Now I can sleep peacefully tonight - I was really tired all day today. Family fun day at school, took DW to a store so she could shop (I watched the first two heroes on my iPod in the car :thumbsup2 - which made shopping soooo much easier) then we ate at Olive Garden.
Too funny - is that another list item - watch iPod while spouse shops?

The map is in full colour, eek. I am printing 50 copies one for each DIS member on the manifest. And I have permission to print them on the colour laser at work, woo hoo. It is the ship deck plans for room floors only and a list with each dismember and their room #, It can be crossed off and new number added.

Pj
You guys have been busy!

V already asked who was in the water and I thought that would be me not caught up and feeling like I am drowning doing everything I don't want to do instead of catching up with the thread. :lmao: Anyway - hey where's good ol' MA?

Okay, I was supposed to leave my house at 9A to get there by 10A.
Gotta run.

Lisa,

You are a wonderful person with the best spirit and kind, caring heart. You lead by example and are an engaged parent and that's something your children see as well. I'm sure it will work out with DD.

I must admit to reading your post thinking phew what is the moon because DD took the most incredible melt down last night going to dinner because we told her she needed to put her jacket on. You would think we were beating her or something. Then she didn't want to walk with me because "Mumma doesn't like me" "She doesn't let me do anything" Okay then....

I do always say kids are little animals when they can't "use their words" they revert to what works to get the point across and we stand helpless trying to decifer the coded meaning. Good luck with the little boy in DD's class. My friend taught pre-K and now is in K/1 and she said the dynamic of a whole class can change with the behavior of one. Perhaps DD's teacher can give insight.

Hang in there!! :grouphug:

Ok, here is a deal, if you make a port upgrade you need to let as many of us know, so that we can make the changes on the ship map/manifest and pass on the information at the Goofy pool meet, THANKS!

If you get an upgrade from Disney please let me know as soon as possible, I will hold of printing the terminal edition of the newsletter until the last possible day, Friday December 1st.

Pj

You sound panicked PJ!! All will be good. :thumbsup2 It may change dramatically by the time we sail. Hopefully those with GTY will start getting their assignments, then we will see who got an upgrade! :cheer2: :cheer2:

IDK. Maybe everyone know to leave a message on my room VM with the new stateroom number & we can figure out a way to spread the word. Would a contact room for each deck work for everyone? I could lms on VMs for those rooms & they could post it on their door?

Wow, this group is getting big! Spreading out by deck!! Good idea!

For those of you who asked about DS Alex last night, this is a photo of him and his mom before his senior prom. It is over a year old, but the easiest picture I could find on this computer.

He basically looks the same, with about a year more maturity on him!

What happened to the midwest and Texas??? That is very interesting Becka!

It is interesting that the plains states are very underrepresented. We need to up our recruitment in those areas! ;) Can someone get a list of large libraries in the plains states with Internet access? We can send Charlotte on a recruitment tour! :lmao:

Well, now that I have caught up I guess that I should tell you about our day. I don't think that I will be able to get thru it without crying though. Woke up to the kids arguing...what's new? DS insisted that it was warm outside and refused to wear the sweat pants that I brought downstairs for him. It was 45 at the time. He opened the front door & with the sun shining down on him declared that it was warm enough...wouldn't listen to the fact that we were going to an open field with nothing to break the wind. Whatever...freeze your tush off then! We got there & within a minute he came over to me and said that I was right & he was cold. Lucky for him I put the pants in the van. OY! By the 4th quarter they were both taking the ls shirts off that were under their tshirts. DS scored a goal!!!! Seconds after the game reality hit & my day became a migraine.

DS & DD were talking with a friend while I talked to her mom getting the latest scoop on the AG teacher issue at school. One second DD was hugging their friend & the next DS is screaming and she has bitten his wrist breaking skin so that he was bleeding!!!! Yes, it was just a speck that was bleeding but STILL!!!! I excused us, grabbed DD by the wrist & marched her to the van. Crying kids on the way home....DS because his wrist hurt...with good reason...and DD because she wouldn't go to McD's for lunch as is our game day tradition. How I wish that this had been stuck to. :rolleyes1

This weekend is the biggest festival in town & we ALWAYS go to it. I brought the kid's change of clothes down & told DS to get into his right away so that he could go with daddy. The plan was I would be stuck at the house with DD while DS was treated to lunch out with daddy & an afternoon at the festival. She deserved to miss out on it. They both got in the van & then DH came back inside to get DD. OY! :sad2: I had to change quickly & we were off to lunch then downtown. The afternoon was pretty good considering that getting there that late we had to park a long way from the action & we don't keep the stroller in the car anymore. DH & I took turns carrying DD so she wouldn't get worn out before we got there. We watched the BMX tour show....which DS LOVED. I got some cool pics for him. A couple of their friends came over during the warm up & sat with us. We have known them since DS & the oldest were 2 in PS together. :) DH brought back a funnel cake and the four of them shared it....then their parents brought over a huge plate of butterfly chip fries which didn't last too long either. After that we went to the percussion petting zoo. This was a big tent with lots of percussion instruments set up on tables and the kids could do whatever they wanted. We stayed for the show & the kids both loved participating with the tambourines, bongo drums, and the maracas.

By this point it was time to head home. DD again got carried to the car so that didn't wear her out. We got thru dinner & DS going outside to play with his friends since he had been so good. You would THINK that DD would be happy that her sentence of spending the day inside the house had been changed to let her have a fun afternoon...wouldn't you? You would THINK that she would be on her best behavior....maybe? Well, you would be wrong. I was just signing onto the computer and loading the pictures from the game & festival today when she walked over to me. She said something that I didn't understand so I asked "What sweetheart?" The next thing I knew I had been slapped hard on the face with her finger poking me in the eye. DH was on her case in a second before I could even say anything & her butt was in her room. She went to bed early with no desert.

I am feeling like a total failure right now. Maybe some of this is PMS...sorry guys...but what have I done that has made my sweet little girl turn into this? We haven't let her hit DS without being punished. This is just so beyond that!!! Lately she has been extremely sassy and backtalking around DH & myself. NOTHING seems to work to stop it. Today she threw things across the room at DH .... I think that they were some small dinos that she was playing with.

On the otherhand, I can't help but wonder how much this kid in her class is affecting her. She has told me that he throws things in class and he hit a boy in the nose Friday which made his nose bleed. He can't be that respectful to anyone if he is doing this stuff along with picking up chairs. :confused3 Maybe this is really stressing her out more than I thought? She is whiney and fussy from the second she gets off the bus & has been for at least a week. She doesn't want to go to school. This morning before the game she was doing some silly walk and when I questioned her about it she said that this boy does that sometimes. Maybe she sees him doing this & doesn't see anything being done so she has decided that it is ok? IDK what to think. I don't want to push this off on someone else but at the same time I have to wonder how it could affect a child being in that situation. I am wondering if I should talk to the school counselor about this & see if she can talk to DD & help her. Then I have to wonder about how other kids in the class are reacting to this.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

If this is totally new (her extreme behavior), then I would guess that school would be at least part of the blame. She may see how much attention this boy is recieving and if she is hearing you talk and stress about it, he is also getting "attention" from you. The most you can do is stick to your guns with her at this point. Try to find positive attention to give her.

But also remember that she is the second child. She will already have some issues with attention, especially since William is so good. Just DO NOT HAVE ANOTHER!! ;) I know you are not planning to. Amanda is the drama queen and attention getter, but Dina also lashes out at her sisters at times. I think it is the whole younger sibling/attention thing. She is testing her limits with you, in a big way. Keep those limits firm and you WILL get through it!
