12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

yes - we won't be telling DD's - don't want to ruin any magic. Since my sister is single I told her she should think abou the cruises as well!

DU - said the group bookings were full and that they sent me the info last week and they still have one slot that the deposit is due today but I told my AAA agent to go ahead and book - we do get a $150 shipboard credit with them so that isn't too bad. It is hard to get into it now - but I LOVE that it is going to CC twice! :) So it looks like we will have a few DIS'ers from this thread going as well...I have to join the other thread as well!

Too hard for me to get into the '06 cruise now too - almost like a distarction to the one that comes first! Looks like we will be having a bit of an '05 reunion on that one - the more the merrier!

Pretty cool about your sister being Minnie Lilly. Sometimes I think I ought to leave OH for Florida - maybe when I retire from this job I can move there and work at WDW.

John

Hey John!
Yes - December 06 does seem sooo far away! My sis has to go to Disney Traditions training tomorrow...I can't wait to hear all about it!

Oh yes - and it is a "secret" - any costumed character is not supposed to risk ruining the magic.....oops!

Hi everyone! I'm home. It was weird being away without the kids or Brad for three days. I needed to help my grandmother get back to Kentucky from her visit out here. She was very appreciative of the help. She was afraid that she couldn't do it by herself. I did get my catfish while I was there. It wasn't as good as last time though :guilty: . The homegrown tomatoes were to die for though!!!! I just couldn't get enough of them. I even brought a couple home. :goodvibes

Vanessa, that is cool about your sister. I used to work at Chuck E. Cheese's years ago and had to dress up as Chuck E. quite a bit. I didn't like it very much, but Minnie is a WAY cooler mouse that Chuck E ever thought about being. ::MinnieMo

Hi Everyone! I'm here to visit! I just got through 2 pages of threads.

Lily - that's so cool your sister is Minnie. My neighbor's brother's girlfriend used to be Princess Aurora at Disneyland. If you went up to her and say "Hi Hillary, she is not allowed to acknowledge or reply to that name". Wow!

Everyone - it looks like I might have to cancel this cruise because the airfare JUST KEEPS GOING UP!! I should have bought them when they were 232 rt from LAX-MCO, now they are $688 on AA. Times four and it's the cost of our 7 day cruise! I have September 10 circled on my calendar as the day to cancel because I'm gonna keep on checking airfares.

Darci - our girls would have made good pen pals. My DD loves to write. We met a little girl Samantha from our last cruise (11/27/04) and they were friends for a while. We took Sam's "Flat Stanley" to DL and Minnie took a pic with Flat Stanley.

Lisa - I finally got my swap package. Are you done with your cruise album yet?

Quick question on the 2006 cruises that some of you are booked on...now wouldn't it be a better deal to book on board? I am curious as to which is the better deal. I tried to go thru DU for this cruise but their prices was not competitive at all. I was a little disappointed.

Too cool you are now related to Minnie! I hear most of the characters are women, since the costumes are so small. I tried out to be "Sharky" from the San Jose Sharks (hockey), way back in the 90's. I will never forget the smell of that costume head. Turned out there is this "mascot circuit" and the guy who got hired for Sharkie was the mascot for a Bay Area college, and the Warriors basketball team. Who knew you needed experience!

On another note: are any of your kids going to be bringing "Croc's" on the cruise? I guess they were originally designed for boating. I may buy DD the fake ones Payless makes, in the next size up so they will fit in Dec. They are all the rage here in Colorado.

Hey there Jen! Unless you get a group discount rate with a TA, you won't see a big difference between DCL & the TA's price. Shop around! There may be other TAs with group space for the 12/9/06 cruise. The most we would have saved by booking onboard was the 200 credit + 10% of the cruise fare not including taxes & port charges so around 300. Instead of 500, we saved 1000 by booking at a group rate. And no, I haven't even started my 2004 cruise scrapbook yet. :( I hope to be able to work on it one day each week at LEAST once school starts. The 2003 is almost done. I just have a few more captions to print up & then I want to figure out how to do the wire embellishments for a couple of pages. THEN I can start planning the 2004 one. :) I do have ideas for the 2005 one already...but then of course there is the trip to WDW in June. :( I'll never catch up!

what are croc's?

and are you ladies bringing two formal dresses or just one? and Lisa - how was last years weather? capri's and shorts?

I think that crocs are plastic shoes like jellies were only they are thicker and more expensive. None of us will be wearing them!

It was chilly on Saturday while we were in port but once we woke up Sunday morning it was warm & balmy all day. Shorts & capris were perfect. I wore sleeveless dresses for dinner & was very comfortable. I take a different dress for each night. I just got the ones that I ordered from fashionbug & can't decide which one to wear for semi & formal nights. I planned to use the black one but the sage green one turned out to be long and I am thinking that would look more formal...and better for one of those lifetouch photos that they are doing now.

We will all be wearing crocs!!! My girls love them and have ten pairs between the three of them. I have 2 and my husband just got a pair!!! They are so comfortable!! We wear ours all the time!! They are huge in Des Moines too!!!

Rachel will be wearing her Airwalks(Payless version of Croc, way cheaper). I won't be wearing any. I did try a pair on since everyone kept talking about how comfortable they were. I didn't thing they were comfortable at all. :confused3

They just seemed really wide on my foot. Rachel loves hers though and my mom loves hers too. Just not for me. I will stick with my sandles. :flower:

I have ton's of questions!!

What night is everyone going to Palo?

Most men are wearing tuxes right? DH likes to dress up as well...not sure if we will rent one or not...have to look around.

Is anyone linked to dine with others from our group?
Those who are looking for early dining..would it help your cause to link up with those who already have early dining?

With the new online reservations do you all still plan to be on the ship early? We were among the first onboard last time and even though we had to go to Vista and Flounders...I loved being early.

I also can't remember...we got on the ship last time, raced around to sign up for things and then hit the pool, I can't remember for the life of me about towels, are they avail at the pool? I must have had one too many of those departure drinks!

First of all, my DH will NOT be wearing a tux. He will wear a dark suit & tie on formal & semi formal nights. If we were going to Palo, he would wear it then too. We went to Palo for the first time last cruise for both brunch & dinner. While dinner was wonderful, we couldn't help but feel that we were missing out on something. We chose WWTBAM night since that show doesn't really hold any of our interests like the character shows. John & Amy kept DD for us. We took her to dinner and found their DD asleep at the table. LOL! We found them up on deck 9 dancing after we finished. DS enjoyed the club while we were there. We are planning to just book brunch this cruise. I also want to know what our rotation is before we book Palo to make sure that we don't miss the first night in AP...with the light show.

Our family is linked with John's. We are on the 10 am Radison shuttle. I hope to be able to walk around the terminal & take some pictures and see the map on the floor. The past two cruises DH has walked around with the kids while I have kept our spot in line. It's his turn to wait in line. ;) If we don't get switched to early dining my first stop will be at dining changes when we board the ship. After enjoying lunch in PC we will also head up to the pool! There are wooden cabinets filled with towels around the pools. :)

RELAX LILLY!!!!!! This is a vacation. ;)

DH will be wearing a tux (DS too!). I found a really pretty formal dress last year after Christmas at a clearance and bought it for myself. I found a really pretty formal dress for Rachel on line. I thought it would be great for us to all be dressed up for some nice picures. Even if DH wasn't wearing a tux we would have to get him a new suit. The only one he has now is about 14 years old, it doesn't quite fit as well as it used too ;) . We are going to rent his tux so it will be onboard, but I think I am going to buy DS tux. I have seen some on Ebay for as little as $25.

We aren't linked with anyone for dining. I would like to have other people at our table though.

I don't know which night to do Palo's yet. I really need to figure that out.

I plan on being on the ship early. Last time we used Disney transfers and didn't get to the ship until around 2pm. We didn't get a chance to look around the terminal at all.

Lilly, did you get your tickets for MVMCP yet? Mine came in the mail last week, we are going on the 9th. IF you are going then, maybe we could meet up then.

Haven't been around in awhile. Can't believe the cruise is less than 4 months away. I will probably be wearing my black suit...it cost me a load of cash and want to get more mileage out of it before I gain any more weight...(in fact, i should probably try it on...yikes).

Again, we will be at WDW for a week before the cruise. My cousins are DVC members and we will be staying at Saratoga Springs Resort for the first time. My cousin and my relatives will be going to the Candlelight Procession on Thursday, 12/8. Jesus will be the guest narrator...Jim Caviezal....

Lisa, I will try and get my cousin to email you her info.....there are 8 people in her party in three separate staterooms.....

Cristi!! Feels great doesn't it!! I paid mine off last week and I've been freaking out because on the DCL site it still shows booked not paid but I asked that question on the DCL forum and most everyone who responded said theirs said booked the entire time. I was concerned simply for making the reservations...now to make sure they do indeed have our CC #'s! You are going to MVMCP on the 9th right? Where are you eating beforehand?

Lisa - I'll be relaxed by the time the cruise comes...I tend to plan plan plan!
