Oh, and poor Jen who has to listen to us complain about our children--you know we're just venting, right? We really do love them, despite what it sounds like! :rotfl2:

And I'm sure your mother says nothing but nice things about you and your sister and you never frustrate her at all! :teeth:

um yeah...that's it lol!!!!!!!

Besides, we need the men to keep replenishing the frozen drinks!

You're not crazy Susan, just planning ahead... for potty breaks and tummy shows!

Good afternoon all.

As an update on my father. He is still in ICU -they have now confirmed it was a "medium severe" heart attack rather then a mild one. And he was in the mids of his second one when he got to the hospital.

Now they have determined that the heart attack tavelled down the front of the heart to the tip and that there is a rather large blood clot at the tip of the heart.

The ICU let me speak with him this morning and he sounded chipper and told me no way in h**l was he going to stay there and he was going to sign himself out (stubborn german). He complained the beds were uncomfortable, the food was lousy and advised me that the large clock on the wall in the rooms in ICU were there so the physicians and nursed could document the time of death. :sad2:

Now he's been told he needs to stay until the blood clot clears and he is on several blood thinners and what he refers to as "rat poison".

He thinks he is going home on Saturday - not a chance he is being discharged on a weekend unless the specialist works that day.

I will try to go and see him and leave after my doctors appointment tonight - it's about a 2 hour drive.

Anyway - My house is always clean - sometimes not always tidy- due to endless disney toys that are left everywhere. I do try to keep the toys off the main floor.

Thanks again for all your support.

is he going to have Open heart surgery to remove the clot?

Denise..my dad was a stubbern German also and sounds just like him in the hospital or anywhere for that matter...lol glad to her he still has his spunk during a trying time.

Now, see what my Dh and Ds has started! I think we should just leave all the kids and Dh at home and go on a ladies cruise! :cool1:

As for my house, it is in the middle. Again it is me,"Yes me" that does the cleaning up after 4 men (we have 83y.o roommate that has been with us for 20 years.) and 3 dogs :dog: and 2 cats :cat: and 2 fish :fish: . When I ask them to do there chores they look at me ...all of them..like I'm talking in a foreighn language!
And how about that Okay I'll do it and it never gets done! I have no excuse because I am a stay at home mom,but am very involved with wolunteering at both schools.
Also when they do clean up they don't do right...there remark is Well mom you want everything perfect!..lol They are good kids and don't get into any trouble at school (good thing to since everyone at the school know me!)

Okay so you have bought the book"Yes' your teen is crazy" have you started reading it yet or is it gathering dust? lol it will only help if you read it. Has helped wonders with my Tween soon to be 13!!

Jen,
So how is your break going? have you seen your boyfriend? Were you one of these kids when you lived at home? have not seen very many posts from you...what have you been doing to keep so busy?

So think I have covered everyone...When I get on everyone has already posted...have to catch up :teeth:

Robin :surfweb:

A Poam for the Day

"Dust if You Must"

Dust if you must but wouldn't it be better
to paint a picture or write a letter,
bake a cake or plant a seed.
Ponder the difference between want and need.

Dust if you must but there's not much time,
with rivers to swim and mountains to climb!
Music to hear and books to read,
friends to cherish and life to lead.

Dust if you must but the worlds out there
with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair,
a flutter of snow,a shower of rain.
This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must but bear in mind,
old age will come and it's not kind.
And when you go and go you must,
you yourself,will turn to dust.
The end

remember, a house becomes a home when you can write"I love you" on the
furniture....(because of all the dust left on it)

Thought I would throw this in...to remind us all that there is more to life then spending all day cleaning!!!!

Robin

Denise, I had the same thought. Sounds like your dad is doing OK for himself under the circumstances if he is so feisty! We'll keep you all in our prayers.

And YES, I have started reading the book--now if I can just get my teenagers to quit behaving that way long enough for me to finish it! :rotfl:

Thought I was getting a break, 'cause DSs are playing away. Unfortunately, now the phone is ringing with people looking for them. (Including a group of giggly girls calling for the 10 year old, who only identified themselves as "Kev's friends.) He's going to get asked about that! I was on a call trying to coordinate the tennis match for my 14 year old when they called, so no caller ID--can I tell you how happy I am that this Saturday is the last tennis match of the season and then "my turn" will be over? :cool1:
All this coordinating of children's schedules (my own AND his team) is a :headache: .

OK, so as I'm typing the phone rings again. This time I have caller ID, so I know which giggly girl was calling. She pretended to be someone else (used the other girl's name) and asked if he was home yet. Are these girls really in fourth grade? Actually, they're really nice little girls--I'm blaming the early release for making them  !

See you all later. All this talk of housework reminds me that I haven't dusted in about a month! :guilty: :rolleyes1

At this time they are trying to resolve the clot with medication - so we will see if this works.

Off to clean my kitchen floor on my hands and knees - I have tile throughout the entire main floor from front to back in bathroom, laundyroom and the hall and kitchen. It always takes me a long time to wash it when I do it this way. But I feel a great sense of accomplishment when the house is clean. I have to admit I love to clean and especially doing laundry.

I don't like tidying up after everyone else, I don't do windows, I don't take out garbage and I don't cut the lawn nor do I shovel snow.

Everything else rests with me.

Love the Poem!!
