Hey, west coasters, I am going to be in Seattle in August. Any suggestions for must see sights would be appreciated. DM wants to have dinner atop the Space Needle.

Definitely dinner at the Space Needle (kind of spendy but really fun). I have done the Underground Tour a couple of times and really enjoyed it. You learn about how a part of downtown is built on top of buildings that were there before. Make sure to visit the fish market at Pike Place Market. I just watched a video today in one of my classes about the market; one of their mottos is Play (rather than Work), and they are high-energy and a lot of fun (watch out for flying fish). I don't remember seeing it before, but it has been many years since I have been up there. We will be visiting Seattle for another one of my classes in a couple of weeks - taking Amtrak and touring the Alaska Airlines headquarters. I will try to get some touristy-type brochures to send you.

That is great, thank you. I saw the Underground Tour on line but wasn't clear about what it was. We like seeing other cities and what they have to offer. Hoping we get a view of Mt Rainier.

Ok that sounds like fun---I just thought I missed the private joke.

Denise those all sound great. Did you get to sample them all completed? What did you like the best? Have you ever done the art of cooking classes on the cruise? My mom enjoyed them, I ve never done them.

YES we did try every recipe.YUM I really liked the chicken pomodoro in Vodka sauce, the risotto, and the tiramisu. I tried the pomodoro but with shark and it was good too.

nope never took that class. Kira was too small, and Flounders was too expensive.

Boy, I wish I could find shark here. (in a meat case not while I'm swimming). We made the shark capital again and I can't get shark to eat ----go figure
