12 & 13yo.... let them roam alone?

My boys are 12 and 13. I have no problem letting them go off on their own. In fact this year I told them they can sleep in and meet us at the parks later. I'm a rope drop person, and they like to sleep in. They have cell phones and can contact us if needed.

This might also be a good time to use a "friend finding" app. That way you could easily check up on their location to ease your mind! We use a great free one that is useful in many situations and I think this would be one!
