Welcome aboard! Do you have family you are traveling with? I am traveling with my DH, DD 14y, & DSIL. We have late dining also. Glad you found us. Like Angie says we do have a great group of people.

I guess it's a good time for a roll call

I will be sailing with my grandmother, this trip is becoming an annual tradition... this being the 3rd year we go on the Eastern together...

So it will be myself (27F) sailing with my Grandmother (27+ )

We have 2nd seating, and are booked in a CAT 5 GTY, which is what we sailed in last year, and absolutely loved. I like Deck 7, cause it's so easy to run up for cookies and ice cream, and then go back and relax on the verandah.

Last december it was VERY chilly when we sailed out, but once we got to St. Marteen it was nice and warm, and we did the Orient Beach excursion in St. Marteen, and then did the Trunk Bay excursion when we got to St. Thomas.

I am really looking forward to the new show, as well as some of the dry dock enhancements. I also love the crew on the Magic. I sail the Wonder a lot more often, but the Magic crew is the best! I can't wait. We are hoping to get waitlisted of the Palo brunch. I don't see any availability online, since I booked so late in the game, but in 10+ DCL sailings, I have never had a Palo ressie, and have always gotten to eat there once or twice!

So who else is sailing? Anyone sailed before??

The door magnets are as John and Angie have described. The only way I knew about them was to see a thread on them in the Cruise Line Forum. You can do a search of the forum with the keywords Door Magnets and it should pull up a few threads. One of the threads has lots of pics.

Not sure if I will do them or not. If I do, it will only be for the benefit of the other folks on this thread. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't be prone to do something as flashy as that...We Japanese-Americans are a little shy.....................

Welcome to the new folks on this thread. My suggestion is to get in touch with Lisa (lbgraves) and get your info to her. She will then give you our official website address and then you will get to see most of the folks we are travelling with. If you look a few (maybe 5-6 pages back or more) pages, her email address etc is posted for you to send pertinent info to...

Ok - our community is preparing for "lockdown" on Sunday...I am hoping and praying the storm turns away from us. It looks to hit Naples, south of us right now but we would still get strong enough effects that I would not want us to be here. We leave for WDW on Wednesday....I guess as long as our house is still standing.

Ducks lost AGAIN 3-2. At least it was to the Red Wings and it wasn't a blowout....I have to take what good I can. I'm a Ducks, Niners, Dodgers fan. None of my teams have been performing well, but I'm a diehard.

Vanessa, one of my best friends went to FSU. As a result, I root for the Seminoles. I hated Spurrier. But hey, at least we can both hate the Canes.

Yes I did go to UF, class of 2001! I was there for the 1996 Championship season, and also for the Gator's first appearance in the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship.


I'm in Orlando, and we too are watching this storm... I will keep you in my thoughts, and hope Wilma weakens and spares you.

This cruise can't come soon enough, right??

Thank you for the magnet pic. You have given me some ideas. Your magnet looks fabulous. I guess this weekend I will need to purchase the magnet sheet. I did not realize how elaborate these door magnets are to look. WOW! This is something I will enjoy doing.

Jordan I am taking you up on your advice & I'm going to do Door Magnet search.

I was watching the news about Wilma hitting Cancun, Mexico. Looks like Florida is getting prepared. Key West looked well boarded up & people were evacuating. Better safe than sorry. Lisa how far north of Napels are you? I have been thinking of you & your family. Have you taken all the precautions?
I pray the storm will head further south & miss Florida all together. Diana

Thank you I found it! It has given me a bounch of ideas. I think I will go to Home depot for the Mickey head paint chips. I understand the color lime green is what to get because that is the disboard color.

Have you made these signs before? humm.......I wonder if my SIL knows. I give her a call tomorrow.

Another question.

There was somewhere about pillow cases and some sort of pen to give to guest services to get the character ect signatures. What sort of pen is it that you use cos I did not recognise the name.

Kristy, you can use just a regular permanent marker. Someone mentioned a "laundry pen" on the boards once. I don't know what that is, but just permanent markers work fine. Just put the pillowcase in a large plastic baggie along with the marker/markers. Take it to guest services and you can then pick it up there on the last evening of the cruise. A zip lock gallon baggie works great. Be sure to include you stateroom and name with it.

I have not heard of taking a pillow case to guest services. Does it have to be a pillow case? Can I just send an autograph book? Do they get all the characters to sign? This is something I would like to add to my scrapbook.

Well, she is moving a 2 mph!! and has weakened to a category 2 at the moment. Once she hits the Gulf I am anxious to see what happens....usually where the weather casters say the storm is going to hit this far in advance ends up being "safe" - Naples is pretty close to us. And the really crappy thing...where Charley devastated, Port Charlotte area...close to us as well - is NOT built back up yet....!! and there is a "village" of mobile homes housing most of the community! Scary to think about.

I am keeping tabs on her...we may not work Monday. I work for the hospital and it goes in to lockdown mode at a certain point. The one great thing about out community is that we started preparing early last week....

oh - Jordan - you won't be alone watching football on the cruise...I am sure DH (and maybe me too) will join you....oh yeah - Tampa Bay won last night! How's that for hockey in FL!! (I know, one game!!).



It is probably a GREAT thing we are going to Disney on Wednesday.....our home is without power at any tropical storm we have had and the last time was 5 days.

So I am trying to clean house, watch the game, DIS and worry about Wilma all at once!!

Thanks for the update...I am watching the Weather Channel right now...but it is good to have someone who is living in the area to give us all more accurate info.

Let's hope that it stays away from heavily populated areas...
