i had the most awesome tutor...he'd scored perfect 5 times (he is a test tester)....but i was so happy...we didn't do much with math...just the reading and writing.

I will be happy to email the tips to anybody who wants them...

OMG! if you did that good, i need those tips also. Thanks in advance.

"Hey Everyone!

Just got back from the PSAT's and they were so-so. English and Writing was easy for the most part but I felt like I knew none of the math hate math! I guess we will see. Nothing else excited planned here for today. Beautiful weather, 78 and not a cloud in the sky. Finishing our excursion plans today"

(from Lexi) I totally understand about the PSATs. I took mine on Wednesday. I agree that the writing/reading/grammar part was pretty easy, but the math made me feel exceedingly dumb. I kept thinking, "I should know how to do this, I learned how to do this, why can I not remember how to do this???"

Hey,

Glad to hear I am not the only one who thought math was so hard. But after taking it, I sure felt discouraged about taking the real SAT's. Hopefully I did better then I though.

don't feel discouraged..the PSATs are much harder than the SATs...well at least they were to me...i only scored in the 95% in math and only 85% in the english

My signs and magnets look great. Have made the magnetic Mickie ears in black but for christmas need to figure out how to make them red...still working on that. Have not read all the posts from today but will try to catch up later....have a great night :goodvibes ..

Another idea  that I saw on the boards was to use the things you just made as patterns and make the ears out of that foam stuff. Then you can attach magnetic strips to the back. You can buy the foam in any color.

I've been doing all of my stuff on cardstock and laminating it instead of using the magnetic paper. I had the cardstock, and several people have had trouble with the magnetic paper. My printer is weird so I didn't even try it. :badpc:

Much teenage drama in our house last night. Oldest (usually responsible) got himself in a homework bind--lost something important needed for a research paper. I feel bad for him, but can't do anything about it--except put up with the ranting that he directed at anyone he could find. :furious: Oh well.

Is it time for the cruise yet?? :beach:

Actually, I have to get happy. DS10 actually becomes DS10 today. :bday: so I've got to try to make it special. I'm taking him lunch at school. They have a new policy that we can't bring treats on birthdays-instead have designated snack day one day per month, which was, for him, last Friday. Of course, along with the policy is a rule that anything brought has to be store bought. I guess it is a sign of our times that we can't have a birthday cupcake because kids are overweight and we can't have anything made at home because some people are sickos. I know where the new rule comes from, but think it is a shame. :sad2: He will have a party in a few more weeks (after everyone's sport seasons end.)

Well, got the iron-on for my Captain Jack shirt printed. Didn't have time to iron it on this morning. Hoping I can get to it tonight. I think it is going to look really good!!!

:lmao: The first one I printed out was too dark, it wouldn't have looked good. But you have a point! We were discussing that the other day. My Mom was watching Once Upon a Time in Mexico and I allowed as how Johnny Depp is ok but he doesn't really do it for me. It's Jack Sparrow that does it. She agreed. Something about him. The look, the attitude, the man....it's a good thing he isn't real, that's all I can say!!!!

Wow--the board started doing weird stuff all of a sudden!

I think Johnny has his moments with or without Jack Sparrow, but there is something so captivating about Jack! pirate:

Gonna go--have to go do workout :dance3: then celebrate birthday with DS10. :cake: If everyone's lucky I may even take a shower in between. :rotfl2:

See ya later!

Have fun today! I am at work... so off and on the boards all day.

Later!

morning everybody...got very little sleep but that's okay. The time i did sleep was deep so i feel refreshed. its like 40 here today...BRRR!

Good morning everyone. I'm now at work and have a busy day - review for the test I am giving tomorrow on America's era of "big Business and unions".

Jen- we got a cool map. No stars or lines but we turned it from bright colors to sepia and made a burnt edge effect. I think I will add locations and lines with my scrapbooking materials, maybe even pirate charms (I found some a couple of weeks ago). We are going to try and print it on magnetic paper - sent DH out to find some - he is really into the pirate thing. Do you think it's the chance to dive in the Caribbean?

Still waiting on the door art. Think we will put both on the door. We are very excited. December can't come soon enough. I actually got out my scrapbook stuff and attempted to finish my last trip to WDW and cruise - a year ago! I'm bad at keeping up with it.

Susan, I emailed your sign so you should have gotten it. Please let me know if you don't. I'd love to see the one you are doing. I am really into the pirate thing (my office currently has a pirate theme) but DH isn't so I am pretty much on my own with that. That's ok, though.

Good Morning All :surfweb:

A Big :cake: :bday: :cake: to Kevin party:

Hope you guys have a great day celebrating!!!

what do you mean its the chance to dive? you can dive at every port. We are arranging a dive in key west...we are diving in St. Thomas and St. Lucia... we didn't like St. Maarten because it was very rough. No dive shop will contact us back in Antigua. I wish CC had diving. So there are plenty of chances to dive...

What I meant was  do you think he likes the pirate thing because of diving.

My ds has got to do his dive homework tonight before his classes tomorrow!

Morning everyone, *checks clock* I have a doozy of a headache today, can't shake it, even with two cups of coffee so far. I'm puttering today, managed to even organize 4 kitchen drawers today. Starting to get all of our cruise decorations together.

I got that really neat half tree thinking it would take up less room. So hubby is looking at the tacky fiber optic tree and going, 'this is gonna look so cool in our room'. Not sure how I'm going to break it to him that we are taking the other one. Men! Well, what do I expect, the first Christmas I knew him he had a silver tree with a rotating light on it!!
