I seriously do not get the mile high club. First, my DD and I can barely fit in the restroom and seriously the seats are so close together is that really possible without public indecency?

Ok, Patsy. I guess she needs the other end of the spectrum too.

1) 1-2 in the car, depending on where I have to go and who is with me.

2) top 40 70's,80's and 90's

3) 6
Actually that sounds a lot like mine. I only listen to music in the car because talk is sooo boring. If only I could DIS and drive. Hmmmmm.

I've not been on the boards much for the last couple of weeks. We've had some family health problems.

My DFIL was in the hospital to have gall bladder surgery...the morning he was to have the surgery they tried to wake him, he was unresponsive. He had had a stroke. They say he would not have survived if he had not been in the hospital when it happened. The doctors are still only giving him a 50% chance of survival.

They've kept him sedated since the stroke, and we will not no how much damage was done until he wakes. Right now they are weening him off of the sedation so we should no more in the next few days.

My DMIL is not totally able to take care of herself and he has been her primary caregiver for a while. So we have her at our home, and are going back and forth between here and the Hospital in Mississippi a lot.

Needless to say...it has been a tough couple of weeks, but we are getting by. We could definitely use your prayers and good vibes.

you know there are always enough prayers to go around. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!

I almost forgot to tell everyone....when we go to Disney in June the HS marching band will be going the same week!!!! We are SO excited! I give private lessons to several of the kids. There is a girl from my church and my cousin are all in the band!

We were going anyway to celebrate my mom's 50th but this just makes it even better!

My DH and the kids and I will be going. My DM and DDad will be getting an adjoining room with us. My aunt Pam and her GF Carol and Carol's niece will be going. My Aunt Cheryl and her DH will be going (Her DD is the one in the band). Our (DH and I) good friends will be going with their DD's. I am so excited!!! It will be a great time!!!!
Brandi that sounds like a great time! :woohoo:

Night all!

airplane bathrooms used to be substantially larger - especially on international flights.

Can I just ask you all - is it unusual to have a school fundraiser, tshirt sale and school pictures all in the same month?

It's not even the money as much as the stress about getting all the paperwork filled out, checks written, paperwork returned etc.

sorry to vent.

Not here. It is all this month. They try to earn all the money for the year early on...

I agree about pics 2x per year - why?

the other parents look at me funny when I don't order the soccer pics. we seem to be the only ones who don't. the teams are formed from all 4 elementary schools and most of the kids we don't even know and will not see again.

we have to apparently pay for the pics sight unseen - is that possible?

ok, I guess I just have to suck it up about all this stuff and get with the program. I'll have to be a renegade about something else.

:) thanks John - I hate opening the backpack each night because a whole new batch of papers fall out. I think they should separate the schoolwork from the less important fundraiser info.

isn't the notion of school pictures, soccer pictures a bit outdated in the age of cell phones that take pictures. Who really needs a stiff picture of their child with a fake leaf background? or will the future fiance's be mad if I can't produce them?

duh - I think I am sounding jaded. BIG SMILE!!! :) :)

For the yearbook :)

I have to fill out a survey for our "strategic plan" for work. DH looked it over & told me I might want to scale back a little. We tried this a couple years ago and the staff was very honest about our boss and the agency. I don't think they will get the same response this time. A lot of the staff is hesitant to "put their neck out again". We are in a tough time as are all nonprofits. Our finances are not real good and we really need to get moving on finding ways to bring money in. I am not sure if this process will help turn us around or not. We get to meet with the board of directors and all staff on 10/26. should be a fun meeting.....not

Missy, I council non profits on financial stability. If there is anything I can do for you, send me a pm.

Kim, Thanks! We have almost enough to go on with. Question #3 is something like. Do you Love  listening to music (10). Or hate it? (0) It's an odd kind of question but I guess they need some kind of data for charting.

oh, she is a 10. She dances and sings to that ipod forever!

well, this is starting to be like groundhog day... I catch up and everyone goes to bed.

I got on the back on the treadmill again tonight. Boy am I out of shape. I walked and jogged 1.5 miles. When I was really active I could do 4 or 5 in the same amount of time. This is going to be tough...

Hello why would I want to buy a pic of my kid from school 1, after breakfast 2, after first rec. 3, without his hair combed 4, a cleaned face. Sorry my list could go on and on and on, not to mention the face smile or just plain stupid looking face they make. I was a photog. for a while and I was very picky about how the kids look. I wouldn't want something like that on my wall. Just picky about it. I always hated DD school pic and stopped buying them in about the 3rd grade.

I can't stand those fake outdoor smells of the detergents and even Bath ad Body works. it affects my allergies as well.

Caroline - I'm sure it was a boy who could not find the toilet paper right? and it sounds just like my junior mommy to be pointing out where it is.

too funny!!! :rotfl2:

OMG - I just read the bear story. wow. I hope you find some pain relief.

we came home from vacation to a large pile of bear "deposit" right next to the kids playground. we had to stop composting several years ago because they would come and tear up the composter several times in the same day.

I don't think a bear would actually attack the kids on the playset - but who really knows. we see them all the time in broad daylight. we have to put ammonia in our garbage when we put it out for collection.

Lisa - do you suggest that we wait to purchase our DIS gift item until an active count is established? I guess there is no way to find out if these DIS'ers paid for their cruise right?

I plan to order but don't want to come up short - I guess I will buy some extras.

awaiting your update - thanks!!!!

my mother would not allow us to drink coffee until we were 18. by then I was never really interested. I have been to Starbucks but never drank coffee.

V - Starbucks has really cute holiday stuff - not coffee related.

we only drank tea when we were sick and it was a long time before I went back to it - then I drank it by the buckets. actually I made a cup at the office and then it got cold and I would pour it out and make another. LOL.
kind of like a treadmill. ;)
