Ok, so they stole our thread, or thread-napped it, or did something with it. I don't think we had anywhere close to 10,000 posts but maybe we overloaded it with too many pictures. Anyway, I PMed Moderator Mark and he told me he didn't know where it is and to start a new thread. I hope it comes back soon, there is a lot of history there!!!!

It is beautiful here today, the sun is shining and the snow is melting!!!! I need to wash my van but the lines at the carwash are insane. Tomorrow it's supposed to be close to 50!

I'm on the wrong computer for posting pictures again. Anyone else going to the virtual DCL houseparty tonight? I'm going to try to pop in, hope to see you there!

Thanks for checking thinks out, Staci. Sorry we lost our thread:confused3

I guess our thread was too long for the Dis

Hi Stacie, Sharon, and Melissa.

Thanks Stacie for starting a new thread. We hope to go to a virtual party, but cannot seem to get the chat function to work. Can you help us? We want to win a cruise!!

Melissa, that wedding date is getting closer. Do you have butterflies yet? I cannot wait to hear all about it.

I'm at my parents' computer, so no photos to post. I probably won't get to post until Monday. I do hope our old thread can be found if only for us to read and remember.

My dad is having surgery on Tuesday to remove his prostate. They found cancer at his last routine appt. I'm really nervous about the surgery b/c of his heart and blood pressure. Any prayers and pixiedust: will be greatly appreciated.

Butterflies no. Completely crazy yes. I'm not usually an overly emotional person. The past 3 days I've had at least one huge crying freakout though...
This is so weird for me & its over the stupidiest things. (Before you ask...no I know I'm not pregnant)

I hope your dad's surgery goes well. He'll be in my thoughts that day.

Susan - Your family is in our thoughts and prayer. Almost 2 years ago my dad was diangnosed with bladder cancer. They caught it to late to do anything other than remove his bladder and his prostate. Turns out he also had a fast moving cancer in his prostate that can't be detected through tests. We saw is badder cancer as a blessing in disguise because the prostate cancer would have killed him. At 74 we were concerned about the surgery but he came through with flying colors and is doing great.

Keep us updated on your Dad and we will add him to our nightly "God Bless" list.

Patty

Thanks for starting a new thread for us. I went to post yesterday and couldn't find us. Did you end up going to Ottawa for the virutal cruise party?

It's beautiful here today with high near 50. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the upper 50's.

DH is going to take the power washer to the cars tomorrow and try to get the layers of grime off them. Hopefully it will stay nice for awhile.

Today Laura and I went to Villa St. Fransis, a local nursing home. The girl scouts from her school played bingo with the residents there giving out boxes of GS cookies as the prizes. Everyone seemed to have a good time.

Thanks for starting the new thread Stacie.
Sorry to hear about your dad Susan. We will keep him in our prayers.
I am in Kentucky right now. My grandmother that lives in Tennessee died on Tuesday night. My brother and I flew in on Tuesday trying to make it in time to say goodbye, but we didn't make it. Her funeral was yesterday and last night we drove up here to see our other grandmother. We will stay here until either tomorrow evening or Monday and then head back to Nashville. Our flight doesn't leave Nashville until Wed and it was going to cost way too much money to change it. So we are stuck together a few extra days.

Hang in there Melissa, you will make it. When is the date again?

Cristi and Susan--:grouphug: for you guys. We'll be thinking about you.

Patty--We aren't going to make it to KS this weekend, the party got postponed because of circumstances out of her control. It's rescheduled for next week but I don't think we'll make it then. We'll definately be in KC again soon though, it would be fun to go out, only if your DH can behave. Their is a policeman on our next cruise and I wanted to make a comment on the thread about no beer in the stroller but I think it's a had to be there kind of thing.

Melissa--Only one crying freakout thing, I'd say you're holding up pretty well.

Susan--I forgot to mention that on the IRD website I was telling you about there is a thread dedicated to sleeping issuses, there are a lot of sleep deprived moms that you'd be able to relate to. I really hope you guys figure something out.

I'm jealous! I can wait until its at 50 degrees here. I was happy today when it hit 30 this afternoon.

That sounds like fun with the nursing home.

Feb 8th. I leave on the 5th.

Thats good to know. Shaun thinks I'm crazy but he finds it funny.

Cristi ~:grouphug: I'm sorry about your grandmother. I'm sorry too that you didn't get there in time to say good-bye. I hope you have lots of wonderful memories.

Melissa ~ I'd say you're doing fine. The night of our rehearsal dinner, David and I got into a fight. I don't think we fought at all the whole time we dated. Just remember that no matter what happens, when the sun sets on 2/8, you will be happily married. :lovestruc

Stacie ~ I'll check out the website.

Thank you for your prayers and good wishes for my dad. I'm still a huge Daddy's girl, so this is really hard for me.

Good night everyone.

Thanks for the kind words. She lived in Knoxville, but was buried in Goodlettsville (close to Nashville). When everyone else got to Goodlettsville on Wed afternoon we all stayed in the same hotel and went to dinner together. It was really nice. We toasted her and had fun telling a bunch of stories.

It has been cold here. Only about 30, which I know isn't that cold, but I wasn't expecting it and it is a lot moister than Denver so it feels colder.

We are going to pick up my grandma in a couple of hours and take her to Walmart for some things. I think we have to drive to Princeton to go there. There isn't anything here. In the summer it is nice with the lakes and everything, but not much to do during the winter. :)

Cristi, & Susan, prayers for both of you. Sending you pixie dust Cristi, for your loss, & Susan that surgey goes well for your father

Let see if I can find a picture for this thread.

John's first meeting with Mickey Mouse.

Patty ~ I forgot to thank you about the story of your dad. I'm glad he's doing well.

Cristi ~ Did your family go with you or did you go alone? If I remember correctly, today is the day your daughter leaves for a week. I'm sure you'll miss her.

Melissa ~ it won't be long now. How are those emotions?

Hi Stacie and Sharon. :wave2:

Have a great Monday everyone.

Susan, my family stayed home. It was too expensive and I didn't feel I could take the kids out of school again. Brad wouldn't have been able to get off anyway. My parents were almost out here when they got the news of her heart attack (my great uncle died last weekend and they were driving out for the funeral). I am glad they were so close so that mom made it back to see her before she passed. My brother's flight from Albuquerque had a layover in Denver and I got on the same flight with him to go to Nashville. So, we fly back together on Wed. We have been sharing a hotel room since we have been here and it has been a LONG time since we have spent this much time together. :)

Rachel did leave this morning for her camp. I have talked to them almost everyday since I left. It sounds like she had everything packed and ready to go since Friday. :) Just like her great grandma. :) I managed to get a quick call into her this morning before they left the house. She said she was so excited that she hardly slept last night.

My brother and I are leaving Ky this afternoon and driving back to the Nashville area. We are going to stay with my great aunt tonight and tomorrow night so I probably won't be back on the computer before we leave. I don't know if she has one or not.

Brrrrrr..... it's cold here. Sunday it was in the 60's, in the 50's yesterday and even 50 first thing this morning. Then the temp fell through the floor. It was 50 at 5:30 this morning when I left the house, and by 7:30 when DH took DD to school it was only 30 and by the time I got off work at 2:30 it was 12. We also got about an inch of snow. Hopefully Phil won't see his shadow on Saturday so that spring will be just around the corner. That is if you belive in a rodent. Here's to an early spring.

Christi sorry to hear about you grandmother. :grouphug: A big group hug from us to you and your family.

Here's a picture of a warmer time, Rachel and Laura in the Mickey pool on Sat. before lifeboat drill

Susan--Hope things went well yesterday for your dad.

Cristi--Did you get home or are you stranded because of the weather?

Iowa is back in the deep freeze too, it tried to snow but the 40mph winds just blew it to the next county.

Hi everyone. Thanks for your thoughts, prayers, and pixie dust. My dad is doing well. Preliminary results say all the cancer was contained in the prostate and is gone. He's feeling a little dizzy, but otherwise is doing well. He's hoping to go home tomorrow.

I took Rachel and John to see him today. The hospital has a nice sun room on the oncology unit. We went there so John could crawl around. He crawled under a table, found a potato chip crumb and an outlet. He promptly pick up the chip and tried to put it in the outlet. What on earth possesses a child to do such a thing??

Rachel had an injury at school today. It was during organized PE, not recess. She hit her head on a tunnel. She has a nice lump and a bruise.

Patty ~ I love that picture by the Mickey pool. I remember you trying to get their attention to take that picture. I'd really like to be by the Mickey pool now.

I'll post some pictures tomorrow. John is resisting bedtime and calling for mommy.

Susan

Glad to hear that your Dad is doing well. My Dad's was contained to his prostate and bladder. The biopsies of the lymph nodes came back clear so he did not have to do chemo or radiation. It's been 1 1/2 years and he's doing great. Right now he and Mom are on a cruise to the Mexican Riviara with another couple.

Here's anothe cute Mickey Mouse Pool picture this time of Laura and Hannah.

Hello everyone,
