See now i didn't get the chance to be a GS growing up. (mom didn't want to have to take me or get uniform.)

Now that i see what i missed, i'm mad at dm for not signing me up. She always said it was a money issue but now i know that there's always scholarship money for girls who want to go to council activities.

The only pressure i ever felt was a mandatory calendar fundraiser imposed by one of her troops. (i had to sell $20 worth of calendars that were given to us but i had no choice on which ones they gave us.) i would have rather just given the troop $20 because i knew that they only got a % of the $20 i gave them for calendars and i usually only used the two wall calendars and chucked the rest (the were the small hallmark type). It had something to do with a minimum order with that council.

I'm glad her current troop doesn't sell calendars. They do cookies and nuts/magazine but no pressure. If there's a trip or event later in the year, i just have to pay DD's share instead of having fundraiser money in her account.

You guys have accounts for EACH girl?? Tsk,tsk . We don't have to worry about such stuff as we always sold plenty of cookies. Didn't matter who did or didn't. All went into the same pot. I'll be leaving them with about $3000 in the pot for the future of the troop.

I have to get back to my painting. Just touchups, although DH put a dent in the wall in the closet and I think I'm going to fix it anyway. We got her closet organizer back in and her desk. Now if I could just remember where I put those darn screws for her bed.....

Oh yeah, we had a great time at Sesame Place yesterday! It was a beautiful day, but the water was downright freezing!! Should have seen my face when I got in the tube for the lazy river. That was my only water adventure though. DDs went on a few water rides and then some land rides. My youngest nephew (I guess grand-nephew?) loves Elmo. His face and excitement was priceless when we watched Elmo's World live!

We're probably going back one more time as they have a big thing the next few weekends until Halloween. Trick-or-treating, hay rides and such. Just no more swimming!

I can just see the announcement now "Will all the Dis cult people hanging their pirate flags on their balconies please take them down so we can leave Port Canaveral. We know you guys have been having fun for the past few months, but the rest of us would like to begin our cruise."

I wasnt planning to Hang mine up till Castaway Cay Sunday morning ....but will always take it down before we leave ports ...LOL

Of course we should call in all of those favors of local people and family whose kids did this once upon a time and we ended up with a freezer full of Thin Mints.

You may find people like us who are SEARCHING for someone to help us stock our freezer with thin mints since our girls are grown! We love them!

Yes, DD will be taking orders come after New Years (beginning of January) and delivery will be beginning of March (usually 1st or 2nd weekend)

and we can put you down for "HOW MANY BOXES"?

She has been recieving the 100+ boxes sold patch pretty consistently now for about 3-4 years. Some of her best sales have come from my exercise classes believe it or not. (although last year she's seemed to tap into a vein as the distributor to everyone at her barn she rides/works at.)

I have reached a new level of addiction....my DIS sickness is interfering with my real sickness.

I appear to be rapidly developing DD's cold (congestion, watery eyes, sore throat...) and a lovely sinus-y headache that goes with it. I woke up really early this morning just feeling miserable but I somehow got myself back to sleep. I felt too bad to get up and get medicine. I did get up to help DH get the kids ready but then I took some medicine and I need to go back to bed for a few hours. However, before I could do that I had to check in here....it couldn't wait. What is wrong with us?

I have found that I check in here when I have migranes and colds in spite of the fact that reading the computer screen makes the symptoms worse.

I am such a sucker for DIS boards.
