Anyone been to Disney around this time? I am thinking of switching to this week, wondering what kind of crowds to expect.

I was there at that exact time in Dec. '04 and crowds were incredibly low! We got on every ride many times and never used fast pass once. We must have rode TOT 3 times, RnR 4 times and everything else we wanted to see. For me, the weather was a little chilly. Of course, I'm from NY and when I leave in December for Florida I expect a little warmth! But having said that, the weather was sunny and pleasant with no rain and the crowds were ideal.

We were there from 12/14 to 12/20 in 2005 and were able to throw any plans out the window because the crowds were so low. It absolutely spoiled our group to the point that no one wants to go during any other time.

Go and have a BLAST!!

Was ther 12/13-12/20/05 Crowds were pretty reasonable, up until the 18th we got a seat on every bus, and the ride waits were non-existant. The morning of the 19th we woke up, and is was as if the place had been invaded. :p The line for the buses were so crazy that we got in our car and drove to the park. Everything was crowded those last two days.

In 2004 we were at Disney about the same dates. Crowds were very low. All rides were walk on. No problem with restaurant walk-ins.

The one thing I really remember is how cold and windy it was. Nights were very cold. Hat, gloves and I always wore 2 coats my leather and my winter coat. During the day it was warmer only wore my leather.

As cold as it was it never slowed us down. If anything we did more. You never got that hot, humid, fatigue feeling that you get during the hot weather. The only thing we did avoid were the rides that might get you wet.

We were at WDW from 12-13/12-21 in'05. The begining of the week was great very low crowds but by friday there was a big change. Also, even during the middle of the week resturants were very crowded many turned away w/o adrs. This may be because of MVMCP and CP. The weather was nice being from Wisconsin but it was even a little cool for us. :sunny: We only swam one day. None of this really matters thou because we were in WDW and having a great time. :cheer2:

We were there last December '05 from 12/17 thru 12/26 and found that the crowds were very light but we did notice an increase in attendance starting on 12/24, which was a Saturday last year. Never more than 20 minute wait for the major attractions. But mostly just walk ons.

The week before Christmas is a great time to go because the Special Christmas events, shows and parade, which are normally only shown during the MVMCP, are done during normal park hours.

Thanks for all of the info everyone. I think we are going to make the switch to mid December. We are also into Christmas so I think we will have a great time going close to the Holidays.
