My wife Julie and I are booked and paid up for our first Disney cruise and this is it, the 12/16 Holiday cruise!! :cool1: . We'll have our two grandaughters in tow, Makayla(8) and Taylor(2). Looks like a great thread going here so we hope to be posting regularly. First question I've got is when is Pirates Night on this cruise? Makayla is excited about that for starters.

Welcome! We don't know for sure when Pirate night is. On the last 10 day Christmas cruise I believe it was on the St. Lucia day but I don't think we will know for sure when Pirate night or the formal and semi formal nights are until we get on board.

Definitely check out Jen's board from the link on her signature and email her with your information so you can be added to our list. We have some group activities going on (gatherings, ladies' night out, ornament exchange). fabulusk also has a link on her posts to a yahoo calendar that lists who is going on what excursions and when so if you have signed up for any of them you can join those who are going if you wish.

Brave grandparents to be bringing the two little ones! What a wonderful way to spend Christmas, though :santa:

Hang around, ask questions, join our crew. We're a fun bunch and you are more than welcome to join us!!

Our current discussion is on t-shirts. Jen has a wonderful design and we are looking at the best way for everyone to be able to get them. So far it looks like we are probably going to go with cafepress so everyone can order their own so they will already have them to wear when we board the ship so we can all find each other.

LOL. That's ok, we love you anyway, Jen! I don't think any of us are perfect in that department anyway!

i always joke, "Yeah i'm multilingual... I know English, Spanish, Arabic, Java, C++, C, Perl, PHP, and HTML"...lol

LOL!

I sent messages to some of those folks that only posted once a whole back to see if they were still planning on cruising with us. I looked back at the early pages on this thread and there are folks there that I don't see on the list so I don't know if they dropped out a long time ago or what (besides the ones I know did drop out). I don't want anyone to feel left out but it is going to be difficult to include those that lurk and don't make theselves known. :confused3 So if you know of anyone that is cruising with us that hasn't posted in a while, tell them to stop in and say hi.... :thumbsup2

Welcome, welcome! We'll look forward to your posts. If you follow some of the links mentioned you can find others close to the granddaughter age. Sounds like a fabulous Christmas gift for all of you!!!

The ladies is only available in white or pink, I believe. I am happy to go with the ladies' white, the ringer for those who want that, and the plain white. When I look at sizes on the plain white T-shirt it comes up with kid's sizes available and adults through 3x (which is good if DH decides he wants one because I will need a 3x for him). So that works for me if Jen can get them the high-res jpeg file. So we have that design on the back and then we would use Jen's Mickey at the wheel to make a smaller iron-on to put on the left front of the shirt, yes? Works for me. What about putting our DIS names on them for those of us with DIS names? Is that a good idea or a bad idea? If we are already making iron-ons for Mickey we could do one on the same sheet with the DIS name(s) (I have the "formula" for something close to DIS green in Adobe photoshop) and we could use the Walt Disney font and put it on the back under Jen's design maybe? Just a thought.....
I like your suggestion. That way they will look similar, but everyone can make the choices that best suit them. This is such a talented bunch, even if we aren't all perfect spellers!

Okay I am back...we won the football game by 1 point, both there team and ours have been undefeated...it was a great game. Wet and muddy also. :thumbsup2

Welcome DB and JB  glad you found us!!! you'l love your DC pirate:

So as for door signs:
Jen....I have been working on my door sign and want to know if there is something that I should be adding in regaurds to your Thread? Is there anything that we are all having the same of on our signs? I know that on the door we will have those wonderful Stockings...should I add anything else?

Shirts...I am game for anything but the iron on seems to be the easiest.

Ornaments are we doing this yes or no cause I would like to start looking...stilll time to decide however.

Also about the door signs...this is my first one...yes my first. Have always admired the sighns and thought it was neat but never did. Thanks to you guys and these boards I know feel like I belong...lol... :worship: :jumping1:
so does the type of magnetic paper matter?

So I am going to go eat. Have been watching my weight so I can fit into last years cruise cloths. I just have about 10 lbs to loose but man everytime I see bufflo wings, pizza.nachoes and cheese well I can go on and on. I just say I will be able to eat what ever I want on the cruise. My body just wants to hold onto these 10 lbs. So another Lean cuisine it is...lol... :teeth:

Catch ya later popcorn:: mmmm popcorn

I can make them as big as a movie poster if i want lol... I can also make the front of the shirt Hi res too for those doing iron ons....I have every disney font to date (including the DCL font which i made by hand) so if you need some fonts look me up lol....I have the exact DIS color in HEX and formula colors (red/blue/yellow)...lol....give me a shout if you want that too...

Robin, if you want me to take a look at it i would be glad too...I also have 50 + "Disney" fonts as well as access to Hi-def enabling software (Adobe Photoshop CS)

i believe it means that you are very helpful, respectful on the boards...what you get is a very spiced up display...(where your name and icon are)....color and multilines

The tag fairy chosses a particularly funny / cool / outstanding quote from a post (or posts) you made and puts in in your tag line (where you now have "never refuse a holiday dessert"). It's done in color. No one knows where the tag fairy lurks and how to get tagged (except the more you post, the better your chances) -- I hear s/he is imprevious to bribes of any kind... :teeth:

i set you up for the top Dee lol..'

in color!

Hi

Still cold and gray here!! My company from Georgia is here and they literally made it across the border in Buffalo just hours before they had the big snow storm. Hopefully they will have no issues leaving on Monday - although I'd be fine with them staying longer - they are a pleasure to have around.

Ok - about the ornament thing- I would love to particpate and it looks like we still don't have anyone to take this bull by the horns. So I am going to ask (hopefully I won't regret this). What is involved in organizing the ornament exchange. How does it work - I am a newbie at this.

I might be swayed in organizing the exchange if I can have a co-hort to help - maybe someone who knows how to do this or if anyone would be willing to give me information of what is involved.

BTW - having company when one is trying to loose weight before the cruise SUCKS!!!!!

Off to Mennonite country tomorrow and to yet another buffet (too bad there's not a smilie I can add here that gets bigger and explodes- cuz that's how I am feeling!!

Have a good evening

Denise
