Looking to see if anyone is sailing with me on December 15, 2005 ...

Hi, me, my wife my son and daughter will be on the 15th of December cruise.
We're flying from the UK on the Monday and joining the Wonder on the Thursday.

David

Hi David!

I was beginning to think I was the only one sailing, LOL! How old are your kids? My grandson will be 10 and my grandaughter 9 when we sail.

And are you going to WDW before or after the cruise or both? I imagine that if you're traveling from the UK you'll be staying for a bit.

I booked a land/sea ... we'll fly in on Saturday and stay at Pop Century Saturday night, then switch to the Poly on Sunday.

Cheryl

Hi Cheryl

My son will be 13 and my daughter will be 5.

We were on the Wonder in February and they LOVED every minute of it.

We will be staying in the Beach Club before and after and this is the first Christmas we have ever been away from home.

As we have already been to the States for 3 weeks this year we will only be staying for 15 days this time.

Best wishes

David

Count us in...our very first cruise :teeth: Somewhat apprehensive, but can't wait (125 days, but who's counting?). My older sons are unable to attend, but I and my DH & DS (12) will be on board.

Hi Stitches, we're almost neighbors. We enjoy visiting Geauga Lake Park, stay @ the Bertram. Trying to decide whether to sneak in another trip this year. Haven't been to the park since they changed it over from Six Flaggs, what do you think of it now, is it worth it?

Hi Keishashadow! :wave2:

Our first cruise too! Like you, I am a bit apprehensive because it's a new thing. But mostly just excited. With summer coming to an end, I'm glad to have this to look forward to!
Regarding Geauga Lake, there is one BIG change that happened. They got rid of the animal side of the park. You probably know that it had once been Sea World, then Six Flags bought it. At that point it went downhill, IMO, but it was still something we really enjoyed. The park is now owned by Cedar Fair which also operates Cedar Point. They said they didn't have the necessary expertise to maintain the animal side, so they closed it down. This year they moved and expanded their water park over to where the animals used to be. Of course they always had a water park, but now it is much bigger with more attractions. So if you like water parks, come on over. (Except do it in the next few weeks or I believe the water park side will be shut down for the season.) Personally, I just really miss Sea World. I felt it was something very special. Ah well, what can you do.
How did you like the Bertram? It looks very nice from the outside and we have gone to their Easter buffet, but I wondered what it was like to stay there.

Hi Stitches - we were disappointed that the animals were moved, especially the dolphins & penguins. I especially enjoyed the large flock of flamingos they had, sort of reminded me of WDW ;) . We just got back from Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, that was also a bit of a letdown - long lines w/o FP, cranky CM's. Funny how I compare all parks to WDW now.

The Betram is a jewel, a true first class deluxe hotel. We were so surprised to find such a well-appointed hotel practically next to the park. It's more of a sophisticated, urban hotel; but we've always been treated royally. You're lucky to live in such a nice area. See you on the cruise, 116 days & counting.

Family & Friends, all (physically) adults, party of 6 here! :)

Also our first cruise. There is another 2 threads on this board of others who will be on board as well! :)

Hi Everyone we will be joining you on the 15th of December for our first Disney Cruise. Our party consists of myself, my husband, our 5 year old daughter, my parents, and my brother. David - maybe we can hook up our 5 year olds at the Beach club before the cruise! Looking forward to meeting all of you on the Ship! princess:

Hi Dawn,

Welcome to the DIS Boards! It's nice to see that Disney has booked some more cabins. ;)

Hi everyone! My husband & I just booked this 3 day cruise on the Wonder (well, he doesn't know I've actually booked it).

We just returned from the 9/8 Wonder (because of Ophelia we had to embark at Port Everglades). Well, it was our 1st Disney cruise, and we had a fabulous time!

We're going to spend 4 days at WDW prior at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We haven't been to WDW since 2001 so we're really excited! We thought the middle of December would be a perfect time to go.

I look forward to chatting with over the next few months - it will help make the time fly!

I can't believe that with less than three months to go, so few people are going on this cruise. It's going to be VERY quiet. :grouphug:

Can't wait!! :cool1:

I'm ready now! Was able to book all the excursions/times we wanted-can't wait.

Got a few "flies in the ointment":

**My Mom (not going on cruise, but who lives w/me in MIL apart. attached to my home, found out 2 weeks ago that "...her knees & hips are shot & she probably needs surgery" not until January, if ever, I hope) and

**My DS has been in a removeable cast for the month for a foot Fx. Thought we were ok, but it's not healing properly. Now treating w/new childrens' specialist who said we might want to consider cancelling our trip.

But, we're gambling kind of folks and plan on making the boat:banana: See you on board!

This will be our first cruise/WDW trip. Traveling with 9 year old boy/girl twins, and 17 year old . Anyone have any must see excursions for Nassau or Castaway Cay? Can't wait! :earboy2:

Stacy

We never did any excursions on our first cruise as there was so much to take in on board. We just went for a walk around Nassau and went back to the ship. It was fairly quiet on board so we had plenty of opportunity to have a look around.

David

So far, so good, we're still on!

Tried to book a Surial Sauna, etc...not much left...must be others going to be onboard! LOL
Who, knows - maybe we'll all get upgraded.:wizard:
