OMG! I can't imagine being out of our home for that long & not have anything. Did they put you in a hotel?

They said they would, but we thought it would be better for my DD if we moved in with grandma and grandpa for a while instead. At the time they lived 15 minutes away. That way she could ride her bike and play in the yard. I just could not think of her in 1 room for that long. DH was really sweet about it and my parents were great!

DD informed me today that she now wants to go to the club. She wants to meet all of her new friends! I think she will be a little bummed that William won't be there with her though.

Wow, this feels really nice. DDs have piano today. Their teacher is the music teacher at DD7's school so she offered to take her home with her after school. She is actually taking two students home, so DD's lesson is from 4 - 4:30. DD12 then has hers at 4:30, so I don't have to leave until 4:15 and only have to stay for a half an hour!

I really just wanted to hear why they voted as they did, if that was even shown. To miss the finale is like having Angie's warm apple pie without the ice cream! It just isn't right!!

LOL! Watching Mike squirm when they showed some of the diary room things to Erica and then they showed Janelle what James said behind her back. YIKES!

It is rainy here but nice & cool. I am wondering when I will need to take out some of our fall clothes. Today I am off to stuff bags with fundraising info. We have the kick off next Monday afternoon. It is all starting up...though I am being selective about what I am doing. I have a meeting that morning too. Movie night is next Friday. The bookfair is the next week and I always work each day helping with the register after setting it up the first day.

Now that DD is playing soccer too I wont need to worry about DH getting home in time to keep her on practice days.

We were successful getting her cletes that fit. She decided against the black & pink ones that I picked out & now has black with a sparkly stripe on the outside. We thought that it was just a pretty shoe but once she put them on we found out that they have the red lights in the sparkly stripe when she steps down. She is hooked now! I really hope that she has fun with this. I wont be upset if she backs out but she needs to get out there & be involved in something. Having people cheer for her should boost her confidence.

DD LOVED soccer last spring. Those kids are so cute playing at that age!

I'm finally getting a chance to tell you all our funny story from last night.

Tuesday, our Select Comfort sales lady calls and says our bed should arrive on Wednesday.

Wednesday, I'm home...no boxes. We were told there were 6 large, heavy boxes that the bed comes in. Okay...waiting...waiting.... Everyone comes home from football practice at 8:30. No bed. I think - okay, tomorrow.

At 8:45, the phone rings...
Me - "Hello"
"Hi, is this Don Rhoad's house"
me - "Yes"
"Is he there?
me - "Yes, may I ask who is calling?"
"Well, did you order a select comfort bed?"
me - "Yes......long pause...."
"well, we have your bed at our house. This is your neighbor about 10 houses away."
me - long pause...."ok, I'll let my husband know"

Apparently the (explatives deleted) delivery man delivered the bed to that guys house and that guy's wife's jewelry to our house. Found that out after I walked out to the driveway at 9PM.

So we call UPS. They say - gosh, sorry, not sure what we can do.

Huh?!!! We have an expensive bed sitting outside at teh wrong house and you don't know what to do?!!!

So we call the bed store where we bought it. They say - can you hire a moving company to go get it

Huh?!! It is 9PM and we paid to have it shipped to our house. Now you want us to pay to have it MOVED from the wrong house to our house.

Tell ya what - both parties customer service STUNK!!!!!!! It was outrageous.

Bottom line where we left it last night....the bed was sitting in the guys driveway. It rained. We told Select Comfort to send us another brand new one and come get that one.


I was speecheless!!!! Had to share the story.

He knows we went and had a good time, but that is it.

we just got a whole bunch of disney food items, sugar free on the go milk flavors, Incredibles string cheese, Toy Story cheese snacks, Lion King chocolate milk flavor, and Mickey shaped cheese. Watch the nutritional information though. I went to pick up Mickey/disney bread and the calories were very high and the fiber was very low. DD even said it wasn't worth it for the points she would have to use to have it.

Not sure if I missed this answer, but how did you find the mold. There have been cases of this happening in our town and I always wonder what triggered people to know they should have their house inspected for mold.

We had a discoloration in our stucco about 1 foot, and I asked the House Doctor, a local fix-it man to fix it. So he called a stucco company and they put up thier metal scaffolding and took down the stucco section and then they ran away. I am serious, never came back. I still have some great metal scaffolding if anyone wants it. So DH goes home and looks at it and puts his hand in the wall and it goes through the 2 x 4. I called the insurance company and the adjuster came to our house and told us we had mold. It was the first case of toxic mold in our valley. They tore off all the stucco and it looked like we had had a fire. Tonight when I get home, I will post pictures.

Kim - that story scares me. When we moved into our house, our real estate agent recommend we apply for part of the Dryvit (guess it is similar to Stucco) lawsuit. Basically, we had to get some things repaired...MAJOR HEADACHE...in order to get this very weak warranty that our Stucco would be covered in case of any mold problems in the future. Apparently when our house was built, the Dryvit company didn't tell people how to install it and many people were having problems. We've had it inspected and repaired but ya just never know.

I think we're okay...but sometimes we having oozing green stuff that comes out of our molding....just kidding!!!

With the pain that we went thru to get it inspected and fixed, I can't imagine actually finding mold. Ugh!!!

ohmygoodness. what a bunch of turkeys. Glad you aren't going to take the one that got rained on, that wouldn't be good.

I was just reading your bed story and had to share my shipping horror.

DD wears 2 hearing aides because of profound/severe hearing loss. She does not wear them much during summer. A month before school starts, 10th grade, she checks them out and they don't work. I called the audiologist office and they can't get her in for 2 weeks. OW, that should still be time to get them back for the 1st day, also her birthday. Well the first day turned into the first week and the second week. I called everyday after 10 days figuring they should be in at anytime. They finally told me they were shipped the week before labor day. I called during labor day week and they still had not received them. Finally the audiologist called and the hearing aides were lost by the shipping company. Because of the cost of the aides, $5k, we would need to wait for 30 days to file a claim then the claim could take 6 to 8 weeks. DD was heart broken. She hates the hearing aides but really has noticed how much she needs them as had her teachers. I cried, screamed, complained, and cried some more to the audiologist.

Tuesday I got a call from the audiologist. She told me that our hearing aides were in. Not the ones that were lost--a brand new pair. She had called the main office and told them our story and they agreed to waive the waiting period. They now have to go after DHL to get these paid for. I was so happy. DD cried again and we got them yesterday.

I could not believe that they were going to make us wait that long but we were stuck. Our medical insurance will only cover up to $1K for each device every 3 years and these were only 1.5 years old. I had to fight tooth and nail to get them to pay for these because each time they want to know why DD has the hearing loss. If I knew that, I would be better than the drs.
