old is afraid of missing an NFL football game while we are cruising. Isn't there a place on the ship to watch those?

My 10 year old kinda likes those smilies too!

And if there is a place to watch the games, he can join my sports-crazed 14 and 16 year olds...they used to have the ESPN area, but now that is the stack. :confused3

Ok, I just got the kiddies out the door to school. Speaking of sports crazed teenagers, 18Eagles18 is my 13 year old son, George. Figures. :sad2: I have asked him to post the web site where he found out about the Europe sailings.

Hmm, just pulled them up on Rhapsody and listened to a bunch of their songs. Love and Memories sounds too pop for me. Heard the World isn't too bad but I liked That Was a Crazy Game of Poker better. Hold on True seems to be my favorite of all the ones I listened to, though. According to Rhapsody they are based in Columbus, Ohio and they play frat-rock. I don't listen to much current music. Five for Fighting is about the only current group (can you call one man at a piano a group??) that I like. The rest of what I listen to is older...but then so am I :rotfl:

yeah... the first time i heard love and memories i was like whoa this doesn't sound like them at all. i like their old stuff a lot more than the new stuff. crazy game of poker is the big song, well, before love and memories anyways. my favorite is delicate few. yeah i knew it was something weird like 'frat-rock' whatever that's supposed to be! haha. they started here in rockville. they're all from this area and went to high school here. i believe they went to college in ohio and that's where they picked up the guy who plays the sax. some of the older stuff doesn't have the sax. but they always call maryland home. i understand why they say they're from ohio, it might be where they live now, but they got their start here, they're from here, and they always make a big deal about being back home in maryland.

Is anyone doing the MVMCP before the cruise? We are flying down on the evening of the 14th and I was planning on going to the MVMCP on the 15th. We did this for our last cruise for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and it worked out fabulous. I haven't brought the tickets yet. I'm debating if I should preorder and save $18 or decide once we get there? Any thought?

i'm going on the december 1st! not that that helps you at all :rotfl2:

morning! all... was a bad weekend at my house. so i kind of hid (sad family stuff...)... still trying to play a little catch up to see what i missed. right now i'm at the bathing suit part. i don't think i should say how many suits i own. let's just put it at waaaaay too many. and if i could live in a suit all year i'd be happy :sunny: :rotfl2:

Morning all. How is everyone today?

Holly, sorry to hear you had a bad weekend. Is everything ok now? Anything you want to talk about?

How true, how true. Eagles vs Giants. We live in a town without NFL so my children have to adopt a team from somewhere else.

i heart eli manning... and he's my fantasy qb :lmao:
yeah i want both those teams to lose, they're both in my division...

finally caught up! haha

morning kat.

nothing major, yesterday was just the anniversary of my grandmother's death. so it was just a sad day for us. *sigh* went and saw 'stranger than fiction' last night. probably not a good idea for the day cause i broke down at one point when they were talking about death. you're not supposed to cry at a funny movie! :rolleyes1

my parents just celebrated 25 in june :teeth:

Here's something to put away to plan for the future, Sugaswim: When my parents had their 50th anniversary, my brothers and I threw them a surpirse Wedding! It was amazing. We told them we were taking them out to dinner for their anniversary and when we walked into the restaurant (they didn't even know was usually closed on Sundays) they were greeted by 100 family and friends and walked down the isle! It's such a great memory.

omg! that's so cool! i will lock that away for an idea at a later point in time! that would be neat to do!

thanks sarah. it's been 4 years now, but it's still hard *sigh* my birthday is hard too. i was born on her birthday. i loved sharing the day with her. now it seems like a very lonely day at times. oh well, that's life i guess.

That's only the way life is if you live your life with an open heart to love others. I think your sadness now is a testament to your ability to love. You probably have that, to no small degree, because you were loved so deeply by your grandmother. So, you see, she is living on in the way you live your life. You have that precious piece of her with you always.

Come to think of it, I need to remind my own kids about that surprise wedding. My husband and I have been married 16 years but it is never to early to start planning (especially if it is going to be a surprise!). If my son (18Eagles18) ever signs back on to this board, maybe someone can bring it up :smooth:

yeah. it will get a little easier i'm sure as time goes on. the thing that makes me sad is that she didn't get to see me graduate college. she'll never get to see me get married, she'll never get to see my kids. those are the things that make me the saddest. (that and she'll never get to finish harry potter, she loved harry potter... not that harry potter is really important :lmao: )

haha i'll be sure to point it out to your son ;) (maybe after i stop hating the eagles long enough to bring it up to him.. ahahaha)

Do you ever get the sense that she is looking down on you? My dad passed away two years ago and my son's Bar Mitzvah was this past May. My mom and I joked that dad was relieved not to have to go. He always went dutifully to family events but never really liked all the crowd and hullabaloo, especially at organized religious things. But, during the weekend I had the sense that he WAS there. Maybe wishful thinking, but I had that sense.

If you felt that he was there then he probably was.

I think that's true. My children go to a religious school and they have no doubts about things like that. It's really great.

Children are great in their ability to believe in what they feel. It is sad that so many lose it as they grow to adulthood. My 10 year old asked me the other day if I believe in magic and I told her yes. And I do. I cannot imagine not believing that there is some magic in the world! :wizard:
