12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

Just wanted to make sure that everyone knows about the costume sale for girls at disneydirect.com. The boy's costumes are working with the 20% off but are getting the $10 off. Anyhow, costumes10 takes $10 off every costume in your cart. The sale says that if you buy a costume & 2 accessories you will receive an additional 20% off. Well, it also works with 3 costumes. They end up being 17.60 each. :) There was another $10 code that was working but it has been taken down. :(

I'm still scared about the early dining!@

V, how many people are linked with your reservation for dining. We have 7 and are on late but WL for early. Maybe if we go to dining changes together they would let us switch if we are still late when we get there?

I am scheduled for the late dinner, but I'm really not sure....which time is best? You guys are the experienced ones....what do you think?
Thanks

We did early dining last cruise and I really didn't like eating that early. We are going to try late dining this time. We are in the Mountain time zone though so it will be eating at more like a normal time for us.

I don't have anyone linked to my dining - that I know of??

and thanks for the costume deals - I ended up getting 3! But for $17.60 that is cheaper than the ones at Wal-mart.

We have sailed 6 times. 5 with late seating. The last cruise (10 day in Dec) we were early. We felt rushed at the end of the day to get to dinner, but that's just us. We go to the early shows which are just a half hour later than the early dining and don't feel rushed to get there, so go figure! :confused3 Maybe we just need that extra half hour. We will be doing late seating from here on out.

For those of you who do late seating, Amy and I have these impressions - let me know if they are correct or wrong (we've never dined late):

1. Many more west coast people on late dining - closer to their internal clocks?

2. Many more Europeans on late dining- closer to a continental dinner time?

3. Less kids on late dining?

For us, it has just always been tough to eat late with kids - dinner is the worst time for bad behavior when tired and cranky. If they are well fed, they can always nap through the show!

All that being said, some people just prefer the late dining, and if we don't get switched, I guess we'll really get to see what it is like.

John

I am really hoping that we never know what having late dining is like, John. If we do get stuck with it this trip, it will be the last time. :)

Late dining was great for us last year...DD was 18 months and she came to one dinner (on a 3 nighter)...there was a 5 year old at our table - there were other children but I couldn't compare it to the main seating time as I never was in there.
6 seems so early to me but I know DD's need to eat before 8:30 and I would like to be able to enjoy a few family meals together without them in the clubs....and I felt like we were missing out on certain things offered at night...they seemed to start while we were eating....like movies, bingo, etc....can;t they offer a 7?? Just kidding!!

Lisa - I am not sure if you mentioned this before...but once you board are you going to also see what DCL will quote you for next years cruise?
I broached the subject to DH last night and he didn't seem to bite...but then he was watching a baseball game. I have requested quotes from DU and also looked on DCL's website....I love the fact it goes to CC twice! That place is my favorite!

No, I really don't think that they will be able to beat the price, unless it goes down with DCL. The price will only go up. I like seeing how much we saved off the current price. ;)

Yes - I just looked on DCL for a cat 12 was like 2600 or 2800...I am waiting on quotes back from DU...I really really would like to go ahead and book this. :)

I have to show off my girls!

and - good news...we are going to Disney for the weekend!! Staying at All Star Music. DH has a ballgame Saturday and I thought the girls and I could go to MK or AK for the day while he plays ball!! :)

Those pictures are so cute!

Everyone have a great weekend! I am leaving in the morning to fly home with my grandmother to Kentucky. She has been out her for a couple of weeks now. My dad flew out here with her and I am taking her home since she doesn't like to fly alone. Won't be back until Monday evening. I am hoping for some good catfish while I am there!

BEAUTIFUL pictures!!! :) Email me the file so that I can update the website.

Cute Pictures Lilly! You and your DH must be very proud.

Hi all - back from WDW, had a blast - was sooo hot but very managable. I have great news...my dear sister got hired as Minnie! She is devasted as she will be fur and not a face. She took the job but will be auditioning for a face character sometime this week - or maybe the 19th? She thinks her destiny is to be Alice.

I must say, I am a tad jealous. I have been wanting to work for WDW for quite a while but live just too far away...especially for what they pay the characters. But my sister had NO interest in Disney what so ever until recently...oh well....both of us have danced in parades there and been in special Disney shows - I went to a performing arts high school and my first major in college was dance...so I would love to perform there somewhere but would now settle for a financial analyst of some sort. So I am happy for her just jealous that it isn't me...

Lisa and John - it looks as though we will be seeing you on the 06 cruise as well. I am paying my deposit today. I was waiting to hear back from DU...I emailed them again this morning as was told they sent me info that a deposit was due on the 12th but now that whole cruise was booked? Which makes NO sense as I called DU Friday and it was then I was told Kelsie was working on my quotes..............
I emailed her back disappointed since I have not heard from KELSIE til this morning. I have it with AAA now but had wanted to see if DU would come in any cheaper. Oh well...at least we will be going!

Darci & Mrs. Mork are on that cruise too. :) I can't get into that one yet though. Too much going on right now & this one comes first. :) :) :) You wouldn't have gotten a cheaper rate with DU since we booked the last of the group rate rooms last month. There is a 75 rebate but I think that you did great with AAA this time. The ship isn't full. I check the site for deck 7 10s to open up & there is availability in most categories now.

Congrats to your sister!!! That is so cool!!! :) She is going to make SO many kids smile. Can she do the shows too? That is one family picture that you will HAVE to get. Of course the girls wont be able to hear the story behind it for a long time...but that would be so neat! :)
