12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

Cindy's prince? Is that a Barbie size one?

I have quite a few things wrapped already, I just need the tree to put them under! For now they are on my cleared off dining room table!

LOL! Yes, it is the Disney barbie Mr. Charming. Everyone has been out of them since September around here...well, we only have WM & TGT so not many options.

ahhhh...party over...it was fun...Chuck e cheese was nice and empty as I had hoped! They had a great time! Now I have to start repacking and cutting down....There are only 3 of us and unfortunately Jonny won't be much help! I can't believe they only give us 50lbs per bag.....this is going to be tough!
We are leaving early in the morning, so if I don't get back on here.....SEE YA SOON!!!!! :Pinkbounc

Wow we have so much to do. We have my son's birthday and party to do tonight and tomorrow. Then Saturday for some stupid reason we scheduled a Christmas party at our house! Ugh, lot to do to get ready for that both to the house and in making food.

Then there is the endless list of items we keep remembering we need to do before we leave for the cruise, or stuff to purchase for the cruise. Add in Christmas presents to purchase and wrap and another WoW! :earseek:

But one way or another, it will all get done and we will be sipping drinks at sea before we know it. I just hope the cruise week doesn't pass to quickly. Thats always depressing when you have to disembark and it feels like you just got on the boat!

Most airlines have a 50 lb limit per bag or you are charged extra. If you aren't flying, you do not need to worry about it. :)

Sorry, Donna! I got you guys mixed up. :) With three of you aren't you allowed 2 bags checked per person?

I thought the airlines allowed 70lbs. I flew (albeit internationally) in October '05 and they allowed 70lbs. I know this because one of my bags weighed 74lbs the first time i packed it. I re-packed it to 67lbs and the airline took it.

But things change.

It is 50 on most domestic now and they are strict and will charge you $$$$ :earseek: if you are over. Real pain when you need shoes, pirate gear, snorkle gear, etc.

I think I read on one thread that there is one airline that still allows 70 lbs. I don't know which one it is though. I do know it isn't Frontier.

American allowed 70 lbs. But with you all are saying, i would call in advance.

Fotunately I am driving! :moped:

I can't believe I leave in 4 days, not counting today. Like Angie, I am meeting with people at WDW. On Friday the 9th, I am meeting some old friends. They moved from Atlanta to Amelia Island near Jacksonville. They are going to Miami and will stop at WDW to see me. I haven't seen them in 18 yrs..........

If you are like me, Jordan, you will be surprised at how much they have aged in 18 years and yet you have not! :rotfl: :teeth:

I am about 35 lbs heavier, but I did weigh about 130 18 years ago. I was a stick

Randy & Renee? You saw them in 1991 with me...? 'Twas not 18 years... but only a mere 14? Whoa, was that 14 years ago??? Wow, we are getting old.

I worried about that limit of weight on bags last year when the airlines were said to be getting strict, but Airtran has never given us a problem. Our one bag I am betting weighs more than 70 when packed - it always has a tag on it every time we fly that says "heavy" - I thought put on by the airline to protect their baggage handlers from injury! :)

Cristi - Frontier just started flying out of Akron-Canton, and we said if we need to fly West, we would probably use them. How are they as an airline? The owner of our company's wife's brother is some big wig with them.

Amy and I were just talking last night about how even though the timing of this cruise seems crazy because of the holidays - it is actually better for us. It forces us to get some things done, and then just at the time when we think the holidays are driving us crazy, we get to go on a beautiful ship, with wonderful friends, and enjoy warm weather. No phone calls from work. No phone calls from my MIL. No parents with school board issues.

Hopefully, after that, we can come home and really enjoy the holidays, and we are both on vacation the week between Christmas and New Year's to recover.

Sophia was driving us crazy tonight with question after question about when we leave, where we are staying, how far to the ship, what kind of rental car are we getting, and on, and on, and on! She is as excited as we are.

John

I agree that planning the cruise now is good for getting what we can done then relaxing when we get home. The only thing for us is that we will be driving back ALL day Monday and the kids have two more days of school before school gets out for Christmas. I will have one class party to do on Tuesday and one on Wednesday. I am taking all of the stockings in tomorrow so that they teachers can put them up in the room. The kids will decorate their stocking that Monday and then they will be filled with the goodies from the party. :) I am guessing that we will be a little late on Tuesday, so I am going to plan the party for that afternoon after lunch. ;)
