I have a request...seems kinda strange to post after I've been posting these other posts, but....I wasn't sure if it was okay to ask and just now decided that I should...

Can you guys keep my father and mother in your prayers? My DM called me and said my father was taken to the hospital...looks like he broke his hip. My father is 63, but suffering terribly with cancer and I bet his body is just really getting weak. Anyway - my mom threw her back out and can't move. So I have 2 parents out of commission. My dad has to have surgery and the ambulance took him to Tampa general. My mom is home alone at the house...hopefully able to move enough to make some food. I wish I could fly down but I just can't get away with the kids, school and work. My heart breaks and some prayers from a kind bunch like you all would really help. THANKS!! :grouphug: I'm tearing up just thinking about it.

okay - I'm out of here...I need to go run some errands and pick up the kids....and oh yeah - they just issued a tornado watch for our area for the next 4 hours .... little football players on a big open field with a tornado watch. hmmm...... are they psycho coaches or what?!!!

hugs, k

Of course you can post this kind of thing on this thread. We will certainly put you and your parents in our prayers. Be sure and keep us updated as to how they both are. You made me tear up too. :grouphug:

Karen, love, prayers, and pixiedust: for you and your family. It is tough watching parents age. I have always felt very blessed to have both of my parents in good health, but I know the time will come when the good fortune will run out. I hope you find a solution that lightens your worried heart. :grouphug:

Lisa - I was starting to worry that Saturday would be a wash out with the rain, but it doesn't look so bad as it did yesterday. Not that the weather is predictable or anything.

Karen,
Prayers said for your Mom and Dad. Hope there's someone nearby in Florida to check up on Mom. Or someone to drop a frozen roast in the crockpot for her (and she won't lift the lid!!) :goodvibes

And a huge THANK YOU to everyone who pointed out how to get to your last read post!! Guess I never thought their might be a way to do that!

I have to run and sand some of DD's closet so that I can paint it tomorrow. Without a light in there it is harder because I like to do things at night.

Karen, please stop sending the storms eastward to us. The thunder and lightning and torrential downpours are really not necessary.

Karen - definite prayers sent your way....you said he is at TGH??

Brandi - it just started raining here and when I left work we weren't evacuationg PSN's yet or opening as our shelter. Of course I have all the candles and flashlights out becuase we lose power when someone sneezes.....

for all those not doing Palo - I'll take it!! Oh my - we love that place. We didn't do it on our first cruise but sure made up for it the second. I think last year our servers were TERRIBLE....I mean all I requested was each night at dinner there be Cheerios or crackers for Haley - that was impossible and while they were nice - one was soon to leave the ship to go into entertainment at WDW and he was SO wanting to leave. So not the case at Palo. We loved Palo...we had the same server and same table twice but then we requested Zita as much as possible.

Not much else going on.....making fajitia's for dinner...wishing I were cruising.

Ebay has tons of pirate costumes in all sizes. Some are pretty "vampy" ;)

Or you could just accessorize. They have some cute pirate t-shirts on sale on the Disney site right now.

You are right about the candy - that is why bringing candy for the sharing goodies probably doesn't work either. Oh well. we have a great local chocolate shop and they make really pretty holiday chocolates.

Everyone is so granola in the Woodstock area here that I would never think of bringing REFINED sugar to anything locally. Horrors!!! LOL.

I never heard about the wine store - I might do some searches myself tonite and see what I find.

I will post the question on the Passporter site too - often Dave answers the questions himself which is really nice.

I bought a great wine carrier from Target the other day.

That sounds like a good idea. :) I don't think that anyone would turn down candy. ;) They can always take it home. We still have some cinderella chocolates from our last cruise.

Lisa - I was looking at all the $2.99 swimsuits on sale at Disney and wondering if the kids from Costa Maya might like some Disney swim suits.

Is that like bringing coals to Newcastle - maybe they swim au natural.

We bought a bunch of art supplies and 4 backbacks today - one from each of us.

yes there were several of the special dinners that seemed pretty boring - continental menu - to me. there were several things I liked on Day 4 - but the last 2 nites didn't really interest me and so we booked Palo on Day 6 and will try for Day 7 too.

I'm sorry I am beating this to death but I don't want to do the wrong thing.
Would we go to each cabin and drop things in the stocking? I know some mentioned that they were going to distribute to DIS people in the arrival area.
(sorry I know that has a technical name) or at the sail away party.

If we leave things in the stocking only for the 5-7 age group I'm afraid that the other kids in the family will get upset if they don't receive something - so this doesn't sound like it works.

am I micro-managing?

thanks.
