We have one that is 45 minutes to an hour south of us in Indianapolis and one in Ft. Wayne, about an hour to 90 minutes north of us. Time always depends on traffic. No way will they open one near us :(. I have a couple of neat POTC shirts I have gotten there and a great Tinkerbell shirt. And I always get DH a new T-shirt to sleep in when we go on a Disney Cruise. I got his a while back and have had it put away, he doesn't even know I have it!

Shelly -I can totally relate - my kids are 14 and 16. We took a 3 night cruise last november and my now 14 year old was uncomfortable there but his sister loved it (never came back to the room before 2am) My 8th grader is a boy and he is normally very outgoing. He is looking forward to the teen club this time but I don't think his sister is thrilled about him stunting her good time.

Susan, So in your opinion you think the Stack is the best place for my 13 year old DD (8th grader also), she just turned 13 in Sept. or should she go to the quest area? How supervised is it (the Stack that is)? I don't have a problem with her having a little independence but I would worry if it was her and a bunch of 17 year old boys (for example). This in between age group is tough. Shelly

And I thought it was bad having to deal with my independent 10 year old who simply wants to be able to sign herself in and out of the clubs! Still not sure on that one :confused3 . Of course, she is 10 going on 16 so..... :rolleyes1

Yay, glad I could help! It looks good!

Did you get my pm this morning?
Kat, I did get your pm this morning. We don't have our room assignments yet. The stocking idea is so cute, very clever and thank you for thinking of me however my kids (with mother in laws assistance) are busy with surprise decorations for the door and I would assume they will go over the top with no room for anything!!! I do appreciate the gesture though. :teeth: Have you reserved any excursions yet? We haven't because we don't want to over schedule ourselves and so we are still deciding which ones we can't miss out on.

Kat, I agree with being up in the air with the signing in and out thing. We let the then 12 year old DD sign herself out the first time this summer and she was very responsible, no wandering around that sort of thing. I don't know if I would feel comfortable with the 9 DS (almost 10) doing the same on this trip. I'm pretty sure I will still sign him in and out. Boys that age can get into all kinds of trouble in the short walk from point a to point b.

Shelly, the stocking doesn't actually go on the door. We are putting them on the fish that are next to the doors.

Angela, you are driving to Orlando??!!!!!

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: to SEATTLE! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We are driving to the airport! I think Susan thought we were on the other side of the mountains. But we are on the same side as her, just south alittle like 45 minutes.

I can already see it. My DNephew (9) is great -- a bit of a daredevil if you will. Nothing really scares him. You know the kind "Why not jump of the bench with your skateboard?" My DS (7) is a bit of a rule follower. He is the child saying "Do you really think that is safe?" OK so he has been around me a bit too much but ... Anyway, I think it will be great that they will be spending time together but I can ready he the statement "But Riley said it was ok." :rotfl2: :lmao: I am glad he cannot check himself out of the club :teeth: I am super glad they are not Teens, Tweens or anywhere near that!!!

We have my neices (9) and (11). The younger is very much a rule follower but loves the older cousins sophisticated style. Gosh I am glad I have a boy!! All of the Lusk clan is very friendly and social I haven't gotten Ryan on the board yet but he has been asking. Maybe emails would work better for him.

Dee, Oh Dee where are you?

Ok so things you bring:

walkie talkies? baggies? video camera? over the door shoe holder? T-Shirt or pillow case and Sharpies? How many pictures do you usually take? Has anyone ever down loaded on the ship? How much does that cost?

Tips - I need some tips.

Ok and was wondering does anyone in our group have a morning or evening walking routine? Is there time? I think I will want to eat so I will need to find some time to exercise. What time does the gym open? Oh boy the questions keep popping into my mind.

oh i still go get myself in trouble lol..and i'm a "young adult"

Continuing with the small world theme. DW's mom lives in Hendersonville. (Used to live in Asheville) after moving from Atlanta.

Never cared for El Azteca that much, probably because I ate too much of it while in college since they had a student discount. Used to like Rio Bravo, but they went downhill, then out of business.

So what is the best Mexican restaurant in Atlanta, since we go so often? Hendersonville is a very nice area, little more laid back than Asheville.

walkie talkies - very helpful
baggies - yes for waterproofing
video camera- just keep it dry and its your best friend
shoe holder - if you have a lot of shoes and alot of people good idea
signage stuff - its always fun for the kiddies
southwest tickets - don't remember..but the internet usage kills you more...you can't download your pics

Today I feel spoiled. Our weather is perfect, and as I drive down my street I look at a hill covered with the most gorgeous Fall colors anywhere. I could almost pretend to be in the smokies....[/QUOTE]

A week ago our colors were glorious, now most of them are on the ground. Peek time has come and gone. The weather here has been beautiful, very comfortable.

Yes I bring my Walkie talkies
I give my memorie card to the Photo people on the ship and they download it and give it back..not that expensive. I dont have them develop the pictures just download on a disk.
I dont bring a Pillow case I bring a Photo Mat and give it to the desk for all to sign than pick up the night before we debark.
I take about 150-200 pictures easy..lol click click on a long cruise as this.
We also take advantage of as many photo pictures as possible that DCL takes and than decide which ones we want to buy or not...but they are fun to have taken and look at. Every year we purchase an 8x10 of there professional(sp) photos.

anything else? popcorn::

Shelly,

I have only been on one Disney cruise and my kids loved it so much they picked this Holiday trip. My 14 yr old is very immature and had severe ADHD - always going not always thinking. My 16DD is a stick in the mud conservative (can you tell I'm not!). Yet they both enjoyed it. Lexi said they had 3-4 councelors at all times. Often they have several events going on at the same time for different age groups. I found it to be very safe, but I also have a lot of trust in my kids. Kids enjoyed going the the show with us every night and ate dinner with us. They are also doing excusions with us by choice. DD said it was a blast every night, DS (8th grader) came back to the room and slept one night - he knows his limits.

Hope this helps, Susan

Yes, I thought you lived near Prosser. Confused as always

I think I'm the only one on...

If you have adjoining doors - we had to purchase a shoe lace to keep them open. My sisters 13 yr old and mine wanted to feel like they shared a room so be tied the door open - bungie cord would have worked better.

OKay back to work for a while.
