I should've thrown something in the crockpot this morning, now I'm torn on what to make for dinner. It's a toss up between chicken fajitas or baked ziti.
fish sticks and tater tots for us tonight. Easy, then a glass of wine, or two. :goodvibes

I gotta say yes, he is a superhero. He has laser beams, albiet fake, he flies and he says to infinity and beyond a lot. Not a great superhero, but one nontheless...
According to Buzz he is a superhero, according to Woody he is just a toy! :teeth: I LOVE Woody!! There's a snake in my boot!

Lots of homework here. DD8 had to ask me to make a list of everything I read today. :rolleyes1 hmmm... I think "Disney cruise website" is a safe answer.

DD13 has to write her MATH autobiography (did you hear that, BECKA?) Questions include earliest math memory and favorite math activity ever!

ok, I am laughing at my desk. That was the funniest thing! "Disney Cruise Website"

I resemble that remark!

This is a bit of a concern for me doing Palo on sunday. I'm a little worried that DS and DD won't be used to the clubs yet but since they'll both be in the same club I'm hoping they'll adapt well together.

I made reservations for Sunday night while they are doing the nestle cooking thing. I am banking on the princess factor because 1. She loves to cook. 2. You all have the most adorable 6 year old girls I have ever seen. 3. Many of the parents of the most adorable 6 year old girls will be going to Palo then so I think they will be in the club. 4. If she doesn't want to, we will just cancel and go to dinner at 8:00. No big deal...

I am so sorry to hear about your MIL's illness. I hope the arrangements for her care can be worked out easily. I would think the social worker who is assigned to her case from the hospital determines when it is time for hospice to be involved.

My father had one kidney for over 30 years and the last few years operated at 25% capacity of his remaining kidney. With medication and diet they can continue for quite a while - although my father did not have the additional complications that your MIL does. Dialysis is VERY tough on the body if they are discussing this. If I had known, I probably would not have let them start my mother on this during her cancer treatments. Her cancer dr. felt she needed it but the kidney dr. did not - so it is not always clear cut.

Hospice can really help you cut through the maze of arrangements. Wishing you all the best.

Thank you for that information. Believe it or not, it gives me some hope to know that your father lived with less capacity than she has for so long. I honestly do not think that she could survive dialysis after all the chemo she has gone thru. There is noone assigned to her case so far.

Yes I am sure Lisa thinks we were all spending friday night talking about Ascot's. It is such a popular topic this time of year....

why don't we try and coordinate some kids club schedules for the first 2 or 3 nites. I know I am planning on having my kids there in the evening while we eat - maybe we can introduce them to some other kids or meet up outside at a specific time. They are really looking forward to several of the evening activities that we have read about together.

We will be taking them to the early show - then a brief visit to the dining room (8pm)- then the kids club.

elaine

Sounds like a good idea to me. :thumbsup2 Also, does anyone want to have our kids who will be in same club start emailing each other? So that they can start getting to know each other.

Lisa, Funny thing today. The National Kidney Association called and wants us to do some research for them. Anything you need me to ask them for, just let me know....

I was just talking with DH online (how I love to be able to talk for free!) The connection isn't to bad either. sometimes he sounds like he just inhailed helium from a balloon though. :lmao:

He really wants me to fly to FL this year. He doesn't like me driving alone which is what i would HAVE to do on the way down as the girls have school Friday. I asked him if was driving back with me and that is a no go in his book. I've tried differetn "happy pills" when I have flown before, but none seem to work well enough. I think my adrenaline is so pumped that whatever I take runs right through! It is a lot faster and easier though....Gosh how I don't want to think about a plane ride! I will start having nightmares tonight I bet.

But he still wants to "talk" about the trip when he gets home. That may not be until the 21st if he can't get an earlier flight home.

IDK if it helps, but I wouldn't think twice about getting on a plane again after last week. I wish that it wasn't so expensive to fly or I would jump at doing that instead of driving 11 hours to WDW. :grouphug:

Yep, no superhero T-shirts, shorts, PJs, sneakers. I'm not sure about Halloween clothes (haven't had to deal with a boy and these rules before; DD was only wearing princess clothes!)

And my bargain Disney shopping does have illegal clothing, but nothing for school (buzz & incredibles PJs, swim shorts, flipflops).

DS will be sticking with safe clothes. Of course, he did hit someone today, and he was wearing an orange polo and plaid shorts, so I'm not sure what that says.
This Grandma thinks that says this is just silliness. Whole generations grew up with Superman, Spiderman, Green Hornet, etc and we are not a bunch of serial killers! I'm not sure what part of hero they don't understand. But, they can wear t-****s with sports "heros" on them who have been convicted of drug abuse, spousal abuse and animal abuse. (I speak of our local Blazers here) Sorry, my soapbox! Aaron had to deal with those same rules in preschool.

The only reason we are trying this is because DD will know two of the girls in the club at the same time and DS always seems to adapt to that situation better than DD.

That will be easy to plan once everyone has their Palo resies & I can post them on the site. You can then tell your kids who will be in the club at the same time and they can start emailing those kids. You can go over the kid's activities during that time too. :)

Aaron does not have any experience in the clubs, although he does say he IS going to play on that ship this time! :thumbsup2

You're right, the ones I got DD are very long, the shirt over it is long too but the way it layers it's kind of cute having the tank peek under the shirt. It works well. It did take me some getting used to with the length though, at first I kept telling her she should tuck it in. :rotfl:

That seems to be the look in the mags alot though. I myself wouldn't feel comfortable wearing it but noone should look twice at her if she wears it out.

low rise jeans make me crazy! I refuse to buy them, for me or for DD. I've had to search high and low to find NORMAL jeans. Why are normal rise jeans so hard to find?! I just don't understand the "fashion" of today.

OY! I bought some crop pants that fit great but I have to wear a long shirt with them because they turned out to be those low things. UGH!. They fit so well though that I will use them with my long 3/4 sleeve shirts.

DD 3 came down a little while ago with fingernail polish on hands. :upsidedow And she's not sleeping why??? Her day wasn't long enough? *sigh*

LOL! I thought that she was going to say something about not seeing DS.

:rotfl: I see Angie thought the same thing.
She's probably still stoked from having such a good day, finding Lisa's young Prince Charming and then cowboys too!
